About the Artist
Sid Hille was born 1961, in Freiburg, Germany. He studied piano, jazz improvisation and composition at the music academy in Utrecht, Netherlands, from 1987 to 1994. Sid currently lives in Finland where he teaches jazz and improvisation at the Ostrobothnian Conservatory in Kokkola. Apart from teaching, he has his own jazz band which is well-known in Europe through their touring and two releases in that area with the label A-Records in the Netherlands. For the past ten years, along with his many activities in jazz, he has been involved in numerous recordings of meditation and world music. These experiences and his life with Osho, whom he met in 1981, inspired him to do his first solo piano album 'Deep North - The Quiet Place'. His talent on the piano reaches the soul as he plays in celebration of love and gratitude. While listening to Sid's music it becomes apparent that he aspires to instill the spontaneous expression in sound with the timelessness of silence.
