Product Description
After two Platinum-selling albums (Casting Crowns & Lifesong), one Platinum and one Gold live project (Live from Atlanta & Lifesong Live), numerous awards, and one of the most successful headlining tours in our industry, one might expect a different Casting Crowns. Those who meet this exceptional group, however, quickly realize they are still the same down-to-earth people with ministry at the heart of what they do both on the road, and in their local churches where each of the members serve on-staff or as laypeople, including lead singer/songwriter Mark Hall who still holds his post as youth pastor at his home church.
Casting Crowns third album, The Altar and The Door, draws on this first-hand ministry experience with real people, real life struggle and the faith that overcomes. At the altar, everything makes sense, says Hall. When we re in the church and spending time with God, we know what we re supposed to do and how to live. Everything is black and white. But somewhere between the altar and the door, when we leave and go out into our lives, it all leaks out. Everything gets gray again. It s like we have these two lives, and the Christian life is the journey between the altar and door....trying to get the things you ve got in your head, into your hands, into your feet, and into your life. This album is all about that journey of realization, the struggles we encounter and the victory of seeing it as possible.
The band is excited about the next ministry chapter to unfold, and is already planning Fall and Spring legs of The Altar and The Door Tour. With the debut radio single hitting in June and widespread media coverage starting late summer through the fall, this album is set to be another phenomenal release setting records and, more importantly, impacting hearts.

Much like their brethren Mercy Me, Casting Crowns was thrust into the limelight from a worship band beginning. With steady chops honed from hundreds of shows/services a year and a simple, straight-ahead rock style, the Florida-based band found themselves on top of the charts thanks to the success of massive singles "Who Am I?" and "The Voice of Truth" from its self-titled debut (2003). Lifesong is a sensible sophomore follow-up that shows the band expanding its musical creativity while lyrically remaining true to the cause. There's a common thread of humility throughout as front man Mark Hall sings of the disenfranchised ("Does Anybody Hear Her"), the heartbroken ("Praise You in This Storm"), and the remorseful ("Prodigal"). Hall even calls outside for songwriting help from the brilliant Nichole Nordeman in "Stained Glass Masquerade," a cautionary warning about church hypocrisy in the face of keeping it real. The radio-friendly, U2- ish "Lifesong" proves a savvy book-end to the penitent closer "And Now My Lifesong Sings." Both evoke strong messages that worship is all about how one lives a life and not what kind of songs they may sing. Lifesong is an impressive effort for a band that knows its strengths and how to play to them. --Michael Lyttle
Customer Reviews:
Casting Crowns: I Thank You and God for this Album. It has Saved My Life........2007-07-24
Thank You God, for providing Casting Crowns with the inspiration to create an album that I believe helped save my life, both physically and spiritually. I am a recovering abuser of alcohol, and every day of my life is a struggle. What gets me through is my Lord, my family, my church, and my music. This album contains the songs that I need to get through when the enemy comes to temp me with his demons in the disguise of a bottle. The entire album is remarkable, but the song that I turn to when I need help through the rough times is "Praise You in this Storm". In a way, it makes me think about how God allowed the enemy to hurt Job and make his life miserable, but He was always there with Job to guide him and give him reassurance in the end. This applies to my life when I don't think I can make it through, but I think of Him, and know that He is with me at all times. Thank you Lord, Thank you Casting Crowns.
Worth getting for its three hit songs.......2007-06-30
The first three songs are wonderful, especially "Praise You in This Storm" with its awesome message that God is worthy of worship REGARDLESS. He is worthy because of who He is; storms don't change that any more than good times could increase that. He is GOD.
Some of the other songs weren't at that top level. But it's worth buying for those songs.
Their Best Work So Far.......2007-05-16
Lifesong is good from beginning to end. Great music and meaningful words. If you like Third Day and other Casting Crown work, you will not be disappointed.
MUST OWN ALBUM, WONDERFUL!!!.......2007-04-11
This is SUCH an amazing piece of work. It really is such a great product.
The songs make you think and have an underlying meaning. Like in "Stained Glass Masquerade" can apply to real life itself. "Praise You is this Storm" is my all time favorite. Its is inspirational and true to the core we must praise Christ even in the storm. "Prodigal" reminds me of each time I mess up big time and come back to God for forgiveness and Guidance. "Set Me Free" is powerful and "While you Were Sleeping" has a good underlying meaning to me of the blindess to Christ and Sleeping religously that I used to be in before I got saved. Really a wonderful album and I'm looking forward to the next one!
ahhh casting crowns.......2007-04-07
I got lifesong after I heard a friend recommend the band to me. I liked it at first, but now that I have heard their first cd I like it even more. Their songs can be depressing, but it's so true like in the song "can anybody hear her?" it's true christians shouldn't ignore a cry for help when they hear it.

