Product Description
This album is an exploration into opposite feelings. One track sinister and the next open minded and hopeful.
All the instruments are played by hand the old fashioned way by Vincent Gabriel Antonini with help from friend Pascal Vincent and include Guitars, keyboards, bass recorder, bass guitar, drums, percussions, flutes, wind, air, rain, keyboards, house-hold items such as drills, screw drivers and even whistling radiators as well as rocks, oceans, rare birds and other assorted animals as well, trains in the night, and landlords knockin at the door. The human experience both exotic and familiar. There is also a booklet of poems inside the CD as well. Unforeseen is neither bad nor good, chaotic or joyous. Just hidden around the corner always fragile giving change it's odor. Enjoy

Great (I suppose) if you already know the words.......2003-03-13
For me, the voices were faint relative to the musical instruments. It was difficult to hear them. Yet, the language was so stylized that, even when heard, understanding the words was tedious and exasperating. Most mannerisms of the stage originated in purposeful behavior, I feel sure, but they detract from the performance when overindulged. I think I'd prefer a studio recording in which the singers sang with unpretentious style right into a microphone, and the audio engineer adjusted tone and timbre. I imagine elitists cluck-clucking about the purity of music without microphones. In my opinion, if you're making a CD, then you've sinned already, so why not go all the way and make a great CD? If my dear reader remains with me at this stage of my rant, I say the performance at the opera house may be mahvelous and pristine, but a CD and an opera house are different media, and performers should optimize for the medium. However, this recording of Pinafore is the best I've found of the sad available lot. I'd rate it 2 stars if it weren't superlative.
... He's hardly ever sick at sea ...........2001-07-31
I must admit, I only bought the opera because I was rather amused by Sideshow Bob's rendition of the HMS Pinafore (Cape Feare, The Simpsons). Since then, I've bought (and enjoyed) the Mikado, planning to get the Pirates of Penzance soon. This opera is both hilarious and beautiful, mainly thanks to a great performance by the D'Oyly Carte opera company. If you're at all interested in classical music and the opera (which you should be), this is something that everyone should have.
Outstanding recording - average selection.......2001-06-14
Nothing more needs to be said about this superb D'Oyly Carte Pinafore, which won a well-dseerved Rosette from the Penguin Guide. Yet, in this highlights disc, I find that despite containing most of the major scenes, I dearly wish that Decca had chosen the excerpts a little more carefully. The lack of the entire "Carefully on tiptoe stealing" sequence seems to be an extremely serious minus in my book, particularly when it presents a sharp twist in the story. In addition, I also find that the inclusion of the entire "Over the bright blue sea" sequence is a little too - too redundent because the entrance of Sir Joseph is more important. Nevertheless, this is a wonderful disc of Pinafore excerpts. It presents a generous selection of excerpts that offers a good playing time without affecting sales of the complete set, and it also is enough to make one feel contented for a long time before purchasing the complete recording.
A generous selection!.......2001-01-05
With so much of the recording offered as highlights it would have been better to purchase the full operetta. This recording dates from 1960 and is superalative in every respect. John Reed, Jean Hindmarsh, Thomas Round together with the late Donald Adams are reasons enough to acquire this version. The only missing quality is the dialogue. Never was the libretti of Gilbert ever spoken with more relish for the language and with such finesse. If you decide upon further investigation I urge you to do so.

