3 out of 5 stars Ring around the blowsey~.......2006-01-12

I am a die hard P-funk fan, but this is the weakest link. Not saying it's a bad album, however there were a whole lot of musicians on this joint. I believe that they brought in everybody to get the project done. I love "Let's Play House" and my favorite is "Body Language". "Agony Of Defeat" got a lot of airplay in the DC area. Bootsy is all over the place here. It was time to say "goodbye" to Casablanca. now I heard the remnant of Pfunk & the Rubber band nemed themselves "Sweatband". CD not availiable yet.

4 out of 5 stars Four Star material if you are a true funkateer.......2005-08-28

Once again, another difficult LP (CD) to judge. No true hits on this one, but if you loved "The Humpty Dance", check out "Let's Play House," a song that teases you for 2/3's of the song before it cuts loose. The sample here does not do it justice. As a matter of fact, none of the samples here give the album justice. Good luck finding the collections of jams anywhere because it will be hard. Of course funkateers will want to hear "Peek-A-Groove" and "Crush It" and my old personal funky theme song (College radio days) "Agony of Defeet".

2 out of 5 stars Not essential P-Funk!!.......2005-05-12

I only recommend this to hardcore p-funk fans. This has got to be the weakest of all their records. It's a matter of taste though, and if you like synthesizers and that obscure 80's funk sound, minus the drum machines, then you might like this. Bootsy is all over this one too, which is I why I was surprised by its weakness. He must have been more focused on his solo work at the time. The only reason I gave this any stars is because it is Parliament. Out of all the p-funk records, only two are below par, and this is one of them.

5 out of 5 stars UUUNH!.......2003-12-11

I can't stop funkin it.It is truly an underrated classic, there ain't a weak track on here especially body language and peek a groove-which has bubbly-bangin bassline, tight ass synthesizer effects in the background to make you vanish from sight in broad daylight.Crush It and Trombipulation are also ahead of time.If you don't funk with that 79-81 p-funk you might not like this cd.Well I could go on and on about this cd but to understand how out of realm itis you have to hear it yourself. Chuuch!

4 out of 5 stars album will stand the test of time..........2003-11-19

Many a funk brother fell out with the Mob for this record. Said they were riding on 'e'. But again I tell you, upon closer inspection its a classic. Bootsy all over it on bass, guitar and drums. Described by George Clinton as the ultimate Sir Nose album, we find the band going for the New Doo Review, getting the conk-hair process back in fine fashion and still a blueprint for Trick James to copy from (as in Process and the DooRags). A lil dab of this funk will do ya. The Parliament swan song for Casablanca and launching of Clinton's quickly defunct Choza Negra Records. Sounds like they had a helluva lot of fun producing this record, especially cuts like "Agony of DeFeet" the title track and "Crush It". Love the classic string arrangements on "Long Way Around" , an astounding Clinton vocal tourdeforce.
