About the Artist
Nicholas Palmer is a composer, keyboardist, and choral director living in Grand Rapids, Michigan with his wife Julie, children Elizabeth, Katie, and Michael, and various pets. His music ranges from neo-classical to new age to dramatic film soundtracks for independent filmmakers. Nicholas tends to write music that is contrapuntal and harmonically rich, though simplicity is found in many of his easy listening tracks. Despite the variety of musical styles he expresses himself with, you can always find subtlety on one kind or another in every track. His music has also been likened to pastels, which coincides with his love of watercolors, but he is not shy of the bold stroke of color, as can be heard in much of his film music.

Product Description
The titles of these tracks refer to places and things about the island of Mackinac in the Straits of Mackinac between the peninsulas of Michigan. This island has maintained a 19th century feel with a ban on automobiles and the preservation of dozens of historic buildings. The music is easy listening, instrumental only, and is inspired variously by the joy, mystery, and beauty of the island.
