I purchased the CD and was playing it in my classroom before school started and my students heard and really liked it. They asked me to keep it on. It is a wonderful CD.

Although I am the author, singer and executive producer of this CD, it is probably one of the best Gospel CD produced this year. My comments are confirmed by the number of testimonials of how this CD has impacted the lives of so many.

The great thing about this CD is that it keeps you flowing. I call it "The Gospel Sunshine" because it makes you want to ride. The public should know that this CD was done in mind for those who want Gospel music with the windows down and the top back, which is the way we like to "roll" with our music in the State of Florida. In addition, the instrumentals are user friendly for those who are stuck at their work stations and need a little lift.

TRACK LISTING (Morales' mix is best, Roger's 2nd best).......2007-07-31

This was Juliet Roberts' follow-up to "I Want You". It was produced by Dancin' Danny D. who is better known for his House productions. Here he takes things in an r&b direction. In my book, David Morales, takes the song to it's rightful place on a club floor, with elegant piano riffs, and a flowin' House vibe. One drawback on Morales' mix, however is the lengthy and overly repetious intro which repeats the vocal sample "caught in the middle" as the mix builds from no beats into the music. The best thing here is to begin this mix right when the beat drops out while the piano is going. The radio mix has a much better intro but djs will probally disagree hotly!

Roger Sanchez comes in second with his Gospel Revival Mix which has a nice gospel-tinged piano riff. Oscar G's radio mix is sort of jazz and more along the lines of the original. There is a Murk remix which is better.

Toned down but still great........2002-06-29

'Caught in the Middle' is the first single from a1's international release Make It Good and also the first song promoted from the US release a1. No domestic single is planned.
a1 members write on all tracks, and produce on 2 and 3.

CD2 contains acoustic versions of the title track and of `One more try.' The original version of `One more try' appeared on international release The A-List and also can be found on the more recent US album a1. Also included on the single is non-album track 2:59.

1. Caught in the middle - Acoustic 3:05
Without strings, keyboard, etc. the song moves even further from boyband territory. Lack of technological extras, the vocals shine all the more. The power of tambourines is clearly evident.
The original version is just a touch better, probably because I'm a sucker for strings.

2. One more try - Acoustic 3:30
Guitar only on this one. Sentiment of lyrics is well-matched to the sparser acoustic presentation.
The original version did not appear on a single, and the appearance of an acoustic version here serves as a sort of bridge between the international albums The A-List and Make It Good. It fills out the disc quite well and is in the spirit on the newer material.

3. 2:59 3:13
Starts as one of those poppy punk songs, but includes more harmonizing, because they aren't afraid of that sort of thing. Punctuated early on by a couple Hanson-esque woo-woos. Upbeat jam in stark contrast to the somber mood of the other tracks. Non-album track.

`One more try' was performed acoustically on tour and a videoclip was produced for an international DVD package. It shows a1 seated as Christian plays the guitar. Quite a laidback affair. Behind the scenes clips of the making of the `Caught in the Middle' video are also included plus some pictures and a handy-dandy poster.

This is a good disc, not so much for the video as for the alternate takes on the songs. Less production on the tracks here than the other versions, yet the group still comes off admirably. Especially good if you like low-key presentation a la singer-songwriters, which is what the members of a1 are.

A1's first big song in New Zealand!.......2002-09-15

A1 have visited New Zealand. Ever since they have this song has blown up here. You see and hear it everywhere. On the radio, on tv and people are always talking about it. It currently resides at #19 on NZ charts.
Anywayz, onto my review. This song is my favourite out of all A1's releases (Even though I also like "Take On Me" too), because it's sooo damn catchy! I like the guitar beginning and their vocals. Ben sounds the best and Mark sounds good too. The video is kind of funny, kind of sad. They have great voices and it's a shame it's only now they hit it big. This is a catchy song that will be liked by all.

Catchy pop song with a more organic feel than the usual boyband fare. Guitar abounds. Most uptempo cut on single. Upon release, this song garnered the most airplay of any song a1 had released as a single. It's hard to say how it will do in the US, but there isn't much like it out at the moment, so that particular roadblock doesn't exist.

2. You're not in love 4:24
Begins with piano and guitar, then accompanied by drums. A bit softer than the following song. Understated verses going into fullbodied refrains. Non album track.

3. Power of desire 3:15
Piano crescendos into guitar-laden hook. Power ballad-ish. Snazzy piano and guitar interlude towards the end. Seems a bit short, but how much begging is really appropriate anyway? Non album track.

Also includes video of the band being torn apart by conflicting emotions in the snowy wilderness, pictures, and on location clips.

I enjoy this single. The quality of the non album tracks is quite good and I appreciate enhancements like videos.

Since there will be no US single, and the amount of time music channels spend on things other than videos has not decreased nearly enough, this is a good purchase to make. :)
