Glory Bound is one of my favorite albums. Every song is awesome and each song has its very own style. Its loud, full of energy and if you aren't a Revolution Mother fan yet, you will be after you here this album! This is definetly an album that everyone should own!

This Summer I had the experience of a lifetime hearing THE MORMON TABERNACLE CHOIR live in concert. Nothing had prepared me for that performance ... that absolutely gorgeous, sensational wall of sound that shook one's body to its very core. When I purchased this recording I expected it to be just faintly reminiscent of the in-person experience, but it was/is so much more. Today's recording techniques replicate the choir's magnficent sound beautifully. And what a recording! The best of their sacred repetoire, a 21st century version of "Battle Hymn of the Republic" and several wonderful 'popular' folk and broadway pieces as well. It is a true joy to listen to over and over again. My highest recommendation!

I'm surprised that no one has reviewed this CD yet. Released in conjuction with the Nationally-released PBS documentary "America's Choir" - this album is a perfect starting place for people who wish to have a sampler of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir. Serving as both a latter-day "greatest hits" and a stand alone album, this CD gathers six tracks from the Choir's recently released albums "Consider The Lilies," "Spirit Of America" and "Peace Like A River" and adds TEN brand new tracks recorded specially for this project, creating a perfect sampler of both the Choir's magnificent history and it's current sound. It highlights the strengths of the Choir's repetoire, from well-known hymns ("Come Thou Fount Of Every Blessing") to patriotic standards ("Battle Hymn Of The Republic") to folk songs ("Shenandoah," "Bound For The Promised Land") and even some surprises, like the traditional Welsh anthem "O Home Beloved" and the "Fugue In C Major (Jig)" for organ and orchestra. A wonderful, wonderful CD, with startling changes in mood and tempo, but with the unifying artistry of the Tabernacle Choir and Orchestra at Temple Sqare.

This is an excellent CD. The music, both voices and orchestra, is superb. The content of the lyrics is inspiring. It reminds me of so many reasons I'm proud to be American.

Surprised that no one has reviewed this yet. Amazon.com doesn't give much info on this release, so I thought I'd rectify that. This is the second brand-new release on the "Mormon Tabernacle Choir" label, following their April 2003 release of "Consider the Lilies." Again, several of the arrangements are by Mack Wilberg, with direction by Craig Jessop and accompianment by the Orchestra at Temple Square. The track list is as follows:

The sound on this release is, if anything, even cleaner than the previous release, with the Choir and orchestra very evenly balanced. The programming includes a mix of both traditional and brand new songs, a couple of which (Stephen Paulus's "Hymn For America," and Charles Osgood's "The Pledge of Allegiance") were commissioned especially for this recording. Additional note: several of these songs were included on the Choir's 2003 Northeastern States tour, which was a huge success. I highly recommend this recording!

            This is the first steve haun's cd that I listen to.I don't give 5 stars out but I had to here.At first,I didn't know anything about steve haun and was surprised at how great his music is.It made me into a lifelong fan.His music is uplifting that gives anyone a postive attitude gonging into the day.
            If you are the fans of steve haun,you'll nerver be disappionted.This I promise you.

            Glory Bound contains Haun's work for the Nagano Winter Olympics, as well as many other outstanding tracks. Like most of Haun's other works, the more you listen, the more you will be rewarded! I've had this CD since it came out, and the more I listen the more tracks I add to my 'obsession listening' list! An excellent selection for any Haun fan, and a good starting point CD for those who would like to sample this vastly talented musician's work. I recommend this one to all fans of new age/jazz fusion.
