About the Artist
Tarrence Motley is no ordinary Gospel singer. This young man is on a mission. His goals consist of blessing the ‘mic' and delivering sermons people across the globe will pay heed to-all in a unique and special way. As hip-hop and R&B have been setting a great presence and mark within the past 3 plus decades, its influence has spawn across many genres, including Rock, Pop and alternative music-in addition to Gospel music. You caught a glimpse of it when Kirk Franklin inserted soul grooves and hip-hop beats into his once traditional Gospel tracks. Now bare witness as a Gospel crooner takes this ever-growing genre to the next level; Tarrence Motley gears and releases his phenomenal self-titled debut album.

Background: Originally from Harlem, Tarrence Motley grew up in the hard streets of Virginia, eventually residing in North Carolina when his mother decided to relocate there. After spending time with his mother things began to get extremely rough. "Living with my mother was, honestly, one of the most difficult times I've had in my life," reflects Tarrence. "I saw my mother go through drug addiction. I was young and very impressionable, but through the grace of God I made out ok." As a result, his teenage years were filled with emotional upheaval. His mother moved to New York City and didn't even tell him. That's when trouble started to find him. Until one day he was at a club and "a kid put a knife to my back. I got jumped that night, and that's when I finally said to myself, 'I'm through with this,' recalls Tarrence. He then left to go live with his grandmother. Then once he decided to take a final departure from North Carolina, Tarrence moved to Poughkeepsie, NY where he found refuge in the arms of his uncle, the late Prophet Travis J. Motley. "My uncle had a church in Newburg and he was the main person who kept me out of trouble," days Tarrence. "This was the place where I started a new life."

Under the guidance and wings of renown producer Kevin Dean (Atlantic Star, Mary J. Blige's "Deep Inside, and others) he learned the ins and outs of the business. His vocal inspiration comes from Kurby Brown and Rodney Jerkins (Dark Child), and now Tarrence is more than ready to unleash his talents onto the world. The heart-pounding track, "No One Else," is a smooth soulful song that deals with relationships. "This song talks about how friends and family can let you down. The only person that was there for me when I needed guidance was God. I learned how to depend on him." Filled with guitar riffs and sultry vocals, "No One Else" is the perfect example of why Tarrence Motley is headed for the big times.

Equipped with hair-raising vocals and heart wrenching beats the album's premiere single, "Hold On" is a Crossover song that'll have everyone on their toes. Remembering the events of September 11th, Tarrence takes the listener on a spiritual ride. "It's a dedication to America and their families," states Tarrence. Produced and written by Tarrence Motley himself (a.k.a. TM STYLES) the self-titled debut album will set trends-in Gospel and in all other genres. It's a new beginning for Gospel, and music in general, and it all begins with TM STYLES.

With his current goal in the midst of coming into fruition-he plans on having his own label and distribution company-and a new found relationship with his mother, "my relationship with her is growing everyday. She's 100% supportive of what I'm doing"-Tarrence has no where to look but up! Looking into the future, Tarrence says with promise, "Next year, I want the world to know who I am. I want everyone to be touched through my music, and be encouraged.
