Great Radio Alternative.......2002-09-27
Excellent compilation. For those who like an alternative to the mostly mediocre radio rotation in most cities (including NYC), you will enjoy this sublime mix of quality music. My favorites tracks #1, #3, #5, and #13.
Review.......2001-09-02
This is a nice album to listen to. Too bad they don't get any air play over the radio here in Virginia. The only way that I was able to hear this soulfull album was on the internet.
What's so "AMAZING" about this album..........2001-07-24
Although I have listened to many of the Atlanta based artists that appear on this compilation over the years, I thought that I would grow tired of listening to the same songs by the same artists--again. This has been far from the truth! I've realized that I have been missing out on some LIVE shows over the last year or two.
This is a GREAT kaleidoscope of music that includes a mixture of rock, jungle, hip-hop, and UK soul tracks from artists not only from Atlanta but of the world who still believe in creating music with meaningful lyrics and smooth instrumentals.
I am excited about hearing my hometown artists in concert again. (Hey, Jeffery B! Let me know when you'll be performing. I love your song!) However, I'm even more excited that I've been introduced to other artists too. Overall this is a GOOD mix of music. I don't know if one will be able to find CHOCOLATE SOUL in his/her local music store but it's well worth ordering wherever you are. Cause don't you love it when you're one of the few people in town who's got a certain CD?
Get it before everyone else does....8-)
Chocolate for the Soul.......2000-04-10
I bought the CD the day of it's release and I think it is one of best compilation out today. A mixture of acid jazz, funk, hip-hop, and soul. Julie Dexter from the UK out shines (in my opinion) everyone on this CD, but I am not putting any of the other artist down. Her song "burning" is one of her best tracks and will most likely never get radio airplay. The other tracks like "Heaven" by Satoshie Tomiie from Japan is a BLAZING track and shows off the great production skills that Chocolate Soul Entertainment have. Other tracks that stand out are "Forbidden Taboo" by The Committee, "So Love" by Kindred, "Ever After" by Seek and others. I always admire CSE work in the past and glad to see them come out with this compilation. Go get this one it's a great CD.

Chocolate for the Soul.......2000-04-03
This is a bangin compilation of artist and groups from around the world. The Chocolate Soul Entertainment Group is based out of Atlanta and is known for it's concerts and shows. Now they have come together with some of there best work on one soul/jazz/urban CD. Julie Dexter from the UK is one of my favorite artist on this CD along with Seek and DJ Kemit from the ATL have layed down some great tracks for this one. This CD has a touch of acid, jazz, dirty south urban soul and hip-hop all from unknown artist all around and is a great buy for anyones collection.

Another helping of "Da Gumbo" please!.......2004-04-09
It's not often that you find a collection of original music of practically every urban genre on one album. As a consumer I would like to see more music packaged this way. I get a greater selection and choice of music. I am pleased with my purchase and look forward to being served "Da Gumbo" again!
