Editorial Reviews
Matthew Breen, OUT Magazine, March 2004
West's superbly schizophrenic style is an immutable part of his experience, it's more memoir than text alone can provide

Product Description
Timm's solo debut is a musical autobiography. It is the story of his life from his roots as a child of 10 growing up in the red dirt of rural Arkansas, to the esteemed artist and educator he is today. This album is a work that comfortably weaves elements of rap, hip hop, house, spokem word and R&B. The songs focus on pivotal change interludes in a life: age 10, 16, 25 and 30. Poetic verse, lyrics and song characterize a period in the young man's experience. The story ends with a reflection on the quality of that life. This album is a soulful amalgamation of moods, rhythms and feelings

5 out of 5 stars An artful chronicle of one yourg man's journey into manhood.......2006-07-13

Tim'm's album is a visceral, deep and artful journey of a young man into manhood. All the emotional way points are skillfully chronicled in verse, hip hop rhythm and harmony. The album is a complete journey and its component tracks work well alone too. I have listened to this album repeatedly over the past few weeks and find it fresh, artful and deep each time I hear it. Tim'm is a serious male voice in spoken word, on a peer with Gil Scott Heron. Tim'm is bringing voice and dignity to the journey of the gay young man into manhood. Well done!

SUPPORT Tim'm and get RED DIRT!

Wow! Tim'm and his work is what the world is starving for! Tim'm is definately iconoclast and non-conformist. The system is so set up that it feeds off of fear and the status quo. We need to be this way or have that inorder to be loved...but with Tim's music, you focus on something deeper, something spiritual. Something with substance! Something intellectual not pseudo!

The mainstream does not teach that. It teaches to master the opposite. It feeds us lies that never makes us feel full. We feel like fools with a constant hunger. Tim'm
s music reminds us of something different. A healthier way to be. There is a different way to live life and different ways to be happy. People need to hear this stuff! It is like eating at momma's table eating your favorite comfort food.

My personal favorites...Red Dirt (So clever in how he calls home, Red Dirt).....Analytics (I am going to borrow that from now on!)...BLINGIZM (I practically looked insane laughing while I was driving listening to such witty mockery!) LOVE IT!

EVERYONE GO GET THE ALBUM AND SUPPRT TIM'M!

5 out of 5 stars Best Album of the Year.......2005-04-23

You grooved all year to Amel, Anthony Hamilton, Saadiq, Teena Marie, Roots, Dwelle, Le Tigre, Bjork, maybe even Brandy, Truth Hurts and John Legend. But somehow you missed this one - the best album of the year in a year with an uncommon number of superb soul and hip hop records. Tim'm creates his own niche with this autobiographical journey from Arkansas to Oakland and back again, telling a gripping story of a young man's quest to discover and uncover his own truth and celebrating every step of his path. His unique fusion of spoken word, hip hop, trip hop, jazz vocals and soul serves him well, whether the song is a relaxed reminscence or a smokin dance floor throwdown, and his grooves, beats and words are compelling and musically uplifting and satisfying. This is one CD that can be listened to from beginning to end without no dead spots, and when various tracks pop up on my Nomad, they sound bright and hot. Tim'm has managed to craft a record that is as deep as it is enjoyable. You've been told!
