About the Artist
"Quickpeak" originated in the New Jersey area. Joe and Brian met at Rowan University in Glassboro, New Jersey, where both majored in music. They formed a friendship and a unique musical bond. They began playing together that year and found gigs throughout the Philadelphia and New Jersey area. Playing up to five times a week the two began to forge an original sound. The pair started writing original compositions that would later become the material for the "Silverlining" CD. Schooled not only just in jazz but also other musical styles, Brian and Joe began to develop a sound that is both a mix of pop and jazz. They were influenced from such diverse musicians as Grover Washington, Dave Koz, The Beatles, Dave Brubeck, Wayne Shorter, and Art Pepper. Their sound can be best described as "Smooth Jazz" with a very down to earth feel and sound.

Silverlining, recorded over the time span of one year, is a unique collection of original smooth jazz featuring guitar and sax. If you like relaxing but engaging music this CD is for you. Quickpeak blends such musical styles as bossa nova, pop, funk, rock, jazz, and classical to create a sound both intriguing and soothing. The first track, Dance of the Wind, has a bossa nova style rhythm to it with an engaging melody. If you like jazz with a pop feel, then you will enjoy the song Green Eyes. Fans of funk will enjoy many of the other songs on the CD including Serkan's Groove and Sticks and Brushes. Light and Shade is one of two compositions on the disc that is almost exclusively guitar and sax. Sunlight Serenade is another bossa nova on the album. This composition has an uplifting melody with a great background of nylon string guitar, strings, flute and piano. Ending the CD is Silverlining. This composition features guitar and sax in a classical setting. Relaxing, mellow but still engaging is the way to best describe the music of Quickpeak.

Not to be missed!.......2002-03-03

The CD blends exceptional technique by each artist with a unique and soothing sound. I've made it my dinnertime essential to have it playing in the background! "Serkan's Groove" is my favorite. Forget any other jazz CD, this one is absolutely the most enjoyable!

A great jazz CD!.......2002-01-24

I found this CD to be absolutely wonderful! As a musician for over 30 years, I thought the technique and quality of both artists was exceptional. The original selections are enjoyable and relaxing - and the saxophone's tone is superb! I play this CD over and over again and I highly recommend it.

Every song is wonderful with a unique sound. The band definetly puts there heart & soul into it.
