Withers' Expressive Voice was a Welcome Antidote to the Sugary Pop of the Day. As a Veteran, his Performances and Natural Singing Style Brought an Earthiness to the Pop World that Fit in Well Alongside Singers with Decidedly Folk and R&B Roots. Other Standout Tracks Include "Lovely Day" and "Grandma's Hands", Covered by Many Singers Since Its Original Release. Later in his Career, Withers Reappeared in the 80's with a Grammy Winning Vocal on the Grover Washington Track "Just the Two of Us", Only Adding to his Great Canon of Work.
