Some of the most superlative ambient music I've heard-a work of staggering beauty and nuance, at once improvisational and composed.

Product Description
Godspace continues the spacious vocal music of Spectral Voices' recordings from the water tower. This is Jim Cole's solo debut and is the fourth CD released on Spectral Spiral Music. Godspace's many-voiced layers of harmonic singing were created within the deep reverberation of a virtual water tower with extensive looping. The only sound source for this album was the human voice.

5 out of 5 stars More haunting harmonics from Jim Cole.......2002-06-10

This is yet another beautiful release from Jim Cole. I suspect that this album was also conceived in the "Water Tower", that mysterious structure that brings incredible richness to his voice. After listening to the album in its entirety, I must say that track 1, entitled "Astral", is the most powerful and moving of the three tracks. Fortunately, you are priviliged to experience 25 minutes of it (the one long track is subdivided into three unbroken sections - each with a name, although the music never ceases) Track 2 (Light shines in your heart), which itself spans over 19 minutes, is more minimal in nature, fundamentally less moving perhaps, but still evocative. During Track 3, "Transformations" the music regains a sense of life, of dynamism. It is a unique "29:29 seconds" - very mysterious. This album is as good as any of his previous releases, including his fabulous 1st album, "Coalescence". Though similar in nature, Jim's harmonics have evolved, and Godspace is distinctly different from his first album. I'm looking forward to his next album, eagerly.
