If you are an Elton Britt fan then this is a must for your collection. If you are thinking about becoming a fan of him then you should get this CD it will make you a fan. It features his beautiful voice in the yodelling field along with how great he does blues and classic country and resatational works.

A good cd with many earlier recordings, as expected! Elton was a cracking good Yodeller in his hey day, there are some suprising yodelling tracks on this cd. I gained some new yodels to my collection although one may not realise that the songs are yodelling songs by the song titles. I was surprised & pleased to find new ones, well done even though this cd is not all yodelling, awaiting volume 2 - maybe there will be more yodelling tracks than on vol.(1)

Gene Pistilli has been around for a very long time because he has what it takes to survive in the music industry. He simply is a talented musician, performer and composer. Add a great voice and the ability to play various styles of music, and you have Gene Pistilli. Pistilli has written music for Spanky and Our Gang (Sunday Will Never Be the Same), Bette Midler, and country singer Randy Travis. He was an founding member of Manhattan Transfer, and he has worked with many other well-known performers, such as Jim Croce. With "I Still Get Dressed on Sundays", Pistili shows what a great performer he is with his exceptional voice and songwriting. If you like country and country swing, just buy this album. It's great.

An amiable set of western swing oldies and fine new originals, written by one of the founding members of the retro-jazz vocals ensemble, Manhattan Transfer. (No -- I'm not kidding!) Pistilli, who's nicknamed himself "The Hoboken Saddletramp," has a real feel for the music, which isn't too surprising -- he's moving from one style of retro swing to another -- and has written several swell new tunes (the title track in particular). There's a certain reserve to this album that makes it less than overpowering, but it's still pretty nice -- fans of The Hot Club Of Cowtown will wanna check this out as well.
