5 out of 5 stars Luda.......2005-03-14

I liked this cd, but since its edited, it doesnt have skits, and it sorta sucks cuz u cant hear any of the words. But, it has some awesome songs on it, like Welcome to Atlanta, which is part of the 15th track and "Growing Pains" with Lil Faith. All of the songs are pretty good and ludas fun to listen to. "Move B*tch" was sorta dissapointing cuz the whole spirit of the song was wrecked. I liked the edited sounds on some songs better with sound effects, instead of beeps or blanks. I dont like the deep voiced guy, but he usually picks good rappers to be featured in his songs. Ludacris is sometimes funny too. If you arent like 6 years old then i reccomend getting the PA version. I reccomend all of the other CDs, but I dont have "Back for the First Time", but i heard it was good. "The Red Light District" was ok but it wasnt as good as the other ones. I think that the earlier CDs are better than the later ones, maybe luda is losing his skills or something.

I am a huge fan of Luda...but this CD SUCKS. The unedited version is MUCH MUCH bettter

5 out of 5 stars Could Ludacris be better?.......2002-09-08

The cut verson was a little dissopointing, in tracks such as 'Rollout' and 'Move B***h', there was nothing to listen to. 'Area Codes' is by far the best song on the album - Nate Dogg was at his best on that. I've got the uncut version, and believe me, it's worth getting for just the skits. I stand by my descion for giving it 5 stars: it's GREAT. My advice, get the full one...

5 out of 5 stars THA BEST!!.......2002-08-16

It`s tha hottest cd ever. It`s stinks it dosn`t have all 18 tracks like the dirty version does. I really would have liked to hear all of the skits. Here`s a list of my favorite songs on it.
1. Coming to America: It`s cool
2. Rollout: Good choice 4 a single
3. Go 2 Sleep: O.K.
4. Cry babies :(oh no) Should have taken area codes place.
6. Area Codes :2 much of a ... song
8. Move Bitch: Off tha hook. Should have been the first single. (My favorite of all Ludacris songs)
9. Saturday (Oooh!Oooh!): Tight
12. Get tha !&*$ Back: Very Good
14. Cold outside: Softer but, good
15. Block lockdown /welcome to atlanta : Block Lock down Great/ Welcome to atlanta One of the best

I don't quite know how to put this, but let me try. BEAT CLUB RECORDS is one of the best sounds I have ever heard. This cd is absolutely staggering, spectacular, stunning, brilliant, magnificent, and remarkable. I never thought TIMBALAND was outstanding or anything, but this cd quickly revolutionized my perspective of him. His beats, rhythms, and tunes are out of this universe. With this cd, the hip-hop culture has been carried to a whole new level.

Now for BUBBA. Oh my goodness! Once again, I was taken by complete surprise. This guy is amazing, I mean top-notch! He has got skills and skills and skills, and more skills. The guest artists are excellent as well.

This cd hit me like a BOMBSHELL. There is not one less-than-extraordinary song on this cd. BEAT CLUB RECORDS is taking the hip-hop world by storm. I really didn't know that Tim had this much in him. The music, rapping, and singing is beyond what I have heard so far, way better than most. Tim really went all out. I can't say enough good things about this project. It is a real treasure, EASILY ONE OF THE BEST OF 2001.

Props to all those involved on this cd. It blew me away! And THANK-YOU FOR A CLEAN/EDITED VERSION.

I agree it would be better if Keith was on the majority of the album, but that is why this is Jacky jasper...if you want a CD strictly keith, than buy one of the several out there(2 new cd's released April 06')Keep it UP!!

1 out of 5 stars This Album Sucks Serious Wang.......2005-05-13

originally i bought this cd thinking there was gonna be a lot of kool keith on it (especially since he's on the cover) and i think theres only one song featuring kool keith, in my opinion kool keiths verse is the only reason to put this cd in you deck, dont buy this trash, i seen jacky in concert and he disappointed me there too, i figured him and keith were gonna do that song from the dr doom album but they didnt. jacky jasper is wack, his raps are wack, and the beats are wack, if i could i would give it like 1/5 of a start. i dont know how these other guys are rating it so well, i think i threw this cd out the window on the freeway, but if you're curious burn it, dont waste money on this garbage..go cop some kool keith albums like dr. doom, sex style, matthew, dr octagon, black elvis, spankmaster, etc. oh and if you havent already a must have is "masters of illusion" BUY IT!

