About the Artist
My dream is to inspire all to feel and live their true greatness. As a child, I remember wishing I could show others what I saw in them--beauty, brilliance, goodness and light. I knew that if they could see themselves for who they really are, they would be filled with joy and excitement to pass it on, and the world would be made safe.

lost my passion for light and love. I search for the heart treasures of life--stunning paintings, moving music, brilliant designs in jewelry, architecture and landscape, inspiring ideas, life-changing stories and quotes, and anything that will bring me closer to God. Being a part of these by bringing them together, or creating my own is a delicious endeavor. Sharing these discoveries is my life work.

When I was five years old, my mom sewed a life-size doll that had a permanent smile on his face--Gary. Being sandwiched between three brothers and no sisters, I felt mercilessly teased and unloved by them. Mom was wise enough to know that I longed for someone who would always smile at me, and always be there when I needed him. Gary was an important step for me toward accepting God's unconditional love and acceptance of me. This is the kind of love every child deserves to know and feel about themselves; but too many do not. I have always wanted to be part of the magic that releases true love inside the soul of another.

Like most children, I loved music from the beginning. In third grade I wrote my first song with note names above each lyric. The song was about playing softball at recess with the boys. In sixth grade I learned to strum the guitar with a few chords, and wrote music with chord symbols, however my subject material didn't improve much. In Junior High, I learned to play the piano in choir. Without other options, my choir teacher plodded through with a very poor accompanist--me; but that paid off and I did better with high school choirs. At Brigham Young University I opened my freshman year with mostly music classes. I was hungry to understand the underpinnings of music. I gorged on music theory and ear training, struggling to catch up to classmates who had studied most of their lives. I never really did catch up and was told to pursue a different major; that neither my vocal nor piano skills were strong enough to endure the curriculum. Deflated, I changed directions and pursued electronic music by quitting school to work for a new start up company in Palo Alto which was inventing the MIDI standard; Opcode Systems. Fired up by the possibilities of technology and my still-alive, smoldering, silent dreams of music, I entered a private music school in Los Angeles to learn about songwriting and singing. Two years later, having emerged from the completed music program and a year under my belt with a small, but promising, software company (Microsoft), I returned to BYU to finish my Bachelor's degree in communications.

Still, I convinced myself that the music business was too difficult to break into. Always uncertain of my own marketability as an artist, I pursued corporate America instead. Being attracted to technology, I enjoyed being a part of a quickly changing world through new software and hardware. However, the passionate drive for success in business never brought me fulfillment. It was great fun, but an empty world for me. I left it all to focus a year and a half on a full time mission through my church. Returning to the "real world" of working for a living, I did what I thought I clearly knew how to do--technology. Project Management in Alaska, Ohio, Africa, and Oregon were definitely adventures to be remembered, but once again I felt empty. I knew I was meant to do other things; to spend my energy in other ways. I was building up to a change. I had been taking months off work between projects to create music. In 1997, I recorded my first al Vivre debout : Ou l'équilibre retrouvé
