Other people may share the difficulty of falling asleep in a different bed when one is visiting friends, traveling, etc. Some friends let me use this CD when I was having trouble sleeping at their place. It does work best with headphones because I have experienced a tingling, the only way to describe that the music was really designed to affect the brainwaves. This really does make you calm and relaxed. You will also never get bored of the tune. I love the idea that there is only two tracks to prevent interruption. Sweet dreams!

My problem with naps (which I think everyone could do with more of) is that I wake up feeling like I've been hit by a car. Taking an hour to use this CD, even if I fall asleep in the middle, does not produce that effect. I highly recommend this if you are dealing with any health conditions exacerbated by stress and/or lack of sleep.

If you are new to sound healing, this CD is worth a try. One CD provides the background and the other the 'healing' pieces.

With pillows surrounding my body and my headphones on, I relaxed as my body drifted into an incredibly deep sleep. Never have I woken and felt quite so healed or refreshed. It was as if my spirit was vibrating at a new level within my body. It is hard to explain unless you have experienced this place of peace. I am an avid promoter of massage and natural healing. This to me is similar to a massage - but is a massage for the soul. As a child my mother often played classical music for me and swears by its calming effect. At college I often attended many concerts and always enjoyed the classical music the most. I recommend the CD version since Dr. Weil speaks for a few minutes and you may not want to listen to this each time. It is easier to forward to the music. Sometimes I do listen to his voice since it is so calming and you cannot learn everything just listening once. I highly recommend this CD if you need physical or emotional healing. He is onto something and I know you will benefit from this relaxing retreat.

It has been very difficult for me, for many years, to find good albums for using during a bodywork session. Nine out of every ten that I try are peaceful and undemanding, for all but one or two places on the recording. The one or two places make that
album fail the test. I can't have the client relaxing into parasympathetic mode, and then an abrupt change in the pace or volume of the music demands their attention. That nullifies the previous fifteen minutes of work.
Llewellyn's music on this recording is beautiful, when you put your attention on it, but provides a pleasant background sound if you choose to not consciously attend to it. This work rivals the recordings of Liquid Mind, in its suitablity for a tranquil massage therapy session.

I think this is the most relaxing CD in the universe! I purchased this CD about 3 months ago and I listen to it virtually every single day. I use it to either put me into a state of deep relaxation or to put me to sleep at night (or both). I play it when I'm stuck in rush hour traffic and it helps me to remain calm and mellow. I also play it on my way to see the massage therapist in order to prepare my mind and spirit to fully receive a relaxing massage. I highly recommend it!

Start the New Year with a total body relaxation meditation. I listened to the CD and found it to be exactly what I was looking for. I was coached by Dr. Minnick into a deep and restful place. Her voice is calm and direct. I even fell asleep at the end of the meditation! I plan on having this CD be a part of my daily routine for 2007. I Owe It To Myself. Any you do too!!

This CD lives up to the reviews I read before purchasing it. Often when I purchase music for massage there ends up being one song on the CD which is not appropriate for relaxation. This CD is consistant throughout. The calming sounds vary slightly, approximately every 5 minutes. With twelve 5 minute songs/sounds, it is easy to move about the body without looking at a clock. I highly recommend this CD for massage or Reiki, or anytime you want to set a relaxing mood. It also advertises a bonus booklet on Reiki. Don't get too excited about that...I tossed it.

I was on a mission to find a good, all-around relaxation CD and I listened to tons of sound clips online and I finally found this one. I just received it and it is exactly what I was looking for! It has just a few nature sounds mixed in, which is what I wanted, but not so many that it becomes annoying. I wanted to have this to play while I work and also around the house and it's perfect.

This is the best CD I own for calming and total relaxation. You can put it on anytime and it will not make you tired. The mood it creates is quite pleasant. This is a must own. Two thumbs up and five stars!

This CD has worked well for me in many ways. I was looking for a way to relax at the end of the day and the guided meditations and music provided a welcome relief. Especially nice is the progressive relaxation process: "Total Body Relaxation" which always results in my falling into a deep sleep.

The Mini Relaxation Break is good during the day for a quick refreshing pause to activity.

I highly recommend this CD, it lives up to the description.