Casting a Yea! vote for Casting Crowns.......2007-06-11
This is one of the few CD's listened to that I can claim every song is awesome! If you like rockin' Alternative style and Contemporary Christian music, you will not be disappointed by this purchase!
Amazing Christian Music.......2007-05-16
This is the first album of Christian music I have ever owned that has achieved that awesome balance between spirituality and talent. So many Christian bands fall too far on one side of the scale, but Casting Crowns has hit it right on the mark! A great CD.
The first five tracks are challenging and thought-provoking original songs. The remaining four are wonderful covers of some well-known praises.
best music.......2007-05-15
This has got to be one of my favorites! I never get tired of hearing it. You won't go wrong with this one, worth every penny.
wow!!.......2007-04-07
When I heard this I sang practically every song. All the songs are beautifully written. "Voice of Truth," is so beautiful it gives me goosebumps. every song is easy to relate to like "If We Are The Body," it's a good song and speaks the truth, that as Christians we should act in a certain way. We should help those that ask for help.
"Simply amazing..." "Two thumbs way up!..." by BJ.......2007-04-06
As I sit here and try to write this review, I can't think of the right words to say--this CD is just so good that I'm not surprised at all that it was RIAA-certified multi-platinum. With outstanding lyrics, Casting Crowns' mega-hit debut easily deserves 5 stars.
This group really does deserve all the hype and awards that it's getting--after all, they are the first Christian artist in HISTORY to have that artist's first three albums to be RIAA-certified gold or platinum. (I'm including the LIVE Concert release, which also was certified gold).
This truly amazing album includes the hits "What If His People Prayed", a song with a tremendous message, "If We Are The Body", a song to the church, "Who Am I", "Voice Of Truth", and "American Dream". This album's fabulous lyrics and producing reflect the songwriting talents of lead-singer Mark Hall and the producing talents of Steven Curtis Chapman. Definitely a perfect gift for someone who enjoys Christian music, because these guys obviously know what they're doing. The best debut I've heard in a while, and the best overall album since Dove Award winning, GRAMMY-winning hit-maker group Avalon's 2001 gold release, "Oxygen" (which is also HIGHLY recommended!!)
Other songs include: "Here We Go Again", "Your Love Is Extravagant", and more.
Overall, excellent job in every aspect--you will definitely be pleased if you purchase this album!!!:)

Great CD!!!.......2007-07-22
I've never heard of Brandon Heath before, but I LOVE every song on this CD!
Very Talented.......2007-07-05
My favorites from this album are #1 Steady Now, #4 Our God Reigns, #7 I'm Not Who I Was. God has really blessed this man.
Great songs!.......2007-06-04
For a beginnier he has the ability weave God and love into all the stories. My favorite is "I'm not who I was" and "Make it last." The CD has the markings of both Dave Barnes and Dave Matthews. A enjoyable CD to listen to on a road trip.
Enjoyable.......2007-05-27
I purchased "Don't Get Comfortable" also after hearing "I'm Not Who I Was" on the radio. I don't regret purchasing the cd.
A Battle Not to Fight.......2007-05-13
Brandon Heath's "Don't Get Comfortable" is a bubbly mix of positive music. Many tracks are overtly Christian. The opener "Steady Now" is one of the best tracks with catchy hooks and Brandon's boy-band friendly vocals, "We don't have to wait until the end of the night just to say that something's wrong & maybe nobody's right; We're all victims in a battle we never had to fight." The other shining star is the title track with its driving beat and Brandon's convincing vocals, "You don't have to be afraid even if you make mistakes; You know that I'll remain." Other tracks like the closer "I Will Lay You Down" & "You Decide" are also good. Most of this CD is excellent, well worth seeking out. Enjoy!

