About the Artist
The name KriyaShakti is an ancient Sanskrit word referring to one of the seven forces of the universe, specifically to the power of thought and imagination in a creative endeavor. Each time KriyaShakti plays it is a once-in-a-lifetime adventure one time, one meeting. It's all one take. Every participant feels the groove and energy in the moment: listener and musician alike.
The monks of KriyaShakti, centered in Sedona, Arizona, "have come together to create and inspire."1 Yakima Lee and Jeff Kincaid both hold graduate degrees and have dedicated themselves to spreading light to humanity through music. Their byline is in the form of a Decree: "We call for all the souls of light on the planet to unite."
In December of 1999, KriyaShakti performed for the first time publicly it was also the first time the musicians played together. They spent the next two and a half years in the studio developing their new sound, occasionally surfacing for concerts. Since then, they have released multiple CD recordings on the Celestial Light Label and have appeared at colleges and at special events such as the 2001 Hand to Hand Peace Festival held at Yokohama International Stadium in Japan and the Harvest of the Spirit gathering in Arizona. Their latest CD release is entitled Enter the Dymensional Vortex.
Yakima Lee (vocals, keyboards and electric wind instrument) brings years of professional experience in the music industry as a performer, an engineer and producer. Lee has shared the stage with such famous acts as the Doors, Santana, Pink Floyd, the Grateful Dead and numerous others. He also composed and performed "Astarte" for the Joffrey Ballet with a renowned band from the Northwest called Crome Syrcus.
Jeff Kincaid (guitar and guitar synth) has years of professional experience as a performer and teacher. Jeff's work has gathered accolades from a wide spectrum of listeners as he continues to push the envelope of modern guitar taking it to hitherto unexplored territory.
Live KriyaShakti performances combine music, a multi-media light/visual exposition and dymensional trance dance into a tangible experience of the higher dimensions. Audiences are invited to participate in the Decrees, like Mantras, Chants or Prayers, calling forth what we want to see appear in our world. Repeating a Decree builds momentum and increases the vibrational thrust and power.
KriyaShakti presents the ultimate new listening experience.
