Contentwise, Keith Washington's third album, KW, is much more aggressive than his subtly sexy 1991 debut, Make Time for Love. Keith's hypnotizing alto is as inviting now as it was in the beginning, and his ability to maintain a fresh style makes him sound even better. KW is an arousing, romantic album that will assure Keith Washington the R&B heavyweight status he so deserves.

The last review was rather harsh and uncalled for, Keith does suit the urban style and should continue singing, he should hook up with Producer Paul Laurence and or Darkchild and make some new tracks He has the best voice in the industry. Keith make your come back real soon!!.

But his first two albums were sublime. He suits ballads, not urban hip hop flavored joints.

I liked Keith Washington's third album. Though he moved on to new producers, the five-year layoff hasn't affected his voice one bit. He still sounds good in fine form vocally. I like Bring It On and the few uptempo funky numbers that open up the album. I like You Sure Love to Ball and that remix that closes up the album. Keith tends to sound a little more R. Kelly-ish with the horniness of the lyrics on some songs. But he keeps his more classier style on some other songs. The shift to Fred Jerkins III on some songs updated his sound to 1998 quite a lot. But I was surprised that he released an album that year when Usher was quite dominant at the time. Keith's third and final opus in music was another great effort.

This CD is truly amazing. If you are a fan of KW's work, you will truly love it. His sexy urban style shines through on every track. I have heard Keith live and believe me, his sound is unique.
Keep your eye on this guy, I expect to be hearing much more from this talented artist soon.

A let down..........1999-12-31

When I bought this cd I was hoping for the magic of his first, very sexy, deep effort...Make Time for Love...but was extremely disappointed. I've listened to it numerous times and can't get through it totally. Over produced to the max! The songs aren't his best by far but his voice is still prime and hotter than ever. I'm still a fan though but get back to your earlier style please!

When Ella Fitzgerald came to Rio de Janeiro in 1971, she got impressed by a track she listened to from a cassette tape someone had presented her. It was the smash hit of the moment - "Madalena" by composer Ivan Lins as sung by Elis Regina. It was 1971 and Ella has recorded it live in 1972 in her Jazz the Philharmonica concert at the Santa Monica Civic. The master Elis Regina counted on the great Chiquinho de Morais as her arranger for this album. Another smash hit from this album was Marcos Valle's "Black is Beautiful".

She (Elis) as we can hear in this CD is giving us an opportunity to embrace our deepest feelings and find an spetacular interpretation as in Madalena (one the most popular songs of our time, you can easily hear this music sang by a musician in Union Square or in the subway), Black is beautiful another expectional interpretation. Good music to be listened and appreciated.

If you like Senegal's Baaba Maal's acoustic outings, then you will love this CD. The Guinean Kante Manfila is one of the lesser known giants of African music. Few can play guitar with as much tenderness, sweetness and passion. His vocals are equally charming and moving. The music gently rocks and the whole recording has the sound of overhearing some really talented friends jamming on your front porch. A wonderful performance by a superbly gifted artist. GET IT!
