About the Artist
Born Gary Anthony Sturgis, Illuminati was destined for success. At an early age, he decided to pursue music through the encouragement of his parents. After playing piccolo and leading the woodwind section of the school band for a couple of years, he decided to try out for Drum Major. He began leading the band, and has been a leader ever since. In high school he began working in theatre as an actor. On stage, he found his true calling. Illuminati, then Gary Sturgis found work on film projects as they came to town. He appeared in "BLAZE", "THE BIG EASY" and a few made for DVD releases before uprooting and moving to Los Angeles. He can currently be seen in Tyler Perry's "DIARY OF A MAD BLACK WOMAN" as Jamison Milton Jackson.Pursuing acting full tilt, he found work on hit shows like THE DISTRICT, NYPD BLUE, MALCOM & EDDIE and the now defunct ABC soap PORT CHARLES. He worked with Busta Rhymes in a MOUNTAIN DEW commercial. He did commercials and print ads for DODGE NEO! N. But his biggest success came from his raspy baritone voice when he began doing voice promotion for UPN. He has been heard across the nation promoting shows like MOESHA, HALF & HALF, GIRLFRIENDS, THE PARKERS and ALL OF US to name a few. The voice of Illuminati was used to promote hit feature films like THE OTHERS, TORQUE, BONES, THE BROTHERS, THE WOOD, BLUE STREAK and the Brittany Spears movie CROSSROADS. He is the voice of many TV and radio commercials as well. He is the voice of the Phantom Virus in the Scooby Doo DVD SCOOBY DOO AND THE CYBERCHASE and he currently voices the shadow villain EBON on the Kids WB cartoon STATIC SHOCK.Illuminati decided that it was time to get back into music. He took his earnings in voiceover and built a recording studio. He named it GEMSound Recording and set up shop in Beverly Hills. He then started GEMFilmworks Corporation to facilitate his screenwriting and producing dreams. The next logical step was PREDATOR RECORDS. Illuminati, now having tons of mic experience, recorded his first album, MASS APPEAL. It was released through Internet distribution and had nominal success. This time, he decided there is strength in numbers, and incorporated the help of the acts you see present on this label. This time, he is seeking major label distribution for his entire label as opposed to a record deal for himself. Having an eye for talent, he has assembled the best of the best-unknown talent in town; and together, they are poised and ready to take the world by storm. Every act featured on Predator Records has a completed, marketable project ready for public consumption. Illuminati is also a screenwriter. He has several screenplays for sale and scheduled for production to promote his label.

IT'S GETTING HOTT IN HERE!!!!.......2007-02-17
Words cannot describe how awesome BON JOVI is!!! I am their #1 fan and no other group in this world produces such quality / entertaining / heartfelt music. I RECOMMEND YOU BUY 7800 FAHRENHEIT and ALL OF THEIR CDs!!!
I love this album!.......2007-02-11
First off, let me just say I'm a psychotic, for lack of a better word, Bon Jovi fan. I have been for many years now.I've wanted this album for such a long time and was so happy to finally get it. In my opinion, its one of their better albums. I find it hard to believe that the band thinks its one of their worst. What made me want the album the most was the song Only Lonely. Others I absolutely love are The Price of Love, The Hardest Part is the Night, Always Run to You, and Secret Dreams. Personally, I think all those should have been released as singles because they are just that good. Although, their next album Slippery When Wet was more mature, 7800 was just as good. But their subsequent albums were awesome. I throughly enjoyed this album, I've listened to it nonstop since I got it. The song quality is amazing.I LOVE THIS ALBUM,I hope you do too.
This Album Deserved Better Than It Got.......2006-09-06
7800 FAHRENHEIT deserved much better reviews than it got, because the album told the cold hard truth that being on the road all the time is not just a nonstop good time and, in fact, causes loneliness and depression. Jon Bon Jovi was apparently sad over being away from his high school sweetheart, but rather than cheat on her, he let his pain come out in his music. That, combined with his current belief that the young Australian tourist jailed in Indonesia since 2005 for drug-smuggling was wrongfully convicted, makes 7800 FAHRENHEIT an essential purchase for both your ears AND your conscience.