5 out of 5 stars Illest Pimp Since Ice-T!.......2002-09-13

How I like this funky spaced out sound Jacky J delivers! This guy is freaking ill with his flow and lyrics. A pimp with a psychotwist, that's the best way too describe him I think. Hear Ice-T introduce him on "It's Jacky Jasper Little B*tch". "Somebody asked me who's that guy smacking his B*tch all over the dancefloor, I said that's my man, Jacky Jasper", than the track begins and you know you're hearing one of the illest hiphoptracks since Kool Keith's "Sexstyle",as Jacky disses fake pimps, ressurects from the dead and drops a lot of other ill stuff . Other gems are "Westside" and "We Showed Up", where he once again teams up with Kool Keith. Even Smoothe Da Hustler's right hand man Trigger Da Gambler makes an appearance on one of the tracks. Open up your mind, buy this album and get blessed with the most original and tight album you've heard in years. Forget these studiopimps like Jay-Z, Jacky Jasper's the man! Check out the album's cover and booklet and be convinced I'm speaking the truth. Next level hiphop at it's best.

4 out of 5 stars Keep My Sh*t Clean is a solid album.......2002-08-13

Recently everyone has been attempting to classify rap into smaller categories. Terminology like "Trip Hop" is thrown around frequently. However, Keep My Sh*t Clean goes beyond any geeky sub-genre. Innitialy, the disc seemed average. After a few days, Jacky J's album, which originally sounded unpleasent, hit me with quality lyrics and sick beats. Jacky Jasper may never attain wide acclaim, but to his credit, Keep My Sh*t Clean is too extreme for today's mainstream. Both Dr. Dooom and Spankmaster feature Jacky Jasper, so I was curious to see how he'd sound on a non-Kool Keith track. Jack Jasper kicks some sick flows, mang... Anyhow, this is a good, unique disc.

Boy oh boy was this an awkward album. This is one of those elemets that there are too many ingreedients in the pot and ended up a mess. That is exactly what this album sounds like to me, a big mess. When I kept hearing about the Dungeon Family (starting on the Witchdoctor LP), I was ready of what they were going to sound like all together. Throughout then, the group has acquired a lot of wack artists in addition to what they already have. In 2001, you have "Even In Darkness".

I see a lot of people giving this 5 stars because of the fact that Outkast and Goodie Mob were involved in the project. If it were them alone with a few others (Killer Mike, Cool Breeze, Witchdoctor) then my score would have been higher. One problem was that this album had no chemestry like the solo albums (listen to this album then listen to something like "Still Standing", and you'll hear the difference). The artists on here just didn't mix. "6 Minutes" and "Trans DF Express" are awesome tracks, but all the artists just seemed out of place when they did their verses. Another problem was that if the artists weren't widely known, they were inexcusably wack. With the exception of Killer Mike and Slimm Calhoun, " Curtains (DF 2nd Generation)" is one of those songs that I'm talking about. Even some of the known artists dropped a wack verse every so often, like Cool Breeze on "Forever Pimpin" and Witchdoctor on "What Is Rap"(and these are my two FAVORITE artists from the DF Crew. It hurts me so much to knock them. And lets not forget everyone who joined in on "Crooked Booty".). Also most of the concepts on the songs failed to keep a listeners attention, like the song "On and On and On".

Now I'm done knocking this album, because there is some good about this album. As I mentioned before, some of the highlights of this album are "Trans DF Express" and "6 Minutes (Dungeon Family It's On)". The G-Funk type song "Follow The Light" is another dope song that sounds experimental, but allows the listener to grove with it. The only outside guest appearance is Bubba Sparxxx on the song "White Guts", and he drops a dope verse.

This isn't a bad album, but it is not as good as these revewers say here. There are many hits on here, but there are many missses here as well. Trufully, I'm at least glad to see that this album made it to see the light of day for my curiousity, especially from a group who helped put my hometown on the map. I won't lie, talent trufully exists here amongst most members of DF, but the concept behind this album doesn't though. Buy this album if you are only curious of what these members sound as a group. Otherwise I recommend that you just stick with the solo albums and leave this on the shelf.

Favorite Tracks: Follow The Light, Trans DF Express, 6 Minutes (Dungeon Family It's On), White Guts

Honorable Mention: Curtains (DF 2nd Generation )

          Peace Everyone!!