Wonderful music that brings peace to the mind. The artists on this cd do a great job and bring a blend that is worth listening to!
Worship-filled.......2007-06-09
The CD was all I had hoped for. The music styles are varied and interesting, the harmonies are beautiful, and the scripture choices for lyrics are easily committed to memory. I intend to make it a gift for many people.
Wonderful worship CD.......2007-05-29
My only complaint is that it's too short! I could listen to songs like this for hours, and so I end up playing the CD over and over. Good thing it's such a great one that I'm not tired of it yet.
Glory Revealed.......2007-05-15
Wonderful music set to the Word of God. Uplifting and thought provoking. Perfect for bringing one closer in their relationship with God.
Scriptual songs.......2007-05-12
The songs are oldies but with a new twist sung by current Christian artists. It has a bluegrass/folk style.

Album Description
Motown Records reteams with Lions' Gate and groundbreaking director/actor/playwright Tyler Perry to release the soundtrack for his new movie, Madea's Family Reunion. Tyler Perry executive-produced the soundtrack, assuring that every song on the disc appears in the movie. The soundtrack features a sultry new single from Brian McKnight, "Find Myself in You," as well as 9 other new songs from talented artists such as LL Cool J featuring Mary Mary ("We're Gonna Make It"), Chaka Khan ("Keep Your Head Up"), Johnny Gill ("You for Me--The Wedding Song"), KEM ("Tonight"), and a rousing all-star ensemble comprised of Chaka Khan, Gerald Levert, Yolanda Adams, and Carl Thomas on "Everyday (Family Reunion)." Perry also tapped into soul classic favorites like Al Green's "Love and Happiness" and the O'Jays' "Family Reunion" to round out the soundtrack.
The movie revolves around the 68-year old southern matriarch Mabel Simmons ("Madea") (played by Perry). Madea's Family Reunion finds her using every tactic in her arsenal to keep the peace and hold her family together for a reunion. The all-star cast includes Blair Underwood, Lynn Whitfield, Boris Kodjoe, Henry Simmons, Maya Angelou, Rochelle Ayers, Jenifer Lewis, Cicely Tyson and many other familiar faces.
Last year, Perry took the entertainment industry by storm with the release of his #1 box-office hit Diary of a Mad Black Woman, which garnered over $22 million in its opening weekend.
Customer Reviews:
Love it.......2006-12-10
The movie was awesome!! After hearing all the great music in the movie I had to have the soundtrack. Brian McKnight's Find Myself In You, just melts my heart as well as KEM's Tonight...Each song finds a way of making me feel good and dancin :)
Great Movie.......2006-11-10
I loved the movie but was not so impressed with the soundtrak. I did like most of the songs however.
I Got What I Expected!.......2006-11-07
As usual, Tyler Perry has produced another gut-laughing, thought provoking movie. "Madea" doesn't disappoint us. We came to laugh...we did. We came to be showed something negative that we need to change.. and we were shown. SO, as usual.. I got what I expected.
I guess Tyler Perry makes good soundtracks, too.......2006-10-14
Various Artists - Tyler Perry's Madea's Family Reunion: Music from the Motion Picture (Motown, 2006)
Okay, so he probably didn't "make" this soundtrack but you know what I mean (he did, however, write some of the songs). Last year it was the soundtrack to his "Diary of a Mad Black Woman" movie and now it's for "Madea's Family Reunion".
Things start off great with the song that you've all heard before, the Marvin Gaye-channeling "Find Myself in You" by Brian McKnight. Kem also blesses us with "Tonight", a duet with Marissa Rose, who's never really gotten her due in the music industry. And just like with the previous soundtrack how the compilers brought back M.I.A. artist Cheryl Pepsii Riley, this time Johnny Gill and Rachelle Ferrell come back with winners "You For Me" and "Wounds in the Way", respectively.
Old songs like Al Green's "Love and Happiness" and The O'Jays' "Family Reunion" are already classics and only enhance the soundtrack. Even the lone rap song, LL Cool J and Mary Mary's "We're Gonna Make It", fits in well (I appreciate this song more on here than on LL's Todd Smith album). I agree that this probably isn't the best album ever but none of the songs are bad and you can play it over and over again. And sometimes, that's all you need instead of searching for "the classic CD". -EJR

An impressive thread of praise and worship runs through the career of Michael W. Smith. After all, he's penned two of today's finest modern praise songs ("Great Is the Lord" and "Agnus Dei"), and he was the creative genius behind Exodus, a brilliant collection of worship material. Yet that same artistic spirit seems sadly lacking on Worship, Smith's first solely praise and worship release. All parts are assembled, with Smith on vocals and keyboards, and an all-star choir of Amy Grant, Phillips, Craig & Dean, Chris Rice, Cindy Morgan, and others backing him on this live release. But outside of a few selected tracks ("Let It Rain" and "Draw Me Close"), Worship falls flat. Smith's decision to cover the day's most popular praise songs and not focus on new material of his own weakens the record's impact. In fact, "Purified," one of two studio tracks on the release, was cowritten by Smith and his wife, and it's the CD's brightest moment. While Worship is not a forgettable release, it is, unfortunately, predictable. --Michael Lyttle