Bon Jovi's Most Underrated Record.......2006-07-10
This 2nd record of Bon Jovi's never really became as popular as most of his later records. (Especially 'Slippery When Wet,' 'Keep the Faith,' or even 'Crush.') Nevertheless, this is quite arguably his best record. It's an interesting flaw in the market that often someone's arguably best record is not usually the one that sells the most. The best way for me to begin is to say this record screams: "WELCOME TO THE 80s!" After his respectable 1st record, Bon Jovi was to unleash his real abilities. 'In and Out of Love' is a powerful opener that defines the direction of this record. 'Price of Love' maintains the intense tone AND quality of the record; 'Only Lonely' combines sorrow and intensity quite well; 'King of the Mountain' is more upbeat and actually quite thrashy; 'Silent Night' releases the tension for awhile and offers us a moment of well done sorrow; 'Tokyo Road' starts with an oriental tone but then jumps to the other extreme and quite well at that. 'Hardest Part Is the Night' is arguably the greatest song on the record. It is a sad toned song that maintains a strong intensity. The contrasts seem to flatter each other well. 'Run to You' is a more simple song, but it keeps the tone of the record; 'Fall to the Fire' is another high point. It's a haunting song that has intense lyrics, and the choruses only make it more haunting; 'Secret Dreams' keeps the tone of the record and ends it on a happier note. This may not be his most popular record, but listening to it will probably make you wonder why. I have heard all his records from 'Bon Jovi' to 'Have a Nice Day.' And '7800' never lost its place as my favorite one.
awesome.......2006-03-20
been in love with this album for quite some time now, and trying to catch up with modern technology and replacing my cassettes with cds LOL, even though the band considers this one of their worst albums, i absolutely love it!

Excellent performances of a selection of Herrmann's later film scores.......2007-06-15
Esa-Pekka Salonen and the Los Angeles Philharmonic produce fine performances of a selection of Herrmann's post-1955 film scores.
The music itself is of variable musical interest.
The music from "The Man who Knew too Much", "Vertigo", "Marnie", "North by Northwest", "Taxi Driver" and "Psycho" shows Herrmann at his best.
"Torn Curtain" and "Fahrenheit 451" find Herrmann at his least inspired and it is a pity Salonen didn't jettison these items in favour of something else.
The performances cannot be faulted and lovers of Herrmann's music will find much to enjoy here.
Classic, at reduced price.......2006-08-15
As much (if not more) than any other film composer, Bernard Herrmann's music stands up to listening independent of the films. The emphasis here is on Herrmann's scores for Hitchcock, when both men were arguably at their creative heights.
Note: this is NOT a collection of original soundtrack recordings. However, Salonen and the LA Philharmonic at absolutely top-notch, and the recording is beautiful. Certain subtleties are actually easier to hear on this recording than on some of the originals.
As if I couldn't recommend this highly enough, the price has been reduced on this reissue! This deserves a wide audience, don't hesitate to buy it.

Fahrenheit - Heartfelt and Timeless..........2007-02-25
Fahrenheit is a beautiful Toto album. And that's really saying a lot. Another Amazon reviewer summed up Fahrenheit perfectly: "Summer and romance" - that really says everything you need to know. There's a certain romantic mystique, a kind of autumn-like, gorgeous ethereal quality to this album that I really only find on this album and to a certain extent "The Seventh One". It really encapsulates the late 80's with beautiful ambiance, perfect instrument dynamics, incredible grooves that turns on a dime. There's also an hint of sadness in the romance, listen to I'll be over you, listen to Somewhere, tonight...it's there - the classic sweet sorrow. Some parts are so ambient and soulful it almost makes you cry - listen to the end of "Lea" with those gorgeous Don Henley backing vocals at the end. Listen to "Could this be love", with those amazing dead-on chorus backing vocals, and gorgeous ending modulations - and feel yourself recapture that youthful first love, that first crush, those first sensations you perhaps never knew you had, or thought you had forgotten. The summer side of the album is equally timeless even though it captures the era perfectly - the title track is classic 1980's and you picture yourself cruising down the street in some empty town with the head rising from the pavement. Listen to "We can make it Tonight" and feel yourself transported back to those halcyon summer nights with a (real or imagined) first love, the innocence that faded long ago. It's all right there, in those blistering, emotional tracks. However, as always with Toto, don't mistake happiness and hopefulness with shallowness - there's always that undercurrent of thoughtfulness and restraint, a perfectionist's attention to taste and penchant for balance. This is mature pop/rock by unparalleled master musicians, evoking images and feelings you never knew you had - or thought you hade lost long ago. Part of the magic is of course in no small part due to the soulful huskiness and emotion of then new vocalist Joseph Williams, as well as the ambient and somewhat restrained playing of Steve Lukather. Part of it is also the organic quality of the added percussion and layered keys. And in the big picture it all works. Everything just works perfectly and flows from start to finish, in a very organic, spiritual and cohesive way - from the opening Jeff Porcaro snare crack to the final Miles Davis saxophone trails. Yes, Fahrenheit is that good. If you want the perfect album to pop into your car's CD player as you drive out on the road this summer, or any summer - Fahrenheit has it all. Or, to put it another way: You may love Isolation or The Seventh One, but you'll fall in love with Fahrenheit.
