5 out of 5 stars LIQUID PEACE.......2007-02-22

"Tao of Peace" takes me back to another place in time, perfect tranquility in unity beyond the taking on of human form. This music is a wonderful gift that adds synergy to Rei-ki. Li Xiangting is a healer.

5 out of 5 stars Just wonderfully relaxing!.......2006-12-12

I own a number of Dean Evenson CDs, and this one is one of my favorites along with Tao of Healing. I have a hard time finding the right words to describe the music other than "perfectly woven". Everything just seems to fit right into place and is wonderfully balanced. I've always loved Oriental music, as long as it's done right - and this really is done so well. My favorite track is Slow Samba. The rhythm makes it both relaxing and uplifting at the same time. It has always brought me a deep sense of peace.

Call this corny... but I recently moved into a new home and it was very important to me to 'set the right energy' for my house. I rely heavily on music to do that, so the first songs I played in the new home were really important to me. I chose Slow Samba as the second song I played (the first was "Morning Has Broken" by Cat Stevens because it reminded me of my Grandma and the peace she brought my life.) I remember looking out over the hills and watching the sun set as Slow Samba played. Very peaceful and relaxing! I would definitely recommend this CD along with Tao of Healing.

5 out of 5 stars East meets West.......2005-10-26

I use this CD a lot for meditation or yoga practice. The music has a very peaceful feel to it and I like the use of traditional Chinese instruments. There is an East meets West feel here that is very appealing. My husband likes it for a background when he does tai chi.

Dean Evenson has many fine CDs on the market, but this is probably my favorite.

5 out of 5 stars A perfect companion to Tao of Healing.......2005-04-28

I also own Tao of Peace, another album by the same artists, and this one takes off where the other left off. The same beautiful flute and Guqin blend to create a soothing, and exotic mix. Perfect for massage, meditation, or yoga.

4 out of 5 stars Thirteenth Floor Elevators - 'Tao Of Peace' .......2007-05-22

Good twenty track compilation of the 13th Floor's three 'actual' albums. Cuts that I, for one will never grow tired of are "You're Gonna Miss Me", the under-rated psychedlic standard "Fire Engine" the total happening "She Lives(In A Time Of Her Own)", "Earthquake", "Levitation", and "Never Another". 'Tao Of Peace' would serve a purpose for all completists, any new fans that might be drawn in by the TFE or old fans that might've had their CD collection disappear by, say an disgrunted ex, a hurricane, etc. A should-have. If anything, for the cover alone.

5 out of 5 stars top of their genre.......2001-03-03

i cant agree with the other reviewer here.this one sounds great to me!!! its a great introduction to the elevators bringing togethor songs from the 'psychedelic sounds','easter everywhere' and 'bull of the woods'.the only thing that lets this band down is the laughable production but when you`ve got songs like 'slip inside this house' and 'youre gonna miss me' its excuseable. this ones for us 'heads' and anyone who`s interested in 60`s psychedelic garage music its an absolute must.one of the best this genre had to offer.also check out the seeds and the pretty things 'get the picture?'

1 out of 5 stars ack!.......2000-11-28

Never, ever, ever buy a 13th Floor Elevators compilation that leaves off "Dust"! Just buy "Easter Everywhere". It's better than the other albums that the songs on this CD come from anyway.
