Music for the SOUL.......2004-01-18

Ann Peebles is my favorite female soul singer. I'm in love with her voice!
I reccomend downloading her song "Bouncin' Back" from the free mp3 download section here at Amazon. If you love that song and that voice you'll love this box set!

The set is quite complete. Although it doesn't have all of her old recordings on it. Finding them all can be a hassle since some are out of print or hard to find. I choose the buy this set and these 3 discs have been my favorite CD's for 6 months now.

Have been searching for other female soul singers with that Memphis or Southern sound and haven't found any that match her yet. Only singers like Otis Redding, Solomon Burke and the likes can match or outperform her when it comes to great Southern Soul music.

I must add that the recordings are old and sometimes have some flaws. (In two or three songs when listening carefully.) The soundquality isn't bad at all but it would be nice if these songs were remastered. But that would be nice with all older recordings of course.

Once again, If you like "Bouncin' Back" you'll love this 3CD set.
And if it's too pricy, just start with another compilation. You won't regret it!