This CD has helped me to relax. All the cuts are good, but the total relaxation track is amazing! If I use it at night it puts me into a deep sleep, or in the afternoon it lets me unwind so I can enjoy the evening activities. The background music enhances the effect of the pleasant voice and it all adds up to a nice experience.

I was looking for a CD that would help me to sleep. After using this several times at night before bed, I can say I seem to be sleeping better most nights. Maybe this is just a coincidence since I often go through cycles but it does feel very relaxing to listen to.

I have tried many guided meditation CDs in the past for relaxing and de-stressing. This is definitely one of the best. The music is so soothing and pleasurable that even by itself would be very effective as a relaxation tape. Add to that the narration which is gently reassuring and leads you to a very calm place. I like all of the tracks, but especially the "Total Body" selection which works great as a bedtime prep for a good night's sleep. Overall a great CD.

I am absolutely amazed by this! I was extremely skeptical, thinking this couldn't possibly work. BUT I was wrong. I was able to completely relax, which I haven't done in years, truly! The CD concentrated on all areas of the body and kept the mind relaxed by focusing on the various body parts. The background music was very soothing. Love it. Thank you so much!

This is the latest in the Steve Murray's reiki healing attunement. In my opinion this is the best work Steve has done so far apart from his Reiki Music attunement Vol 1. The music is so well done that it instantly transforms the listener into a different world which is very tranquil and serene. If you are sensitive to Reiki flow, you can feel that too as soon as you turn on the music. The track is about an hour long without any interruptions which I think is great and help you concentrate and focus on any healing work you are doing. I highly recommend this cd to all for any healing work or just to get relax. You can play this music while at home or at work at low volume and do your work and it helps to be more creative, energetic and innovative in anything you are doing. Steve Murray, we want more such music from you in the future. Thank you for this amazing cd.

I have listened to many music cds that claimed to help allign the chakras,or heal emotional and mental scars. This cd is the best I have ever heard! It actually soothed and calmed me after an extremely harrowing day. I have used this cd several times now and find the effects to be better each time. Truly worth the money. I was able to release my frustration and go on with peace in my heart.

5 out of 5 stars Soothing Sounds for the Stressed-Out.......2004-06-13

On the back of this CD it states this music is by "pioneer sound healers". I'm aware of the therapeutic effects that music can possess but I've never heard of "sound healers" before. I won't argue, I'll take their word for it. One thing I do know - this is incredibly beautiful and effective music for meditating, relaxing and falling asleep.

Some numbers contain the serene bliss of nature sounds right up front combined with soothing melodies while others keep the ocean, wind and whatever else softly layered in the background. A few more numbers are accompanied by whispery female vocals. All the tracks flow together nicely without any abrupt changes in mood.

On a few occasions I've listened to this CD while working on the computer - right now is a good example - and have noticed less tension in my neck and shoulders and my breathing slower and deeper. Anything that succeeds at the demanding task of coaxing my twitchy little brain into an even partial state of tranquility truly deserves my highest recommendation.

5 out of 5 stars Musical Healing is Profoundly Powerful.......2002-11-05

As an energetic healer for over 15 years I am quite aware of the profound influence that subtle energies can have in terms of providing general healing effects. This release from Sequoia Records contains an extraordinary compilation of the most soothing and meditative tracks from the very best of their label artists, perfectly sequenced into a beautifully fluid and peaceful journey that uplifts and nourishes the soul. When I put this on for my client's sessions the music really assists in melting their tensions away and creates a wonderful sound environment within which to do my healing work. I especially like the two new tracks from the Gordon brothers, Healing Passage and Healing Ocean and was delighted to find Sophia's Sweet Surrender contained on the release. The CD is rounded out well with fantastic tracks from Gary Stadler (one of my favorite Sequoia artists), Zingaia and Solaria. All in all Musical Healing is an incredibly harmonious, gorgeously balanced and profoundly powerful album. Take two tracks and forget about needing to call your doctor.

