Boring Garbage.......2007-05-09
Bought this CD because of all the good reviews it had on Amazon.
After listening to this album, I don't know what the others are talking about. The songs have no melody, it is just a bunch of noises throw together. Vangelis has a few good songs (none on this album), but what's the point if you have to sit through 15 bad songs for 1 half decent song. Don't buy this unless you are a diehard Vangelis fan.
IMHO.
Solid Compilation.......2005-11-05
Yes Pesntch, I am listening to Vangelis a lot lately. It's all about atmosphere , melody and a symphonic approach- all of which I feel the original member brought to the Hoax. Vangelis is inspiring some great future riffs. So live with it sntch.
All good stuff, but not much new for long time fans.......2002-05-03
This is an excellent Vangelis compilation album primarily for those who don't already have all four of his albums Oceanic, Voices, 1492, and El Greco. If you have all four already, don't bother picking up this one, because the two previously unreleased tracks on this aren't that big a deal. Aside from these plus one track from The City, you've got everything on here.
Some great Vangelis, but inconsistent overall.......2001-02-28
Having listened to this CD, I must admit that, while there are points therein where the music simply defies description (it's that good), the appeal of the selections found here is inconsistent overall. Oceanic was a revelation to be sure, and I can't wait to purchase the CD soundtrack to 1492. Some of the other tracks, however, didn't give me the same level of satisfaction I've come to expect from Vangelis. A good CD, but not great.
Capturing.......2001-01-01
This CD has you listening right from the first sound, until the last note of the last track. It is beautiful and the tracks from the different movies and pieces blend together and flow beautifully. I have 1492 in my collection, and although a few of the pieces are also on this compilation it does not detract from the overall enjoyment.

Everybody needs to know Vangelis.......2007-01-14
He is a classic by now... you need to have at least one CD in your collection. Many lovable films used his compositions, from Jonathan to Bitter Moon and others. Beautiful melodies, they will stay with you long after you enjoyed a listening!