Stellar Album.......2006-10-19
This was the 2nd Toto album I purchased (IV). For me it demonstrates a commitment to a fantastic album thathas only been reproduced n their latest effort, Falling In Between (a must have). Fahrenheit, though, has paich and S. Porcaro at their perfect best on the boards. The complex yet not overbearing keyboard parts are accents to incredibly strong Williams vocals and Lukather guitars. As always Porcaro on bass and the late Jeff on drums continue to amaze and make this an album that makes you hit "repeat" on the CD player. Williams is even better here than on 7th. This album has a fuller feel than the others with more variations, from a very soft Lea to a jazzy / fusion effort on Till the End and Somewhere Tonight. Without Your Love and I can't Stand It Any Longer are very strong and infectious.
Get this CD, turn the lights down and listen twice. A complete effort from the best band in the world.
The No 1 TOTO album!.......2006-06-25
The best album TOTO has ever made. The title track blares out like something from a Rocky soundtrack. Without Your Love has the distinction of featuring steve Lukather's most beautiful solo ever recorded, dripping with milk and honey. Cant Stand It Any Longer contains his grittiest strong arm riff. I'll Be Over You, Could This Be Love and Lea are the standout ballads. I think of this album as a shiny gold medal in TOTO's collection of platters. Rub it and it shines every time. They really went to town on this one. 'A superlative slice of jazz tinged techno rock' according to one reviewer and I couldn't agree more. I could write forever about this album, it puts my ears in heaven. Such beautiful horns. Does anyone know how they get that incredible musical synergy, how was this album miked, what lengths did Bob Bradshaw go to, how on earth did they program their keyboards to sparkle like that, how did Jeff get his instruments to sound so heavenly? I guess we'll never know....sigh...!
JUST AMAZING.......2005-11-09
Well if you are talking about a album that changed my musical tastes this is it.
When i first heard the new Lead Singer Joseph Williams i knew that i would buy anything he sang on.
What Joseph bought to the table is simple.
Energy and great driving songs.
The track that got Joseph the gig with Toto was We Can Make It Tonight.
What a song to bring to the table.
This is the best cd they ever made.
His voice is pitch perfect.
The 3 killer songs on this cd are WE CAN MAKE IT TONIGHT...COULD THIS BE LOVE... TILL THE END...
The only downside to this cd is that Lukather sings some of the tracks when he should have left the vocals to Joseph.
5/5
Mellow TOTO!.......2004-06-24
After the quite boring Isolation-album, I am happy that Toto took a different turn on Fahrenheit and changed their leadsinger from the high-pitched, heavy-rock sounding Fergie Frederiksen to the more soulful Joseph Williams. Although this album never reaches the high level of Toto (debut), Tambu or IV, it has some really shining moments. The songs here are mostly very relaxed and soulful and overall I get a feeling of summer when listening to it. The classic hit I'll be over you never gets out of style even though the sound is clearly from 1986. I never get tired of this song, and somehow it always puts me in a very positive mood. Other songs, such as Somewhere tonight, Could this be love and the Miles Davis-driven Don`t stop me now makes it up for a very mellow atmospheare, and...most of all: great songs! I could without a doubt live without the Michael Jackson-like Fahrenheit. This is way too 80es, and way to "synthesized" for me. The first two songs Till the end and We can make it tonight doesn't have much to offer, either. It's just very casual radio-pop-rock from the mid-80es, with melodies that are just about OK, but nothing more!
Anyway, Fahrenheit is a very nice and relaxable album. Enjoy it!

Customer Reviews:
A copy in every household . . ........2003-02-09
This disc is so chock-full of classic scores from classic films that every movie-and-music lover should own a copy. Thanks to Robert Townson for producing this collection and the entire Varese film score catalog. My favorite tracks from this disc are "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf"; "Star Trek: The Motion Picture"; and "Midway".
