Get Funky ~n~ Enjoy!.......2007-05-14
This CD single is part of a 2 CD set and is off Janet Jackson's album titled, 20 Y.O. The reason I enjoyed it was for the dance beats, energetic styles, and funky R&B grooves. The title track is backed by the enhanced video and 2 Remixes.
The Album Version [3:15] is the song many have already heard with the nice catchy beats, great lively dance styles, and fun filled lyrics. The hooks are catchy, and definitely excellent in sound and production.
Junior Vasquez Club Remix [7:17] has a different introduction, a more repetitive echoing trance like effect bringing the days of Madonna's Erotica and 90's into the spotlight but in a Janet twist. The vocals are vastly present yet the song takes a different direction as the bass lines are filled with boom, thumping slamming styles along her so much adored man Jermaine Dupri in the sidelines. If anything, Junior Vasquez has shown time and time again that he can spin, mix, and remix in the funkiest, most spectacular and wildest ways. The drums accompanied with the echoes are vastly heard creating a nice club dance ambiance. This is highly recommended for dance fans or partygoers.
Bimbo Jones Club Remix [7:13] is not at all like the previous track. The melody has a deeper sound with a repetition of the lyrics, act bad don't hurt me... look sexy talk dirty... get me so... x 4] Again, the beats jump up to add much energizing styles craving a night at the club, a dance mood, or just a feeling of shaking and going crazy to the beats. This has more of Janet's deeper sounding vocals accompanied by a nice background of Jermaine, instruments not heard on the previous, and much more!

From disco to house, all 12" versions!!!.......2005-08-05
One of the best volumes in the series, this one is loaded with familiar tracks. My only real complaint is the 3 minute version of Rock the Boat, a song available in this length on numerous compilations. It seems out of place on a collection of 12" singles. Other volumes are called "Groovin You" and "more more more." Track times are:

There are many, many Pointer Sisters compilations on release.
This one, "So Excited" (BMG Special Products) is a good buy in that it has a solid song selection for a very reasonable price.
Highly recommended.

awesome title track.......2004-05-31
The very first time I heard the title track on the radio, I loved it. I never buy music and yet I bought the tape. It was stolen from my car in 1994 & I figured oh well. But 10 years later I'm still humming the title track & wanting the album and finally re-purchasing it in CD format! I still never buy music but here I am buying the same album twice. Obviously, recommended.
Straight Company Is the Best Gospel Group Ever!.......2002-06-18
I have listened and seen many gospel groups but, I have seen straight company live in person and followed them, all the way back when they sang on the wings of a snow white dove, and they spiritually lift me up everytime I listen to any of their CD's.. I really like this group because they touch me spiritually.. I have grown up in church of christ all my life and I enjoy this music so much.. Please ... IF you have not heard this group, u need to get a Cassette or CD, because you are missing out!!! God has blessed them with voices to sing his praises and touch our hearts Spiritually, and they do just that!!

Straight Company goes way back with me, when they came to Kenova Church of Christ in Huntington West Virginia, which is where I attend, I first started listening to them, and I havent ever quit listening.... IM A FAN! ha ha... God has blessed them with the talent to sing and they have definately used their talent to not only make a sinner want to become a christian thru such spiritual singing and uplifting, but also to make a christian want to be stronger in faith, and also give god the praise and glory that is well deserved... THIS GROUP IS AWESOME IN PERSON, and .. I would RECCOMEND BUYING both cd's, Because their is a message for all in every single song they sing. May GOD BLESS EACH AND EVERY ONE OF THEM, and keep up the GREAT work!! :)