A spirit lifting surprise.......2007-02-10
I must admit to being skeptical about the majority of Christian music. I often find myself disheartened by the blandness, and even though I want to be uplifted, the experience is sanitised to the point of having no impact at all.
This CD however, is a strong exception. I bought it on a whim, and became hooked; The type of song is picked from favourite contemporary worship songs, a few cover versions of other Christian artists, and some new material. There are no surprises in the choices.
The surprise comes from the heart and passion that has been put into this album, both by Michael Smith and his musicians, to the audience themselves, whose response you can both hear and feel.
The musicians let themselves go, giving the sound the big feel of a pop concert, while never diminishing the reverence of the subject matter.
Be lifted - I was. I want to buy everyone I know a copy!

Smitty Lays an Egg.......2007-07-17
Big MWS fan here since 1990. This is the one blemish on a career I'd call nothing but remarkable and well deserved. There is just nothing here that is accessible and moves the listener. I have tried but do not share the sentiments of others regarding this release. Reviews seem largely mixed here. Starts bland and stays there the whole way through. Michael is a great talent that I have enjoyed immensely through the years but STAND mainly "SITS" idly in my cd cabinet. I'll revisit it every once in a while but it just simply fails to make it all the way through. Come on Smitty, we need a comeback on the next effort.

After one listen to the original, it will quickly become evident that Smith should not have gone anywhere near this song, no matter how hard he wishes to appear as relevant.
Fantastic and Awesome.......2007-04-09

Customer Reviews:
One of the best albums I own.......2006-07-04
This is a great album and is one of the best I own. Compared to the endless supply of Clancy Brothers Greatest Hits albums, this is outstanding. The music is great, the singing is wonderful, and the energy is great. I can only imagine what it was like to be at the live performance in 1984. My only complaint is that I bought it a few days before the price was cut.
Great Performance!.......2001-03-08
I had the privilege of attending this great event back in 1984, at Avery Fisher Hall, in Lincoln Center NY...it was an electrifying performance and it has been well recorded in this album! The Clancy Brothers were never the same without Tommy Makem, and quite frankly, Mr. Makem was never the same without the Clancys.
Theirs was a partnership made in Irish heaven and their reunion, 15 years after they split up, was a concert to be remembered to be sure...their best albums were always live performances. Their studio albums never were on the same par as the live ones...
If you never had the chance to see them perform, this CD will serve as the next best thing!
I strongly recommend this CD!!
A reunion well worth waiting for..........2001-02-26
After 16 years apart, the group that first brought Irish folk music to North America reunited in 1984 for a tour that reminded everybody why they were so great. All the energy of 20 years before was present...in fact, it sounds like Liam, Pat and Tom Clancy, plus Tommy Makem, were performing like they'd never get a chance to sing again. The song selection is fabulous, Tom Clancy sounds *great* on Red-Haired Mary and Haul-Away Joe (if, as some reviewers have written, he was dying of cancer at this stage, he sure hid it well) and the musicianship is superb. Before there was a Chieftains, before there was a Wolfe Tones, even before there was a Dubliners...there was the Clancys and Makem. This may just be the single finest Irish folk album ever made.
Reunion Concert renews Clancy's stunning aray of hits!.......1999-07-23
The Clancy Brother's last recording with all original members are great. From the rowdy singing of "Red Haired Mary" to Liam's classic version of "Carrickfergus" this is a great album for all to enjoy.
Finest Live Recording in Folk History.......1999-07-01
Perhaps the most important folk band in history, The Clancy's and Makem reformed after a break of sixteen years with a spectacular performance never equalled by any live band. By this stage - with almost 60 albums behind them - Tom Clancy was dying of cancer and plays a sad, quiet role in proceedings. But brothers Paddy and Liam are at their brilliant best, as is Makem. Never will you hear such vibrant, energetic talent. The death of Tom in 1990 and Paddy in 1998 brought to an end the reign of the greatest folk band in history. Listen to their rousing rendition of "The Holy Ground" and dare tell me I'm wrong. Guthrie may have been the inspiration, but without the Clancy Brothers there would have been no Dylan. Superb.
