Great music by a talented artist.......2007-01-30
I actually just got this cd. I had heard of him before but never had bought any of his music. After hearing this cd, I went and bought his other cd's. I'm addicted! What happened to him anyway?
This cd reminds me of the 90's. It has that 90's vibe,AND I AM LOVIN' IT!
If you like great r&b,add this one to your collection!
His Greatest Album.....BAR NONE!.......2007-01-01
I know Christopher Williams has had several albums and many of those have had good songs on them but for an overall strong album, "Changes" is his greatest in my opinion! Nearly every song was good. While mostly slow songs, there are some good mid-tempo to up-tempo songs on here as well. His version of "Come Go With Me" is still the best remake of Teddy Pendergrass' classic (only Jahiem's recent remake comes close). Favorites of mine were "All I See", "Good Lovin'" w/Mary J. Blige, "When A Fool Becomes A Man", "Where Are You Now", "Every Little Thing You Do" and the title track.
Even his weakest track "Please, Please" is pretty good compared to a lot of R & B music from today. Get this classic!
New Jack Swing R&B man o man how I miss it.......2006-11-19
Growing up in the early nineties I consider New Jack Swing to be the music of my childhood. It was a time when you and your parents actually both listened to the same radio station and talked about music on a daily basis. Christopher Williams's sophomore CD Changes was one of the excellent releases from 1992.Fresh off of his acting debut in New Jack City, Williams was destined for a place in R&B. Like many singers Williams excels at the ballads in particular Please, Please, Please Changes, When A Fool Becomes A Man and his cover of Come Go With Me. One has to wonder if Williams would have gotten stronger material on his third & fourth CD's how he would have fared in today's R&B market? Just imagine Williams doing songs written & produced by Ne-Yo, The Underdogs, Sean Garret and even R.Kelly. If you don't have this CD you're really missing out.
Awesome CD.......2005-12-17
I am in agreement that is a womderful cd, however, the person that said RIP is a bit off. Christopher "is" a great singer and actor. Not only is he not dead but he is still appearing in plays around the US. Check your facts. One more thing, Christopher really need to come out with something new because it will break records as soon as it hits the shelves.
Strong follow up.......2005-10-28
This was delayed too much, yet it came out in late 1992. Christopher Williams' second album Changes, is such a strong follow-up, with dynamic R&B dance numbers and smooth ballads. Every Little Thing still sounds funky. Much of the album was produced by 3 Boyz from Newark and other New York based producers. A stand out is his wonderful remake of Teddy Pendergrass' Close the Door. Quite frankly, the best remake of a Teddy song that I've heard. And it stays true to the original. Perhaps the only singer of today than can be compared to Chris is hit maker Jaheim. Jaheim reminds me so much of Chris' voice sometimes as well as Teddy. Williams' album deserved far more promotion than it got, because it's loaded with just strong songs.

IT'S ABOUT TIME.....WOW!!!.......2003-10-30
My heart cannot stop pumping harder....I have two LPs of THEM CHANGES and have been searching and searching til searching was frustrating....THANK GOD someone had some sense to put the ORIGINAL LP on CD. The greatest hits is fine...but "DOWN BY THE RIVER" was little bit out of place.
That song was played by my neighbor so much that the grooves evaporated of the record.
Them Excellent Changes!.......2003-10-23
1971. Buddy's 3rd album. And, by far, his best, as a whole. It stayed in the top 10 for nearly a year. I remember walking into a record store in Honolulu at the time, and the owner was playing the album overhead. "He's on fire!" he said to me. How very true! This is a *great* collection of songs! Only three of them are on the "Greatest Hits" CD. This album has the original studio version of "Down By The River" with Buddy on lead guitar! So, it's definitely worth spending the cash to get it. Too bad it's only available as an import. One of the *best* albums from from what was left of the '60s in 1971.
Would be an Amazon essential.......2003-07-25
But I think they have to have it in stock first. What a shame. This is a great album from back in the day. Buddy Miles was a great drummer (still is I guess, because about a year ago I saw him in an interview, getting ready to do a concert in Honolulu),. And his work with Jimi Hendrix in
the Band of Gypsies, Carlos Santana and a host of others is the stuff of legends.
The recording is great. Hearing the opening of "Them Changes" is like hearing from an old friend who has come back from school.
"Down by the River" is one of my favorite songs from this album and from this era. Being able to find a copy of that (I think this is the only place to find this studio cut on CD). D.B.T.R., "I Still Love You Anyway" and, "Heart's Delight" are among my favorite (along, of course with the title cut).
This is an essential.

