Hands down, this is one of the best CD's for renewal and relaxation. If your mind is filled with thoughts and you want to clear them, play this CD. I wish I could find more CD's by Craid Pruess with Ananda (the voice on this CD). Truly one of the best healing sounds available.

    This artist just keep on going~! I loved her first song I heard by accident, started to buy up ALL her albums. This album is one of her BEST album, well as usual, YOU SIMPLY CAN NOT GO WRONG buying ANY of her ALBUMs. I thought BEATLES was the only ARTIST on the PLANET that you can not go wrong with ANY of their album. I love this new discovery, and listening to such POWERFUL SOFT INSPIRING SPIRITUAL sound and music. WOW..........WOW~!!!!!!!

    After listening to Grace, I thought I wanted every album from Snatum Kaur. But after receiving this album, I was thoroughly disappointed. I expected at least 6 songs. What I received was 3 Interfaith Prayers which were all thoroughly disappointing. This album does not reflect the ability and talent of Snatum Kaur, and I'm really disappointed.

    Track 6 "Om Nama Shivaya" lasts for 30 minutes, and those who are chanting are probably already in a state approaching ananda. I believe it will transport you effortlessly to a wonderful transpersonal state because that's what I experienced. Please sit for at least five minutes in silence after listening to any of the six tracks and you will deepen in the moment. Namaste.

    The first time I listened to this was after I went for a talk by Sri Sri Ravi Shankar. After the meditation that he led, to listen to this CD was heaven itself.
    I bought this CD after completing my Art of Living Course. And I listened to it for 3 months everyday! In fact, in those 3 month, I would refuse to listen to any other music!
    This will take you to a completely different space!

    The approach of these singers is one focused on beauty of tone without affectation. Natural instruments enhance and combine to set a very meditative tone to this incredibly beautiful recording. The performances ring true and produces a resonance of spirit that should set the standard toward which others move. That direction of movement is into an ethereal atmosphere of timelessness whose anchor is peace. I can't get enough of this: more, please!

    I really enjoyed the music especially the first two tracks. They have become my favorite on the cd. I first heard it in a meditation group and "really' heard it. I have numerous chanting cd's but this is my favorite. I hear the heart and soul of the singers.

      4 out of 5 stars Strange interpretation of "classical".......2005-01-17

      I bought this CD because it contained some songs I was having a hard time finding elsewhere, such as Passo pel prat, Chants d'Auvergne sung by Fredrica Von Stade. However, some of the songs on this CD do not seem to belong e.g. all three songs by John Williams, Mack the Knife, Barbra Streisand, and the Psycho Murder Theme for starters, and many more.

      I gave the CD 4 stars only because I was happy that I was able to find a few somewhat rare tracks.

      This is a sampler in the truest meaning of the word. I bought this 4 CD work primarly for two tracks, but also because I was interested to see what else was out there without investing a fortune in CD's I wouldn't like! I was surprised by the wide diversity of music ranging from true classical and jazz to contemporary compositions and interpretations.

      While I find some tracks divine (Williams's _Schindler's List_), I find other tracks unsettling (_Beau Soir_ performed by Barbra Streisand). But when you are trying to span 100 years of music, you will (and should) encounter all tastes and styles. Overall, I really enjoy listening to this set. My only regret is that I don't have a CD changer...

        We have dozens of classical carol CDs, from medieval to modern. This is our favorite. Great selection, great performances. Some, including Rocking, Salve Puerule, Alleluja! Freuet Euch, and Puer Natus, are poignant enough to make you weep. The modern selections--a new setting of Tomorrow Shall Be My Dancing Day, for example--stay focused on Christmas spirit without falling into the wretched excesses choral music is prey to. And the standards, such as Hark! The Herald Angels Sing, are delivered with admirable directness and good taste. My wife & I love this album. If we could have just two, it would be this and Carols from the Old & New Worlds (Hillier, Theatre of Voices), which complements Simon Preston's efforts--both CDs possess both freshness and an admirable gravitas--not an easy combination to come by. Listen to the audio snippets on this Web site. If your heart and your ears work, they should convince you.

        This is the CD I listen to the most during the Christmas season. I like the clarity of the choir and the variety of carols. Some of them are straightforward renditions of carols with organ accompaniment. Others are choir only. Some were familiar to me and others were new to me when I bought the CD, but have become Christmas favorites. This is a good CD for those who are tired of the typical compendium of Christmas carols by listless artists. This one always has something new to offer at every listening.

          How anyone can say these chants sound the same must have ears of tin! They are all distinctly differently with haunting refrains that make you think you are in an Abbey listening to Monks at worship in a way that God must surely hear, from the rafters to the heavens, via voices that could make crystal tremble. So if you want a unique experience music wise then get this CD, it is as different as different can be and that's the truth.

          All of the songs on this album sound the same. Very relaxing because there is not a difference between any of the songs - At ALL. It is however still 3 stars better than rap
