This is a Musically Accomplished, Balanced, Loving Album.......2000-08-12

Bridging Heaven and Earth is the most apt title I could think of for this work. This is an album with songs that are informed by a spirituality that neither confines itself to heavenly matters nor allows itself to get too earthbound, but, in every song, brings the two together in a caring way that makes clear both a compassion for the challenges we all face and the insight that can only come from having faced and dealt with those same challenges. There are no gurus here, only real people offering insightful, loving music. My two favorites, "All the Same Love" and "Enough God", show the range and depth of this music, but there is food for the mind, heart and soul in all the cuts. It is presented musically with a combination of sophistication and accessibility, as contemporary and relevant as anything out there. Lessia's performances have range, versatility, control, and emotional eloquence that amaze. The songwriting by Lessia and Allan is beautiful, eloquent, and solid. I'd say, "Get this CD and get ready to enjoy--on all kinds of levels."

CD touches the heart and soul.......2000-08-08

This is a great CD - It combines the best of a wide range of stylings, including pop, rock, country, jazz, folk and new age, put together with lyrics that touch heart and soul at the same time. It astoundingly moving in its expression of spiritual truths and human feelings, and brings these together into one soaring expression. Every song is a delight to the ears and the heart and reveals that love is all there is, love is the answer, love conquers all, and "It's all the same love." It is an amazing marriage of the highest spiritual teachings, great production, heart-opening instrumentation, and Lessia's amazing voice filled with sweet feeling and delicious velvet overtones. Don't miss this beautiful new CD.

Lessia "Bridging Heaven & Earth" is a wonderfully written, played, sung, and recorded CD of great pop/new age tunes. The album possesses a highly potent and transcendent benefit - it has a big Love vibration. And, when listened to, it can help to generate a feeling-sense experience of Love.

Now, this isn't really in the music or lyrics, per se, but may be associated with them, the performer, or the intention - some such. The proof is in the listening and feeling, as they say.

During this wild transformative time that we are currently passing through, music (and anything else) that has this "feeling-sense" Love vibration will greatly assist as we shift into Love. To put that another way, Love is coming to town, and we want to be on the Love Train! CDs like "Bridging Heaven & Earth" help greatly!

surprising convergences.......2000-07-01

I purchased this CD several weeks ago and have been listening to it constantly since. It combines passionate singing with subtle, and at times, forceful instrumentation. It presents through its lyrics a full range of emotions, always leading in an uplifting direction. I cannot recall a CD or album to compare with Lessia's evocative singing, compelling messages, and absolute dedication to the positive aspects of life. The opening song, " All the Same Love" immediately sets the tone - this anthem to the unity of the human spirit gets one's attention in such a way that it is impossible for me to imagine anyone but Lessia singing it. "Heaven and Earth" weaves through the joys of human potential and the tragedies of neglecting it --'Sunrise" is a paen to each one of us simply living our lives. The CD's major piece, "The Answer", builds from a gentle opening to a crescendo of raw vocal passion and instrumental force, only the epic " Stairway to Heaven" comes to mind in comparison. "Just a Man" seems to be Lessia's own effort to reach out to one very special person, she sings it with such crediblity. "Beyond the Bend" and "Miracle" are Lessia's gifts to anyone discouraged and down - it seems impossible to me to listen to these and not start smiling. "Teapot" and "Shine" are folk songs of very soft emotions, poetic roadmaps through the maze of human experiences. "Lottery" and "Spotlight" give Lessia an opportunity to demonstrate jazz and country performance styles that counterpoint the other the other songs effectively. Her incredible "Enough God" is sung with a fury reminsicent of the Dylan classic " Masters of War". And the CD closes with a joyous gospel -styled " Oh Happy Day", which may prove to be the classic piece of this whole set. Both Lessia and her writer/ collaborator, Allan, have accomplished an astonishing breakthrough with this CD -- the singing is superb, the arrangments impeccable. And the message that emerges from listening to this wonderful CD is both treasured and timeless -- that because we are the world, we can change the world, oh happy day. Anyone purchasing this CD is in for a major surprise, it is simply wonderful.
