A Talent Lost Way Too Soon!.......2007-06-16

I was very surprised and saddened to hear about the death of Hi-Five's lead singer Tony Thompson on June 1, 2007. I always thought he was a very talented young singer who probably should have been more well-known than he apparently was. Hi-Five only made 3 albums in the early 90's. Tony Thompson releases his one and only solo cd called "Sexsational" in 1995. This greatest hits cd was released in 1994. The producers who they worked with through those years included here: Teddy Riley, A young R. Kelly, JOE & Keith Miller, Timmy Allen, Eric Foster White, and Art & Rhythm. Riley produced their first #1 single "I Like The Way (The Kissing Game) in 1990. My personal favorites are: She's Playing Hard To Get, Quality Time, Never Should Have Let You Go, Unconditional Love, and non-single She Said. The reason I'm reviewing this Hi-Five instead of other ones, is because it includes 3 new songs (at the time) that I believe few have probably heard. I don't believe any of these songs were released as singles, and I can't recall ever hearing them on the radio or ever seeing a video for them. The 3 songs are: Birthday Girl, What Are You Doing Tonight, and That Was Then, This Is Now. I consider these 3 songs to be maybe the strongest songs Hi-Five ever made, especially What Are You Doing Tonight, which is my favorite among the 3, and one of my favorites period. Unfortunately the group lost a few members after their 2nd cd was released. One left for spiritual reasons I believe, while the other was injured in a serious automobile accident. The group added 2 new members to replace them, but the group was never quite the same, even though the material was probably even better. 7 hit singles over the mere span of 3 years in quite remarkable. Other than the teenage girls that screamed for them and loved them at the time, the group didn't experience the kind of success I thought worthy of them, Tony Thompson again in particular. Tony died way too young, and I always thought he had a chance to return when the time was right. Unfortunately that isn't gonna happen now. Tony may no longer be with us, but his music and videos will live on. Praise to Hi-Five! R.I.P Tony Thompson!"She said Tony, no one's gonna love like I do. Think I believed her? Well I did! I have this cd and will be listening to it this week in memory of Hi-Five's lead singer Tony Thompson who died Friday June 1st in Waco,Texas he will be truly missed.May u rest in peace Lil Tony

EVEN THOUGH I DONT HAVE THE PHYSICAL ALBUM, I HAVE HEARD ALL OF THE SONGS ONCE IN MY LIFETIME AND I MUST SAY THAT I AM VERY IMPRESSED WITH THIS COLLECTION. THIS IS TRULY A GREATEST HITS FOR THIS GROUP! THEY DID RELEASE ANOTHER ALBUM ENTITLED "THE RETURN" INDEPENDENTLY, BUT I DONT THINK THAT NOR ANYTHING THEY DID GOT MUCH CREDIT FOR THEIR SKILLS. THEY ARE A VERY TALENTED GROUP OF GUYS THAT HAD A UNIQUE SOUND ALL THEIR OWN. NO ONE COULD OR CAN IMITATE THEM! R.I.P. TO TONY THOMPSON (JUNE 1, 2007) WE LOVE YOU ALWAYS!

Faithful to this one.......2006-02-15

Its been awhile, but i've listening to this one here a lot lately. From the opening track to the final song, it's easy to see that with "Faithful". Hi Five comes into there own on this cd. Some of the key songs for me: As One, What Can I Say to You (Justify My Love) w/Nuttin' Nyce, I'm in Need and Unconditional Love. This is a cd that i can folks should not sleep on in any sense of the word.

The only complaint that i really have with this cd is that its way too short. I mean only eight songs and its over in less than 40 minutes that however doesnt stop me from really enjoying and listening to what this cd has to offer. If your fan of Hi Five and don't have this CD. You should really give it a shot and even if your not. After one listen you'll be all into Hi Five like they were just released the other day.

Faithful has all types of songs, uptempo, mid and slow jams that will rock your ears.

A good album but 8 SONGS????.......2004-10-07

HI-Five's Faithful was very good. But 8 songs? I thought they could have done more. This album is really good, and they sound good on quieter numbers like As One. The funky songs like I'm In Need and What Can I Say To You are just as strong here. Unconditional Love and Faithful are some of their best ballads and stand out more on this album. Hi-Five made a good follow up.