Dave in Denver / re: Pride 'n Politics.......2004-10-31
It's a crying shame this group didn't make it big. My introduction to Pride 'n Politix came through a smooth jazz station here in Denver some years ago when the song "Crying Over Nothing" was being played. The imagery in the lyryics and the mood of the melody absolutely captured my imagination. I went out to buy the album for that one song alone. To my amazement, every song on the CD, (with the exception of "Changes," which I do not prefer), were excellent. An extremely enjoyable CD all the way around -- primarily upbeat -- happy but not sappy. Intelligently done. The fact this group didn't enjoy more success and go on to record additional albums is truly "something to cry over."
Where Are They Now?.......2003-12-09
I purchased the VERY LAST cd version of this album in Tower Records, NYC back in the 80's. This band sounds as good today as they did back then. My favorite songs on this cd are: Hold On (kicks off the set), Nights, Crying Over Nothing, Felt Your Love (which introduced the band on radio) just to name a few. If you remember 'Felt Your Love' you will not be disappointed in purchasing this cd. This is one band that I wish I knew 'where are they now?" Very underrated.

Consistency & Classy.......2004-12-09
The greatest ever singer/songwriters come up trumps again - hey what did you expect? No its NOT 60s bass driven motownesque BUT it is classy, real classy. If you've grown up with motown or invictus and evolved as you've got older then you will appreciate this fine fine music. They really are the masters - do yourself a favour, buy it and re-educate your soul! It'll never make the top sellers but I guarentee it'll be one of your top players! Go on I dare you.....
Meet Them Again For The First Time.......2000-06-20
Brian Holland, Lamont Dozier, and Eddie Holland comprised one of the greatest songwriting teams in pop music history. The hits they wrote for Martha & The Vandellas, The Supremes, The Four Tops, Marvin Gaye, Mary Wells, and even Smokey Robinson, are the stuff of legend. The trio's relationship as writers/producers at Motown Records came to an end circa 1968 over a royalty dispute with Motown founder Berry Gordy. (They even asked a judge to put Motown in receivership, feeling their songs had generated most of the company's wealth--a reach.) Like others who sued Gordy, they wound up with much more money than they otherwise would have received. They used this money to fund their own HDH Productions and two record labels: Invictus and Hot Wax. With all the legal woes, and the business of running a business, the group's writing activity slowed down to a trickle. They contributed a track here and there for some of their acts, like Flaming Ember or Chairmen Of The Board. But most of the songs they wrote between 1970 and 1973 were released on themselves, usuallly billed as Holland-Dozier or Dozier-Holland. There is some good music here, and the best of it, "Don't Leave Me Starving For Your Love" and "Why Can't We Be Lovers," did well on the R&B charts. These songs were out of print for many years, and its good to hear them again (some for the first time). In case you didn't know, all three writers got their start in music as singers. Eddie Holland's "Jaime" is a well-known early-Motown classic, as is "Leaving Here." Lamont Dozier was a singer at Berry Gordy's sister's label, Anna Records, before coming to Motown. He really found the most success behind the microphone, signing with ABC Records in 1973 and turning out hits like "Fish Ain't Bitin'" and "Trying To Hold On To My Woman." But Dozier's record deal was a precursor to the trio's downfall as forces in the music industry. The Holland Brother did some further writing and producing for The Temptations and other acts, and Dozier remains a known solo star to this day, with hits like "Cool Me Out" and albums like "Inside Seduction" to his credit. But the group makes most of its money through royalties on its classic Motown output, and through ownership of the masters from the Hot Wax and Invictus labels.
A VERY GOOD ALBUM.......1998-07-02
THIS IS A VERY GOOD ALBUM. ALTHOUGH I WAS A LITTLE DISAPPOINTED THAT THERE WEREN'T MORE BALLADS, THIS WAS STILL A GREAT LISTEN. WHY CAN'T WE BE LOVERS....IS ONE OF THE GREATEST SONGS OF ALL TIME..!!!!
IF YOU WANT A FIVE STAR ALBUM..GIVE A LISTEN TO INSIDE SEDUCTION BY LAMONT DOZIER........IF YOU CAN FIND IT..!!!!
