Editorial Reviews
Vibe
Hav Plenty's eclectic roster makes the soundtrack to the film savory to virtually any palate. Although not as creative as the ethereal love jones soundtrack or as solid in production as the soundtrack to Bulworth, Hav Plenty still manages choice moments.... Dull interludes aside, Hav Plenty's stylistics are worthy.
Entertainment Weekly
Babyface's steam-bath-soul trademarks (spare, clean grooves and buttery melodies) adorn the tracks of Hav Plenty--from Babyface and Des'ree's slow- burning remake of Bruce Springsteen's "Fire" to newcomer Shya's luscious "I Can't Help It." The ways in which such varied vocalists as Faith Evans, rapper DMX, and Erykah Badu peacefully coexist also recall the [Waiting to] Exhale album.

Hav Plenty.......2001-07-21
This soundtrack is one I would suggest any lover of R n B to buy. You got to catch the Faith Evans, Changing Faces, Chico DeBarge, and Jayo Felony songs.
A CLASSIC.......2000-10-08
This is one of my favorite soundtracks of 1998 I feel this soundtrack didn't get the attention it deserved in 1998 it featured all great performers such as Faith Evans, DMX, Chico DeBarge, Jay-Z, Changing Faces, and many more also a few newcomers. The opening track "Fire" performed by a good duo Babyface and Des'ree, this song is great because his vocals with hers make a unique combination.Another hot song featured is "Keep It Real" which features Jon.B, Coko and Jay-Z, this song has a great beat,Jays rap mixes well and Coko's vocals sound great. Faith Evans shines once again on"Tears Away" which is a song which she is basically saying when you lose someone wipe your tears away you don't have to cry ,you'll get over it.Other songs worth mentioning are SWV's remake of the Jackson 5 hit "I Wanna Be Where You Are" which again Coko steals the spotlight of the song forget Taj and Leelei Coko's vocals reign supreme.Changing Faces serve up a nice ballad with "What I've Been Missing" which has a great beat and Cassandra and Charisse sound great.Queen Pen and Tracy Lee turn out a good performance on "Body Rock", and Absolute,Cha Cha and Kelly Price turn out a hit with the albums second single "Heat". Blackstreet with guests Lamenga Kafi & Beverly Crowder turn out a great song to with "I Cant Get You Out Of My Mind".Songs not worth mentioning are newcomer Shya's weak attempt with "I Can't Help It", Jayo Felony,DMX, and Method Man on the weak party jam "Whatcha Gonna Do", and Erykah Badu's lame old, same old "Ye Yo".All except those three songs are great but this album is much better than people think I would suggest this for true r&b fans.
Not bad.......2000-05-03
You know if Kenneth " Babyface" Edmonds has anything to do with an project you know it's going to be good.. Havin Plenty soundtrack doesnt disappoint for the most part.. Babyface assembled some of the best talent around in r n b, hip hop.. The soundtrack gets off with a great start Babyface doing a rendition of the old Pointer Sisters' Tune Fire with a little help from Pop sensation Des'ree next up is the hard hittin r n b hip hop flava of absoutle on the track Heat with a little help from Kelly Price and rapper Cha Cha.. One of the slammest colloborations Jon B and CoKo hit hard with Keep It Real.. Blackstreet on deck with the fab remix of I Cant Get You Out Of Mind.. Faith Evans turn in the best ballad in a long time Tears Away.. Chico Debarge with a little help from Joe rips Any Other Night.. Jayo Felony, Method Man, DMX all on the hand for the blazing hip hop track the best of all the hip hop tracks Whatcha Gonna Do with It.. there are a few missteps here Tracy Lee& Queen Pen on the mediocre Body Rock. Shya's I Cant Help It.. But over all this a pretty good soundtrack some what over look and also the movie but check it out you wont be disappointed
Hav Plenty...well just enough to to be satisfied..good!.......2000-04-18
This cd was a decent cd. babyface hooks up another good soundtrack(not as good as soulfood) and keeps u listening for a while. Some tracks here are weak but there are 3 reasons to get this:
track 3: Coko/jon b./ jay-z - this is my favorite jam on the album and they mix jazz with hip/hop to mkae one of thightest tracks on this cd. This should have been a single.
track 6: Faith- This track gives u what faith is known for..her good singing and slow jams. this one could be a single for her too. The best slow jam on the album.
track 10: jayo/dmx/method - this track is the best rap track here. Turn up to full volume and blast.
Overall it was god. If there were more good tracks here I would rate it higher but there were none. Check it out and see what u like.
A good mix of hip/hop and r+b.......1998-10-01
This Cd was pretty good overall. Even though I think Babyface did a better job on the soul food soundtrack, this one is worth listening. Three good reasons to buy this cd are the track by swv, faith evans, and (#1!!!) the track buy coko, jon b. and jay-z. That is the best track on this CD.