This compilation album from the folks at Sequoia Records comes with several unexpected gifts, chief among them that the exquisitely sensuous singer Sophia has joined the Sequoia family. Her "Sweet Surrender" remains a particular favorite, and I'm delighted that it appears on Musical Healing. Other gifts include three previously unreleased tracks "Twin Souls" by Solaria, and "Healing Passage" and Healing Ocean" by David and Steve Gordon.
Many of the tracks on Musical Healing include lushly textured nature sounds with bird songs, waves, and running water weaving in and out. Gary Stadler, Stephannie, Zingaia and Deborah Martin all have tracks on the album, making Musical Healing a great introduction to the softer side of Sequoia Records. Flute, harp, piano, guitar and angelic vocals join the nature sounds, creating a stress-free atmosphere conducive to massage, meditation, yoga, Reiki, and other healing modalities. Profoundly relaxing and spiritually uplifting, Musical Healing is a journey to the healing heart.

This CD was bought to enhance my ability to practice Tai Chi. I'm here to attest that it does more than that. It's one of the most peaceful pieces of music I have ever heard. Not only is it conducive for any meditative activity, it's music to just sit and enjoy, and to allow your imagination to flow.

Picture yourself on a high mountain top looking out onto a calm sea, just as the sun is rising or setting. Your surroundings are quiet and calm. If you can imagine this, then that peaceful feeling that should overcome you is what this CD reminds me of. This is a winner, in my book!!

My primary intent in buying this CD was to add to my collection of CDs that I use for practicing Tai Chi (Yang Style). This CD was just too New Age like for my taste. I prefer music with more of an Asian sound for my Tai Chi practice. This CD would be more suitable to use for meditation or sleeping. If you like the New Age/Spa type of sound then this CD is one you may want to add to your collection.

I am taking Tai Chi this semester and find this cd should be very useful to practice Tai Chi with, but just playing it with out practicing Tai Chi is very relaxing. I can feel the stress just melting away and all my troubles and worries going away wile I listen to this music. It is a must have if you need something to practice Tai Chi with or if you just need to get away from the real world and just relax.

This is one of my top 5 CDs. It's soothing and relaxing enough to use before going to bed, yet melodical and flowing enough to use for my morning Qigong and meditations. The music has a character, but it is never intrusive. It's multi-layered, but it is not overwhelming and not too complex. Wonderful!!!

A very soothing album. Perfect for reflection, meditation and Shiastu of course. Llewellyn is a talented musician and has put out many soothing albums. All the tracks on the album are nice, but then there are some that are stunning:

8. Prophecy: The best track on the entire album. It is not as a complex composition, but then composing a simple stuff is equally complex. The physiological affect of the track on the listener is almost immediate, you'll be immersed in a sea of tranquility and every thought crossing your mind will be beautiful.
9. The Dreamweavers: This track with Juliana's hypnotic chants will tap into your subconscious. I generally play an online radio station before going to bed. One night, I was woken from my deep sleep by some enchanting music that seemed liked a dreamscape. It was in fact this beautiful track that was enchanting the subconscious. I got up, checked the album playing and ordered it the following morning.

I loved this CD! I think one of my clients stole it because it is such an amazing CD...so I am buying it again. It has a variety of songs which make it an awesome compliation. It is great to work to because it is not boring or meditative, but still extremely relaxing. It is a must have for a massage therapist's music collection.

P.S. I walked down the Isle to Dreamweavers on the top of a mountain. Play it loud...it sounds like angles comming down from heaven.

I bought this without hearing it first -- am glad I did. I play it when I get shiatsu treatments. I find it extraordinarily relaxing. Of course, you can play it at other times as well. I heartedly recommend it -- excellent for meditation as well, or just for quiet listening. I like to play such music when I'm reading spiritual books (e.g. Dzogchen).

I first purchased this CD at a local new-age bookstore. I did not listen to it before pursnasing, but I was looking for something to use with m patients in relaxation sessions. So I took a chance and have been rewarded ever since.

I play this CD almost every day - with my clients, when meditationg, when writing as I go into my "think tank". My clients find the music relaxing, interesting and inspirational. They request it when given a choice of music during sessions.

I used the track #4 "Forbidden Love" as a background for a Heart Meditation that I read and use often. I feel a great expansion of light from that exercise.

This was the first of Llewellyn's music in my collection. I then purchased the Reiki CD and enjoy that one also. He is now on my favourite list. Keep up the good work.