A slept on disc from a good group.......2001-03-17

Hi-Five members were getting older when they released this CD. They decided to mature early unlike groups like The Jacksons and New Editon(the greateset R&B in history). The songs were good but the album went unoticed. Tony Thompson's voice proved his skills as am artist and he went on have one solo hit. Supposedly he's on Bad Boy. The stand out songs on the disc are the title track, Uncondtional Love, As One and Ready To Love. As Hi-Five got older they seemd better for ballads and not fast songs.

I have loved Hi-Five ever scince I was little. Ihave all of thier CD`s. I don`t know why they stoped making songs, but Iwish that they would make some more songs.

Excellent Effort.......2006-12-31

This was better than the first. In my opinion this album deserved some awards. "She's Playing Hard To Get" "Quality Time" "She Said" "Fly Away" and "Whenever You Say" are some of my favorite songs on the album.

Good follow to the first CD.......2006-12-12

Hi-Five possesses the perfect blend of soul and R&B. This is best experienced on drives to the beach, back-porch house parties, and nights in the city, dancing in the moonlight. Hi-Five is another easygoing-breed quintet with accompanying producers who also did work with Boys II Men, ever present during this era. "Come and fly with me with me, my love," the group expresses on "Fly Away," sending a message of a cry for freedom and love. Their radio hit single is an engaging jam in which the boys profess that "she's playing hard to get, and she likes me." "Quality Time" is another appealing tune filled with fresh harmonies overlaying a passionate melody. Hi-Five reminds the listener of what it felt like back in the day, reminiscing and realizing that everyone's "a little bit older now, a little bit wiser now." Like the first CD the group is strongest with ballads in particular Quality Time, Fly Away and She Said.

Excellent follow up album! .......2004-10-07

I still think that this Hi-Five album was the best of the three. They sounded more mature here as they had to step up their sound a bit. I still like the funky She's Playing Hard To Get. But the rest of the album has some surprises. The four R. Kelly produced songs are solid and I still love Quality Time. Hmmmm....doesn't that song sound like R. Kelly's Sex Me?--identical sounds. But songs like A Little Bit Older Now, Mary Mary and the funky Video Girl demonstrate their newer image. I still love Fly Away and how the ballad sounds. I still play it sometimes. This was a well done followup and Tony Thompson can sure be SAANGING it at the end of Quality Time and the rest of the album as the lead singer.

i've just find out one of my favorite group was in a accident
and i am very sadden about it.i hope that he makes a full
recovery.we the hi-five need to see more of them on the music
business because the ones that are out dont know nothing about
love.so if you dont have there albums you are missing out on a
lot of true singers.

HI-FIVE WAS ONE OF THE HOTTEST GROUPS WHEN I WAS GROWING UP. I REALLY ADORED THEM AND LOVED EVERY SONG THEY EVER MADE. I WOULD LIKE TO SEE THEM REUNITE AND MAKE HITS LIKE BEFORE. I JUST DISCOVERED THAT ONE OF THE GUYS WAS INJURED AND I'M SORRY TO HEAR THAT. I STILL LOVE THEM THE SAME AND I KNOW THEY WILL RETURN ONEDAY TO DROP THOSE HITS ON ME. I REALLY MISS U GUYS AND YOU'LL ALWAYS BE IN MY HEART.

One of the better teen R&B albums.......2007-03-02

While I'm far from being a teen, this album does bring me back to my teen days. "I Can't Wait Another Minute" was one of my favorite songs back then, and "I Like The Way" was on the radio all the time for a while, while many of us sang along to it in our cars. There are a couple of other nice tracks on here ("Just Another Girlfriend" and "I Just Can't Handle It"), but it's maybe another track or two away from being a complete album. This was Hi-Five's second release, but I thought it was better than their first album release, and probably their best. You may consider buying their Greatest Hits compilation, if you're looking to add Hi-Five to your collection, but you maybe just as well served from this one, considering that the best tracks on their Greatest Hits compilation are from this album.

