About the Artist
Snorri was born in Reykjavik, Iceland, October 28th 1963, the youngest of five siblings. His real name is Snorri Gudmundsson. He claims that growing up in Iceland was a great experience and the closeness to the country's unspoiled wilderness truly impacted his upbringing.

Snorri lived in Reykjavik from birth until 1988, when he left for Florida, to study Aerospace Engineering, his childhood dream. He graduated Magna Cum Laude in 1991 with B.Sc. and in 1993 with M.Sc. in Aerospace Engineering from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. Currently, he is a practicing Aerospace Engineer with Cirrus Design Corporation in Duluth, Minnesota, where he resides.

Snorri has been involved in music since an early age and was initially taught to play the piano by his mother. However, for the most part he is self-taught. Being exposed to the work of the geniuses of classical music at an early age shaped Snorri's musical aspirations. Among his favorite artists are Rachmaninoff, Tchaikovsky, Chopin, and Debussy.

Less demanding and relaxing melodic music has always appealed to Snorri. Besides Classical Music, his favorite music is contemporary instrumental music, which he claims allows the composer to express deep emotions in a special way. Among artists that have influenced him are Vangelis, Yanni, Giovanni, and Himekami.

Cosmic Journey is Snorri's third CD. It contains 11 original compositions. This CD, just like Snorri's two previous CDs has a theme taken from Nature. This time, the theme is space and space exploration. Like one can see from the track names, each either bears the name of some Celestial Object or concepts associated with space.

It can be said that Cosmic Journey opens the senses to the sounds of space. The music spirits us through the icy vastness of space with Snorri's familiar yet dynamically expanded style. Synthesized songs pulse brightly and blend with clear new choruses of voices previously unheard. The universe explodes with rich sound, and dazzles us with its brilliant complexities as the tones illuminate space and are captured by Snorri as no one has ever heard it before.

This evocative disc by Charles Fitts uses sound to paint a feeling of traveling through the vastness of space. I felt light above the earth looking at all of the variety of creation. I am not a huge fan of electronic music, but Fitts uses the synthesizer to it's ultimate advantage. A true gem!

Cosmos with a Twist.......2000-11-26

This is not a disc of your average "Space Music." It is a combination of different styles that I heard on a new music show on our public radio station, KUHF. I found this CD a real pleasure for a few reasons; variety, inventiveness and, while the premise is not entirely clear, a very creative soundscape. I would recommend it highly.

The Best Unknown Artist...A Must Buy!!!.......2006-07-16

This CD is absoluetly jammin' I can't say any simpler than that. To bad Amazon won't let you preview the tracks to this CD. Sales for this disc would skyrocket as a result. For those that don't know, Wigfall plays alto sax and can hold his own against any of todays major label contempoary jazz sax players. What sets this CD apart from the run of mill just another sax player cd's is not only his sound but his band is incredible. This is contempoary jazz at it's best. It is not some instrumental versions of R&B but straight in your face funky jazz that will but a smile on your face everytime you play it.

I have purchased the newest cd....Cosmic Journey.....and LOVE IT!!! I do have my favorites and they are Supernova and Cepheids. Needless to say, Snorri's piano playing is my favorite of all. Cepheids was a sleeper for me and after hearing it a few times, I have to say I can't hear it enough and play it over and over ..and never tire of it.

I love Snorri's music. It never fails to calm me and put me in a wonderful mood....Hoping there is a cd to follow this one.
