About the Artist
Hugh Fraser is a man of many talents and an extraordinary musician. When not touring with his own jazz quintet or large ensemble or performing with some other jazz great or globe trotting as a music educator, he lives in an idyllic forest-meets-ocean setting in Victoria, British Columbia. He has won two Juno awards for recordings with the Hugh Fraser Quintet and has twice won Canadian Trombonist of the year.

Product Description
The Golden Mean Suite derives its name from the geometric equation found in nature known as the Golden Mean or Proportion. this numerical relation ship occurs in nature in a wide variety of entities, such as sunflowers and nautilus shells. It is said to "embody the dynamics of the rhythmic generation of the cosmos and, through its harmonic principal, represents universal love". Hugh took the Fibonacci representation of the Golden Mean and constructed the music using these proportions melodically, harmonically and rhythmically.
