      This is one of the better disco songs in existence, with this version at over 11 minutes.

      This has to be one of my favourite CDs in my fairly extensive disco collection. Every track is a cracker, and all in its full length, you get over 14 minutes of "Come on dance dance" and over 11 minutes of "Touch me on my hot spot".

      Every track is very distinctly a Boyce/Dillard production, and if you like any of their other stuff (e.g. Constellation Orchestra, Lorraine Johnson) you'll love this. Highly recommended.

      in my opinion this is a ok album with quite uptempo tracks the biggie is (come on and dance) with a great opener, percussions and ending. it includes those classic sexy female vocals, with a solid driving pace.
      another of my faves is keep those lovers dancing which is similar to the above.

      For those that love operetta, most think of Vienese operettas of Johann Strauss Sr and Jr, Lehar, etc and the American Operettas of Romberg and Victor Herbert, etc. Just a bit later there was an English exponent of the form, one Ivor Novello, who was a contemporary of Noel Coward, who wrote the most glorious Romantic songs. This CD, absolutely gloriously sung is a wonderful place to start an exploration of this remarkable composer who also performed in all his shows, in non singing roles. England has through the years produced a number of wonderful sopranos who have specialized in the light opera genre. June Bronhill dominated the 1960s and 70s. Marilyn Hill Smith is her heir aparant, blessed with the most ravishing soprano, full and rich across the range, with a radiant top that rivals Joan Sutherland. Her performance of Bernstein's Glitter and Be Gay on Jay records version of Candide is one of my favorites. This CD is my favorite Marilyn Hill Smith recording. I haul it out when I have been very good and deserving of a special treat. If you are not familiar with the glorious melodies of Ivor Novello, start here, you won't be sorry.

        Perhaps it's because I listened to Amai so much, I can't get as into this CD. The CD opens with a rousing Brazilian song. The energy of it reminds me strongly of the last track on Amai. The tracks after this one aren't quite as rousing and I feel that the song would have been better placed at the end of the album.

        Other than that, the CD is better produced than the other two and you can hear it.

        Beautiful music sung by an award winning vocal group of lesbian/feminist women from Champaign-Urbana, Illinois. Everything about this cd is top notch - from the ceramic art works and book design to the quality and diversity of music. It's simply gorgeous.

        While this is not a "too bad" release, it could've been better. It does serve as a good intro to the Gentrys, but is somewhat lacking. After the title song, everything else is sorta lightweight stuff with the exception of "Everyday I Have To Cry". Speaking of "Everyday", the take here is different from that released on the original MGM 45 that was from the MGM LP "Gentry Time". Why an alternate is presented I don't have a clue. Not bad, though. Of interesting note is the fact a young pre-wrestling star Jimmy Hart is on this compilation.

        This CD will definitely get you moving. The combo of songs reminds me of one of those "various artists" collections only better. Keep On Dancin' is one of the all-time best dance tunes ever! And I was surprised to find other songs I was familiar with but didn't realize it was The Gentrys. A rock and roll library isn't complete without this CD.
