Soulmate
Having been asked repeatedly during my live performances the magical question . . . "Do you have any of your own songs?" was the spark that triggered the development of cd recordings using my own material. I was intrigued with this concept, since writing music has been second nature to me for as long as I can remember. I had always regarded my writings to be highly personal, and had not shared them with my audiences.
I knew the time was right for me to "try my wings", with regard to presenting my own material, and was pleasantly surprised to receive enthusiastic and very favorable reactions to my music. This, in turn, encouraged me to move forward in my career by focusing on songwriting. As a result, I am immersed in the production of my extensive array of unpublished compositions.
The response from my first solo album, "Soulmate" has been so favorable, that I am very inspired to complete my upcoming cd, which has evolved as a result of the 911 tragedies. This is soon to be followed by the many inspirational writings from my past years.

I am so pleased to introduce my first solo album, "Soulmate". My collection of music for this cd is designed to evoke feelings of well being, relaxation, meditation, and spirituality.
I was graced with the pleasure of writing this cd amidst the peace and tranquility of the Virgin Islands, and it is my desire that my songs echo this beauty and the listeners feel transported to a calm and soothing world of peace.
My intent in creating the title song, "Soulmate", and its companion, "Angel", is to capture and unleash the essence of the spiritual being in each of us, and our need to share the power of love.

Introspective and melancholic, Mu-Ziq revisits his roots in the early '90s ambient techno scene pioneered by, among others, The Black Dog, Aphex Twin, and himself.
Among these 17 tracks of off-key melodies, nauseous harmonies, and woozy beats can be found gems such as the beautiful "Strawberry Fields Hotel" in which a lone bassline strikes out a refrain of unexpected simplicity while bees swarm overhead around a fig tree. Or "Drum Light," where a five-part melody gives way to a startling noise assault. "Acid Steak Night," a collaboration with labelmate The Doubtful Guest, is a more straightforward techno number with 303 basslines duking it out with spooky melodic synth lines.
A melodic tour de force, Duntisbourne Abbots Soulmate Devastation Technique is a welcome return to one of the most vital artists in music today.