A sampler feat. some of the greatest film scores in history........2001-09-06
Words cannot convey what a collection like this means to a film music collector such as myself. Varese Saraband has been releasing quality film scores and music for the last 20 plus years. My vinyl and CD collections burst with so much great stuff from Varese. One day I was looking in the bins of my local record store and noticed this little gem of a collection. I looked at it and saw a virtual cornucopia of the great film score cues for only $ (and 2 discs). So I purchased it and opened it up. Much to my surprise, the booklet is chock full of information about each scoring session and pictures to boot. I also learned more about some of these wonderful pieces as well. Well thanks to Mr. Townson and this nice collection, I plan to purchase some of the recordings these cues were released on since I don't own classics like Viva Zapata, Alex North's 2001, Superman (not the Varese version, I do have the other release), and Patton. Guess I will have to save a few pennies, but it will be worth it. I recommend this collection to anybody who wants to discover and learn about the history of film music. I also think it's a great listen from the first song to the last on both discs. My compliments to Varese on a great collection of classics (and keeping it under $).
"the man behind Varese Sarabande ~ Robert Townson".......2001-04-06
The music that this label releases is without a doubt in a class by themselves, always perfection. Here we have the 500th CD release from ~ "The Man Behind The Music" ~ Mr. Robert Townson. So much care is taken with each album, that you feel you are witnessing the birth of a newborn baby, and that may be just what it is.
For those of us who buy each album ~ people who work to create them ~ the artwork ~ musicians ~ and a list of some of the most talented composers and conductors ~ John Barry, Elmer Bernstein, John Debney, Georges Delerue, Cliff Eidelman, Jerry Goldsmith, Bernard Herrmann, Michael Lang, Henry Mancini, Joel McNeely, Alfred Newman, Alex North, Miklos Rozsa, Dimitri Shostakovich, Frederic Talgorn, Franz Waxman, Rick Wentworth and John Williams ~ and as always the sound quality and performances by the Royal Scottish National Orchestra, Seattle Symphony Orchestra, London Symphony Orchestra and National Philharmonic Orchestra is dynamically flawless and simply superb.
This economically priced 2-CD-Set ~ pure film score sampling ~ is worth it's weight in gold. One should not have a favorite from this vast collection, but if asked ~ it would be "TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD" (1962) composer Elmer Bernstein took it to the limit and beyond, the story-line, cast and score was the perfect marriage.
A big, big thank you to ~ Matthew Joseph Peak (cover/session photography) ~ Jonathan Allen, Geoff Foster, Bernie Kirsh, Mike Ross, Mike Sheady and Al Swanson (recording engineers) ~ Rich Breen (mastering engineer) ~ and for the extensive 28 page liner-note booklet featuring "behind the scenes" memories of these past 500 albums, may we look forward to future classics on the next 500 CD's from producer...ROBERT TOWNSON!

I WILL KEEP IT SHORT.......2007-05-20
I could blabber on like alot of the reviewers here but it wold just be retreading old ground . This album is Too Good for words.
Super-genius chill out music.......2006-08-22
There's something magical about this CD. The electric piano, guitar, and bass are really mellow and pretty--they have a warm, lullaby effect. It's probably not good music to listen to while operating heavy machinery. The ingenuity of the music comes from the spastic, twitchy drum and percussion sequences. It's like a dot matrix printer got drunk and tried to play along with a lounge group. Seriously, you have to try this. Go to TTA's website, and listen to "Farenheit Fair Enough" and feel yourself get all mellow and tingly.
I'm not sure how to say this, but this is music you LISTEN to. This is audiophile music--you know, people who can justify buying speakers for $2000 apiece, and don't use them to watch movies. In fact, this album kind of only works on good stereos. If you try to play it in a boombox, or with pc speakers, or in most cars, you'll just hear the dot matrix printer/jar full of marbles sounds, and you'll miss the whole song underneath. These are complex arrangements, and they deserve to be reproduced on equipment that really lets each sound breathe and be appreciated. Okay, so that sounds lofty. But try it on a great sound system, and you'll know what I mean when I say this music is genius.
I love Telefon Tel Aviv and Auditory Underground........2006-01-04
Telefon Tel Aviv is an incredible group with an extremely unique personality which is hardly found in the US. Their intricate music constructions are like ear candy. IMHO Fahrenheit Far Enough is a necessity in any intelligent music lover's collection.
