"An album of enjoyable and varied pop/jazz electronic music....."
Product Description
A musical rendition of that magical moment when a universe is born. The music invites us to experience a realm where time as we know it does not exist, and only eternity is reality. Where the past, the present, and the future all happen at once. Music is the catalyst that reveals the illusion, and "Organized Chaos" is its witness.

"ORGANIZED CHAOS" Review.......2000-10-07
"Miracles Medley" begins the CD by shifting from its space music drifting introduction to a great uptempo Jan Hammer-esque rhythmic number filled with a wonderful refrain (from the opening space music intro), kinetic beats on a variety of synthesized percussion instruments, and snazzy synth guitar. It's a solid opening cut!
"Passion Path" continues some of the comparison to Hammer, circa his Beyond the Mind's Eye soundtrack, in David's continued use of bouncy rhythms, fuzz-tone electric guitar, and synth horns. This song is a bit darker in its feel, though it still moves at a good clip. His snare patch resembles Hammer's a lot. It has a high-tech "snap" to it that's hard to describe, but it's there for sure.
"The Big Bang Buzz" starts off with twinkling synths and bells, anchored by midtempo drum kit rhythms and cool scratches. By now, as I listened to the album a number of times, I became impressed with David's composing skill. It's a lot more difficult than most people think to compose an album of music, that while unified by an artist's "sound," does not come off sounding like the same song over and over and over. David is adept at infusing real differences between cuts, yet tied together with a texture of melodic sensibility.
The title track is a slow tempo, but still rhythmic song, with lower register piano leads and synth washes that I think would sound better with less use of the drums. This is, however, a very common mistake in first albums from electronic keyboard artists...I have heard enough of them to realize this. In David's favor is the fact that his drum patches are very good. Other artists, for some reason, try to get by with substandard sounding synth percussion. What my comment means is that sometimes an over reliance on percussion accompaniment-particularly drums-to elicit drama, can actually undercut the inherent drama of the melody itself.
That said, Organized Chaos is an enjoyable recording, one that I have every intention of listening to way past my "review" period. Songs like the cheery "And It Was Good" with its jauntiness, counterpointed by synth strings, and the moody next cut "Too Vast to Grasp" make for excellent music when I want something beyond ambient, but not overly commercialism Adult Contemporary.
In his press kit, David refers to his music as contemporary instrumental. That's a decent assessment, though better still is when he adds that it's "SOUL SCRATCHING, MIND SOOTHING, FEET MOVING." What a terrific way of phrasing it, especially when trying to describe songs like the future funky "Form Set Free to Dance." But, as with a lot of music, the description is less important than the end product. With Organized Chaos, the end result was I had a good time whenever I played the album. In the end, if that doesn't constitute a solid recommendation, I don't know what does.
