The Mellow Original.......2006-06-17

David's first is more mellow than the rest of his albums that I've listened to and that just shows what a versatile writer/singer he is. I now have a David Ault CD for every mood. You can really hear "young" in his voice on this disc. I love the cut - Within Me Now. A beautiful take on having everything we need inside. David has one of these pure falsettos that he uses on occasion. It sounds so ethereal and magical. I think this would be a good CD to meditate to.

To say David sings with the voice of an angel isn't quite accurate, he sings with the voice of a host of angels - powerful, pure, and honest.

Ran across this CD again after several years and it is as meaningful to me now as it was on my first introduction to it. A personal all-time favorite!

During a very rough time with cancer, I must have listened to "The Healing Bridge" everyday for a year - miraculously never tiring of it and constantly discovering new layers of meaning in these heartfelt songs. It was like a compass, reminding me which way was my truth. As the title song says, "Who I am isn't second best."