ALSO, If you like them, you'll like Auditory Underground (www.Auditory Underground.com), they even have a review from Joshua Eustis from Telefon Tel Aviv on their website. They're definately worth checking out. I'm not sure if Amazon lets you post a link but ill try:

Hope you enjoy both of these groups!
FAHRENHEIT FAR OUT!!!!.......2005-12-13
As you can tell from the number of reviews I've written, that I'm a man who loves diverse music (and has a lot of downtime at work--but please don't tell my boss!!). Telefon Tel Aviv came to my attention during my exploration for new music, and am I glad that I have an insatiable desire for and open mind to different types of music. I find these guys to be very mysterious from the hypnotic-glitchy grooves they create. Grooves that will have you dozing off at the wheel if you play them after a night at the club--or grooves that will have you bumpin' and grindin' on that special someone in the late night hours after a martini or two. If you like chill out music with a little somethin' somethin' in it, you'll love "Fahrenheit Fair Enough"--and if you love this bed of work, you'll definitely love their equally impressive follow-up "Map of What is Effortless".
Great album.......2005-04-21
Great sound, very chill, relaxed, ambient. Like Thievery Corp, but a little more electronic-sounding. Still, I recommend it if you're looking for some new mellow, interesting stuff to add to your collection.

Customer Reviews:
Bon Jovi's sophomore effort.......2005-03-05
Bon Jovi's sophomore effort, released in 1985 following their self-titled debut the previous year, was not much more acknowledged than the first album. This album spawned only one Top 20 hit,IN AND OUT OF LOVE. After the 1986 release of SLIPPERY WHEN WET,pop/rock music fans started paying more attention to the band and in no time, that album was selling like hotcakes.
Their finest hour.......2004-02-14
7800° Fahrenheit (1985.) Bon Jovi's second album.
Circa 1983, a little song called Runaway proved that a young man named Jon Bongiovi just might have a chance in the music industry. He put together a band, and their first album, released in 1984, was nothing short of excellent. The band even got to open for Judas Priest on their American tour! Unfortunately, the album didn't win over much of an audience (which is a shame, since that album is some of their finest work.) To compensate for the (popularity) failure of their first album, the band rush-recorded its second album, with high hopes of gaining a larger audience. In 1985, 7800° Fahrenheit was released. Read on for my review.
In And Out Of Love, a hard rocker reminiscent of High 'N' Dry-era Def Leppard, kicks off the album. This is an excellent rocker, and just like any opening track of an album should, it grabs your attention and holds onto it. The band had a minor hit with their power ballad, Only Lonely, and why not? It was an excellent song, one of the finest of its kind. King Of The Mountain is an excellent hard rocker that almost certainly won't fail to please - don't pass it by! Silent Night is NOT the Christmas song - it's pure power rock excellence, as only Bon Jovi could do. Tokyo Road has a highly bizzare intro, but the rest of the song is nothing short of excellent. Always Run To You and Secret Dreams are gloomy yet melodic hard rockers that are some of the finest tracks this band has ever shelled out. My favorite Bon Jovi song ever recorded, The Hardest Part Is The Night, can be found on this album as well. It's the perfect fusion of hard stuff and soft stuff, and it should have been a much bigger hit.
It's hard to believe that Bon Jovi ever released an album this gloomy and heavy. They rush-recorded this album, but you'd never be able to tell - every song is excellent, and ultimately this is the band's finest hour. It's a shame this album never gets the proper credit, though (even Jon Bongiovi himself in the modern age considers this to be one of the band's weakest albums! What a moron!) If you want to experience the band in their prime, get this album. Also, don't overlook their self-titled debut - if you liked it, you'll like this, and vice versa.
TEARING it up With Jovi.......2003-09-05
This is not the Bon Jovi Good Time Rock 'N' Roll Hour, that's for sure. Jon wrote this album while reeling from a breakup with high school sweetheart Dorothea Hurley (who in a later decade would finally become Mrs. Bon Jovi). There are plenty of anthem-like songs here, but none of them have that party ring to them because the boys in the band are all sweating it as this is a sophomore effort, they are trying to stay above water and become a success, and they have to prove themselves as a hard-rock act. They have to provide a hit single, which they thought they had in "Only Lonely" but as it turns out, it is too somber to rock out to and to rockin' to impress teeny bopper girls (unless they are already die-hard Jovi fans in love with Jon's baby blues). Still, the album is well-written, the production is slick and the band shines on this, Bon Jovi's grittiest work. So grab a beer or a box of Kleenex and sit back with Jon as he tells you all about where it hurts. You'll relate!
