Product Description
New Age Music spiced with Cuban & Afro-Cuban rhythms. All music has been composed and performed by me, Mario Salas-Lanz, with synthesizers. It's main motif, comprised of six notes, "Juntos para Siempre," (its title in Spanish), goes through several variations throughout its twelve cuts -- the twelve months of the year. It is, therefore, intertwined making it ‘one theme' with twelve variations and twelve states of mind.

Dear Music Lover:
This is my ‘Sonorous Elegy,' and yours too, all through its twelve months. It was conceived in reason, though born out of pain, joy, rhythm … Rhyme. Its quavers, demisemiquavers, minims and crotchets are … as they are; sometimes chaotic, and sometimes tapping into calm, they behave. I did not borrow these notes but I invested them with wings; they did not spring from me, but my hand pulsated them. For are we not part of the universal stave? Are we not Do, Sol, La, within a harmonious cosmos, perennially menaced to lose perfect pitch by the destabilizing threat of the ‘off key?' Are we not part of the symphonic conscience that strives to unite us in concert? Yet we must unsheathe the fork in battle to attain, and retain, the fine-tuning of individualism. Freedom of choice! Be it always in fashion. That grand finale must forever remain our greatest challenge, quest and endeavor, if I may say so. And yes: We are all unique, for better or for worse. And yet, I have only twelve months, twelve disciples, twelve tones and twelve keys. More than enough! And yes, I confess. Guilty am I of being quite fond of José Julián Martí and Kahil Gibran -- among so many others. Had you not guessed by now!

Esta es mi Elegía Sonora, y suya también, durante sus doce meses. En razón, fue concebida; surgió de dolor, júbilo, ritmo... Rima. Sus corcheas, blancas, negras y fusas son … como son; a veces son caóticas, otras veces tocan calma. Prestadas, no han sido. Sin embargo, sus notas emprendieron vuelo a través de mí; no brotaron de mí, aunque fueron percutidas por mí, ¿pues acaso no somos parte del gran pentagrama universal? ¿No somos acaso Do, Sol, La, dentro de un cosmos harmonioso, siempre amenazado con ser destemplado de perfecto oído por el sórdido mal de desafino? ¿Acaso no cohabitamos en sinfónica conciencia que lucha por concierto? Y aún así, debemos desenfundar martillo para librar batalla; para lograr, y retener, y preservar el afinamiento propio del individualismo ¡La libertad, siempre en boga! Ese gran fínale será siempre nuestro mayor reto, fin y afán -- diría yo. ¡Sí! Todos somos ‘exclusivos,' para bien o para mal. Y aún así, sólo tengo doce meses, doce discípulos, doce tonos y doce notas. ¡Más que suficiente! Y, sí, lo confieso.