quialty music.......2004-04-15
this album is outstanding. illogic is a true mc, that deserves respect. his lyrics are fun, deep, broad, astract, original....everything!! the thing i like most about him tho, is his delivery--the way the words flow out his mouth, his cadence, is simply outstanding. just great breath control. Contrary to others, i loved the production of this album. every track complemented ILL's direction. i got this album about a month ago and can't stop listening to it. Really feeling him. My favorite cut...."check it out"
"purified, still i demonstrated the wack is eliminated'"
worth buying for "hate in a puddle alone".......2001-11-28
illogic. what an amazing talent. his lyrics are incredible and "hate in a puddle" has to be one of the greatest tracks i've ever heard. some of the beats are misses but on the whole this album is a must and illogic's upcoming lp will no doubt be great as well
Lyrical Masterpiece!.......2001-05-31
This album is absolutely brilliant! At first, I recieved it and didn't enjoy the beats that much, but once I sat down and listened to the lyrics I was just amazed! Imagine listening to Ras Kass's Soul on Ice and you'll understand what I mean! Well, even though the production isn't amazing or will get you to bump your head with pounding bass every song, there are some majestic production moments. My two favorite beats are from the songs "Angel" and "Hate in a Puddle" in which producer Blueprint uses soft piano to correspond with the tone of the song. Illogic is an emcee that should rank in the upper echelon of any knowledgeable hip hop head's list. His ability to switch from battle raps ("Blaow and "Me Vs. Myself") to conceptual poetics that are amazing ("Angel and "Hate in a Puddle"). For fans of underground rap, there are a few guest spots. These include Dose-One, BlackSmif, Lioness, and Blueprint. So to conclude, GET THIS ALBUM JUST FOR THE ILL LYRICS!!

Album Description
Unforeseen Events is the latest of many pieces David Behrman has made with computer software designed to interact in real time with a solo performer. The electronic timbres are intended to complement the sounds of Ben Neill's instrument--the admirable and humorous mutantrumpet, with its three separately-mutable and playable bells. Refractive Light consists of three small pieces based on an interweaving and overlapping of simple phrases. A musician strikes pitches which trigger responses in the form of sustained tones which die out after a few seconds, deflecting the pitches of other on tones, so that harmonic changes occur at the on-and-off edges of overlappping layers. The idea can give rise to a kind of fanning or breathing rhythm which adapts itself to different styles of playing, and to a harmonic vocabulary with dozens or scores of family members.

Album Description
This isn't a "jazzy" album, per se. It's a different album, in a very original way. The trio used the same idea they did with the Oz Sessions: connect with the general public.
From remakes of Sting's "Every Little Thing She Does is Magic" and Soundgarden's "Black Hole Sun" to mesmerizing original compositions, this CD is magnificent.

Interesting and Enjoyable.......2004-12-08
I heard an arrangement of "Every Little Thing" on my local jazz station and was so impressed that I had to check out the rest of this CD. Chad certainly has talent and his arrangements are creative. The music is a little more sophisticated but still maintains a relaxed and enjoyable feel. Highly recommended for those who like instrumentals.

Bravo, Vincenzo!.......2003-07-26
I had to visit this site to order another copy for use on the road. The music is perfect for background for serious work, but if you're not careful the subtleties of the performances will suck you in and you'll just listen, with a grin on your face and your inner foot tapping. I especially like the title track, The Fallen Veil, and Floating Innocence. Can't wait for the next bundle of goodies from this fascinating artist.
Instrumental Awe for the Ages.......2002-06-14
I picked up 'Unforeseen' several days ago, and it is becoming the rhythm of my life. Vincent Gabriel Antonini is an artistic genius. This album needs to be heard by anyone who's ever held close a musical instrument. Mr. Antonini demonstrates a master's skill in birthing sonic exhileration from mute objects of wood, metal, strings and skins. The sheer range of emotion captured in this work is breathtaking. This is comfort music to get lost in, to absorb, to use as a reflector of one's rarely tapped inner spirit. Music fans world-wide owe Vincent Gabriel Antonini a debt of gratitude. 'Unforeseen' opens our eyes and our hearts to the extreme boundaries of life's glorious potential. It is a musical vehicle to ride on the journey to inner peace and discovery. May the songs be with you.

Awesome!.......2002-04-02
I listened to it in my mom's car one day, and I couldn't help but buy one for myself. I usually don't listen to this kind of music, but I instantly fell in love with the sounds of this CD. I really like the first track called "Land Mime." It's Great. You'll never hear anything else like it!
I recommend it.......2002-03-28
This CD was one of the best i've heard in a long time. I've been recommending it to all of my buddies. Although kids my age should be listening to pop music and rap, I feel drawn to this type. It calms me down, I actually like to fall asleep to the sounds of the cut "Land Mime." This CD soothes the soul! It's something everyone should have.