A good start.......1999-09-17
For all you Bon Jovi lovers out there this is a great cd to start with. Their first cd was extremely good material but this cd seems geered more to their style. It shows a very young Jon Bon Jovi finding his writing style and the power within his voice shines through more with this one. It's a great cd and I think you'll thoroughly enjoy it.
Good Classic 80's Metal.......1999-04-07
This is the ultimate 80's hair metal band, and if you like this era, this CD is a must have...loud guitars, pounding drums, and of course, lot's of hair...

Captured on this one disc are the great film scores Bernard Herrmann did for several classic science fiction films of the '50s and '60s. Herrmann did not go in for simple atmospherics and cheap orchestral tricks with his music. He knew that the music would have to conjure a mental world all its own. This is especially true in "The Seventh Voyage of Sinbad". It's a tone poem Rimsky-Korsakov could have written. The best here is "The Day the Earth Stood Still" with its use of the (then) revolutionary theremin. It's a clear masterpiece, all on its own. --Paul Cook
Customer Reviews:
The other essential Herrmann CD.......2004-08-25
I like to think of this CD as being the "Forbidden Planet" of film scores CDs -- technically marvelous, consistently enthralling on an emotional and mental level, and way ahead of its time.
Unfortunately it is not available as I write this. Last time I visited this Amazon site, there was one CD for sale for almost $60. You'll have to make up your own mind if this music is worth that much to you. I made my choice long ago to own this and keep it in my library, conceivably forever.
With five film scores, 35 tracks and 72 minutes of the most high grade science fiction music, this CD should be considered the definitive source for Bernard Herrmann's non-Hitchcock film scores. Not only did he conduct the National Philharmonic Orchestra in these recordings, the composer approved of the Phase 4 recording and mixing. It is, as the notes say, a unique listening experience.
I have found this CD to be a constant source of imagination, vision and scope in film music that still has no peer 30 years after its production. The opening sequence to "Journey To The Center of the Earth" is better than it ever was in the theater, where the music was a hackneyed backdrop to an incredilbe film. In this CD, the music dwarfs the film action.
My favorite sequence in this issue is Herrmann's work for the Ray Bradbury novella "Fahrenheit 451", which was recast in some minds recently when "Fahrenheit 911" appeared in theaters throughout the country.
Every bit of the miracle of that little film is projected through this eerily wonderful music, which seems to comprise a world of its own. The sections help recall Sontag's first trip on the fire engine, the bedroom fire and the finale.
The lengthiest tract on this disk is the near 27 minute set from the film "Gulliver's Travels". I've never seen the movie but will attest that the music is out of this world in a very British way. This section seems closer to following the musical rules for a suite than any other on this disk.
Decca had the good sense to return the Bernard Herrmann-conducted Hitchcock scores to circulation, so maybe they will do the same with this miraculous disk. Again, the notes are nothing to write home about, but even with that considered no lover of film music or the music of Bernard Herrmann can consider their library complete without this disk.

"Herrmann via Joel McNeely by Varese Sarabande".......2000-10-23
Once again, Varese Sarabande and Joel McNeely prove lightening does strike twice with this superb release - "Fahrenheit 451", featuring the Seattle Symphony Orchestra exquistely performing legendary icon Bernard Herrmann's brilliant music.
Orchestrated for strings, harp, and percussion the impressonistic "PRELUDE" sets the mood in creating an ambivalence about Britain's new order..."FIRE ENGINE" is the rhythm blend of percussion, full scale orchestra..."THE BEDROOM" waltzing strings with mournful tones, simply haunting..."THE READING", Herrmann in the purist sense, strings move in and out of octaves, awesome beyond words..."FLOWERS OF FIRE" undercurrent themes, never settling in one place, but movement constant movement, wonderful effect..."FLAMETHROWER" endless descent, strings interwoven with brass and resounding percussion..."THE ROAD" this compassionate composition, which Herrmann described as a "song of humanity", haunting but enchanting at the same time...believe our legendary composer was still at his peak, when composing this score.
The balance of this album - "THE MAN IN THE GRAY FLANNEL SUIT", "TENDER IS THE NIGHT", "THE GHOST AND MRS MUIR" and "ANNA AND THE KING OF SIAM", no matter the subject, Herrmann created another dimension, mystique and understanding of the story-line, which the listener could rely...Herrmann always came through with flying colors...thank you Varese Sarabande for pointing this out with this definitive album!