Great Debut from a slept on disc.......2006-12-12

Kiddie-pop, New Jack vocals, and hip-hop flavored uptempo tracks were Hi-Five's stock-in-trade as they tried to ride the wave of popularity for youthful groups in the early '90s. Their first album did decently and even got them some hit singles I Like The Way,Too Young and Just Another Girlfriend. Hi-Five to me was stronger with their ballads, I Can't Wait Another Minute, I Know Love and The Way You Said Goodbye are all sung with heart felt medlodies.

New Hi-5 song.......2004-04-19

I been a fan of Hi-5 since I was about 8. My baby-sitter used to always play the CD & I liked it. It was jammin from beginning to end. I especially like the slow cuts. But I got a new song by them, I don't know if is a sign of a new album or what. It's called "10 Toes Up". I hope it is a new Hi-5 CD comin out because if it is I will buy it. the best group ever.......2004-02-15

I might only be twelve years old but hi-five is my favorite group. I was only three years old when I first heard their cd. My favorite cd was the first cd named Hi-five. I knew all of the lyrics to the songs on the whole first cd since I was three years old so I am practually in love with the cd. My favorite songs are "I Like The Way(The Kissing Game), I Know Love, and I Can't Wait Another Minute." I wish the group was still singing so I could continue my collection.

the hottest r&b group of all time.......2004-01-12

well i was about 9 years old when there first cd came out.so i have say that they are really great singers. i also rate there albums 5 stars because what other you know can put into having a crush on someone who wannna be with.till this day i still play there songs.my favorites are:quality time,and i can't wait another minute and so on.....and i hope they came out were we can have a crush on someone new.

Ready or Not is the second playful song of Hide n seek with great lyrics by Leone carey. Love is a beautiful song with very good lyrics with feet tapping on the ground "L.O.V.E. I love you and you love me, that's the way it should be"

All songs on this CD are great Fun. Hi-5 is my fav' show on TV and I never miss out any of its show and so when it comes to listening the CD, it's Fun singing and dancing with kids with the gift pack I recently recieved from my bro who been for vacation overseas. Hi-5 caters to wide range of younger kids focusing on their cognitive skills and learning flares. The five have refreshing ideas for kids as they action sing the songs emphasising on different areas of 'intelligence' and bringing in awareness to the kid's world with:

*Language fun of stories, rhymes and games songs,
*Logical thinking and mathematical puzzles of shapes, mazes, patterns,
*Music fun with beat,rythm and melody,
*Body moves such as jumping, hopping n the like,
*Exploring emotional areas through stories to enhance sociol skills etc.

Educational based songs Hi-5 are lively singing sensation that you fall in love with all of the Fabulous Five as they not only have a great voice but also expressions to match with. Tim is lovable and so is Nathan, Kathleen is fun and so is charlie and Kellie! The Karoake version is fun singing the lyrics alongwith It's Party, Love, Ready or not, Robot, Feel the Beat. Five senses, Charlie's ABC, Jump forward, So Many Animals are all great numbers for kids. It's merrier days again for adults who love kiddie music fun. Great CD!!!.......2004-08-18

First of all, I've never really been a fan of synthpop, electro-pop, or whatever you call this type of music. However, when I heard Freezepop's song Super-Sprøde on my Amplitute PS2 game, I just know that I had to get the CD. The best way to describe the music and lyrics to this song is that they're just amazingly fun.

This CD contains the original Super-Sprøde and 6 remixes of the song. It also contains five other songs. I usually find that I'm disappointed with remixes, but a few of these are just as good or better than the original. Each remix is very different from the original and the other remixes...so much different, that it's almost like listening to seven completely different songs. The first three remixes are absolutely great, the next two remixes are just okay, and the last remix I just don't like at all. I was really suprized by the quality of the other songs. Lazy is a great song...and great to sing-along with. The other songs are also very good, with the exception of Freezepop Forever which I can only describe as too "hyper".

Overall, I'd highly recommend this CD. For more information on Freezepop, checkout their website at www.freezepop.net. There you'll find some samples of the songs on this CD.

To the other reviewer who thinks that Super-Sprøde contains the lyrics "Jesus scratched my car"...you might want to listen a little closer, the lyrics are acually "the cutest fans by far"...by hey, I got these lyrics wrong the first time as well.
