Dirty Little Secrets
Editorial Reviews
About the Artist
"A unique musical voice has risen from the depths of Washington, DC in the form of Papashake. This funky four-piece takes the best parts of Living Colour, G. Love & Special Sauce, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Fishbone and mixes it all together to create their bass-heavy sound.
these musicians create an infectious blend of heavy funk rock that can induce a smooth groove or can incite an audience to tear it up on the dance floor."

Worthy.......2007-03-13
This is worthy of inclusion if you collect this band. I own it and don't regret it's purchase. One of the most intersting units in the last 20 years regrettfully neglected by most critics, and AMERICAN. When I heard they were dropped by Interscope after perhaps their most unique offerring(H&R Holiday) I was shocked but not surprised, I guess the label was making room for U2's salary. Shameful. Once you get past their 'persona' you come upon an innovative American band (say that again three times). The close minded may be put off by their lyrics or subject matter but they aren't the kind of people who appreciate real rock and roll, are they? The mesh between R&R and dance was never so celebrated or so much fun. This band will turn it around and eventually rule again,
Like the jazzy, groovy, dance Kult.......2002-07-21
I love the more danceable, jazzy, groovy beats of the Kult rather than their satanic stuff. This is a great one in that vein!
Bad remixes of thier dullest material.......2002-01-03
Typical retro glam tripe that made me stop listening to them after "13 Above The Night." They've lost their way and explains why they've lost band members. Go listen to "Electric Hellfire Club" if you miss the good old days of "Cuz It's Hot" and "Kooler Than Jesus." This sissy junk has nothing to do with why they started in the first place.
For a remix album: Great.......2000-07-10
As far as remix albums go, this one is excellent. Their are some very good remixes and a couple of new tracks. TKK has been evolving for a long time. While I prefer their earlier sound, the present sound is quite good too. Combine glam, sex, drugs, and a bit of evil darkness and you have TKK.
Where's the Thrill Kill we all know and love?.......1999-12-27
Haven't heard anything worth buying from Thrill Kill since Hit & Run Holiday. None of the remixes or unreleased tracks are especially stunning. They even omitted the cool vocals remixes of songs like Dimentia 66. As the subtitle suggests, however, this album would make a decent soundtrack for a strip club. Otherwise, it offers nothing new.

Product Description
Ten years ago Jimmy The Pervert released My Dirty Little Secret and a twisted, underground STAR was born. His timing was PERFECT! "Lambchops For Life," a song about his love affair with a blue-eyed lamb, hit the airwaves at the exact same time the famous sheep clone Dolly became the media's little darling. Morning radio shows from Chicago to Dallas, from Memphis to Nashville, couldn't get enough of Jimmy's catchy melodies and perverted rhymes. Jerry Springer ain't seen nothin' yet. With the recent bump in downloads, Jimmy was coaxed back into the Memphis studio where it all began to deliver another batch of hillarious songs. Is it Jeff Foxworthy meets the ghost of Elvis? With songs like "Head To The Dead, "Dildo," and "Father McGillicutty," Jimmy is likely to offend just enough people to have another hit. He's what your mother always warned you about...

Customer Reviews:
Papashake Rocks!!!.......2006-02-18
These guys are awesome!! Their music adeptly synthesizes cutting edge bass, punchy guitar chops, and soulful singing into a powerful, symbiotic blend of rock and funk that will leave an indelible mark on your musical pysche. I haven't heard such kick a** bass since Billy Sheehan cut lose with Steve Vai back in the day.
Not since Living Color broke onto the scene in the late 1980s has there been anything so original and deserving of national attention. Heck, I'm grooving to these guys from Tel Aviv, Israel. Rock on Papashake! Hopefully a big record label is smart enough to see that you guys should be under the bright lights.
WOW!.......2005-09-23
This album is a gem. I picked it up randomly, and it rocks! Great tunes, a cool, (funk/rock/blues) beat, and a 'shake your ass' kinda rhythm.
Mr. Ali goes from a gritty rock, to a funky blues jam. I agree with the "Chili Peppers" comparison, for lack of another group that could describe them.
They'll put the east coast on the map.
Dirty Little Band.......2005-08-21
Papashake rules! I got the new cd from the bass player at a show at Clemson. These guys are crazy - they fed me jager all evening (I think the bar ran out). Perfect rockstars (except Sly, the drummer who liked sleep more than partying)! The CD is awesome - me and my roommate at school crank it up all the time in our appartment. Keep it up boys.
Papashake rocks!.......2005-08-21
I love seeing live music, and these guys really have it going on live. They sound great on disc as well; I bought one of their other CDs and loved it...I have heard a couple of cuts from the new record (Dirty Little Secrets) and thought the band has matured and carved their niche in the funk/groove style since the 2003 "Horse in the Pool" release that I have. I love the song "Groove Thang". I can't wait to hear the rest of the tracks!
Next Big Thing.......2005-08-03
I saw these guys in New York City and they blew me away! The album is a great compliment to their live show. Great blend of rock, funk and soul. I think these guys may be on to something big with this one!
