With her new CD, "Angel Dreaming," Lisa Pressman has redefined New Age piano and voice. Drawing on her extensive study of classical and jazz, she has created a unique style all her own. The Latin rhythms and classic orchestrations blend seamlessly with her ethereal melodies and inspirational lyrics. Her sensitive touch on the piano and her intimate vocals combine to create an other-worldly experience. From the opening notes of Angel Dreaming, Lisa creates the peaceful atmosphere that was sustained throughout the recording. The first song "To Be Free" is a contemplative search for oneself, over gentle Brazilian rhythms. Then, "The Magic Of Your Love," a New Age love song written with co-producer Tim Ponzek, highlights the depth of Lisas piano improvisations. Lisa continues her explorations of the relationship between woman, man and spirit with the sensual ballad "Keep This Night." Following is the title track, the beautiful instrumental "Angel Dreaming." Returning to the rhythms of Brazil, "Earthen Dance" is a cry for spiritual love. Lisas approach to Tims bolero, "Wrapped In The Love," brings to life the vulnerability of new love. Inspired by the loss of close friends to AIDS, Lisa wrote "Hes Had Better Days" to commemorate their spirit. The second instrumental, "So Long Ago," again combines Lisas lyrical sense of melody with her subtle romantic piano. "Promises" was originally written for her sister Ilene, for her marriage and celebrates the commitment between lovers. Lisa continues on the spiritual path with the light and airy "Waltz Of Serenity," then portrays the sorrow of a love lost with the pensive "Descending." Lisa completes the CD with "A Fighting Chance," an anthem to peace.

I came across this CD at a music festival booth. I asked the vendor what would be good for massage, as I am a CMT. He popped The Dreaming into a CD and I listened for about 5 minutes before I was hooked.

Just about every one of the songs on the CD is amazing. An incredible mix of Middle Eastern rhythms, ethereal voices, and otherwordly ambience. People ask me all the time what I am playing when I use this CD for my massage sessions. I recently got a DJ friend into this music, and he's in the process of acquiring all 4 CDs by this duo.

My absolute favourite song is Dmaot Malach. When I listen to it with my boyfriend, it feels like we're a million miles away from the world.
We're major fans of Zero 7 and Sound Tribe Sector 9, and this CD is also with us on any trip or evening together.

I had heard several tracks from this CD and was excited about receiving it, however, I was blown away by the fact that I LOVED EVERY TRACK on it. Not only from the point of view of a fan of fabulous music, but from the fact that I can use the music in the psychotherapeutic exercises I facilitate (Breathwork and tantra therapy). Every track is hugely evocative and transporting and the sequence of the tracks is perfect. Couldn't be happier about a music purchase.

One of our teacher at the yoga studio put this music during a class. Suddenly, everything was different, everything was flowing with grace and I would feel going deep into myself as the poses went.
But you don't need to practice yoga to like it. It's real music and the soul and the inspiration are there.

I found this CD in a yoga shop and bought it without knowing anything about it. it was one of the best purchases i made! The soft and melodic tracks, with sophisticated rhythms and beats underneath are perfect to play around the house, and especially when working. I'm a graphic designer, and we play this CD all the time in the studio. It really helps the creative flow...! And what's interesting is that i don't seem to be getting tired of it, i just keep discovering new layers and depth.
It's a wonderful CD, i highly recommend it.

I got this for my grand daughter and decided to open it un and listen it to it before I sent it to her. I loved it so much that I kept this copy for myself and bought another one for her. I also bought one to give as a baby shower gift! The songs and music on these CD's are just so nice! I find them VERY relaxing and peaceful. I think this should be a must for every baby. My grand daughter loves it. It immediately calms down a fussy baby. You can't put a price on that!

I love this CD collection. My son loves to cuddle and listen to soothing and dulcet tones of the author reading the story. By the second track he is getting drowsy and by 5th one, the eyes are closed. It's the only CD that keeps him entertained till he falls asleep in the crib. The other CD's are great at stopping cranky moods. I don't know what it is about this collection but it's just made for little ears!

      On "Angel Dreaming", Lisa Pressman's voice is smooth, sultry and soothing to the ear. The music creates a calm atmosphere for contemplation while providing a steady upbeat rhythm. The lyrics plant seeds of harmony and love while blending into the melody. This a must have CD for your collection.

      This CD brings me peaceful inspiration in the midst of day-to-day wackiness, reminding me to embrace life's events and moments from within, and of the self-intimate existence each individual lives but can not express. Lisa's music raises the eloquence and elegance of what I felt at her CD's first listening. As I revisited this CD I found more discovery and enjoyment, as with all genuinely creative art with the power to touch.

        John McCormack's career as an opera star was relatively brief, though it included a number of engagements at Covent Garden and the Met between 1907 and 1919. It was as a recitalist, from about 1910 until the mid-1930s, that he enjoyed his greatest success. Yet he might have ended up a footnote in musical history had it not been for one thing: the phonograph. McCormack's 791 surviving recordings, made between 1904 and 1942, cover a formidable range of material, showing what a versatile artist he was. His vibrant timbre and clarion brilliance--so refreshing to encounter, even in 70-year-old transcriptions--utterly annihilate the wimpy efforts of such popular modern-day "voices" as Andrea Bocelli. Here was someone who really knew how to sing, who cultivated a burnished beauty of tone from bottom to top, whose delivery sparkled. All of that can be heard on this three-CD compilation from Nimbus, with individual discs showcasing the Irish-born tenor in operatic selections, popular and Irish song, and recital repertory recorded with the violinist Fritz Kreisler. The choice of material proves thoroughly representative, and the remasterings are more than satisfactory. --Ted Libbey
