Nature meets Symphony.......2006-08-24

This is one of the best couplings of nature sounds & man-made music I've ever heard. Neither overpowers the other. Very soothing and able to "take you there" when you need to be "away from here."

I bought this CD in 1991 and have loved it and played it often over the years, so often in fact it finally scratched and I now have to replace my copy.

Gread meditation/relaxation CD!.......2003-02-26

I love most of Dan Gibson's works but I enjoy this one as background noise for my baby girl as she goes to sleep. The best thing is the the music is played on traditional instruments and not some cheesy electric synthesizer. That makes a huge difference. The last track is nothing but tranquil ocean waves which I loop for myself when I need help going to sleep. Crystal clear sounds and fantastic music. One of Dan Gibson's best.

This is great for relaxation and reflection. Nearly anyone will recognize and be familiar with the music - that makes this a special presentation. The only one that is better is the Strauss version which is virtually mouth watering it's so good.

Solitudes The Classics 1.......2000-03-07

I love this recording. It combines sounds of nature (forest and meadow sounds, stream, rain and ocean background) and some of the most beautiful music ever written. I find it helpful to use it when stress and conflict interfere with sleep. After listening to this, my mood is far more relaxed and am ready to drift off. It is a masterful and beautiful CD.

All of the "Solitudes" CDs series are excellent for relaxation. The best one I have found in addition to this one is the Strauss Walzes.

I found that this CD was just what I needed to relax in the afternoon. I often put it on to help me sleep, not because it bores me, but because it calms. This CD has wonderful sounds of nature. I especially liked that this CD had many songs that I have heard of. This is great!!!!!!

Classic taken to the Next Level.......2005-01-05

I bought this CD recently and began wondering how classical music might sound combined with nature sounds. As I listened, I wasn't even close to what I predicted. Each song was carefully selected and accompanied by the right sounds creating a more pleasing mood in addition to a great concentrating atmosphere. What also makes this CD intriguing is the varieties of famous composer such as Mozart, Beethoven, Schubert, Bach, and Delibes. With the sounds of nature in each track, this CD will induce relaxation and a calm, peacful atmosphere.

Absolutely Amazing!!.......2005-09-21

This is one of the my favorite Christmas CDs. The music is so soothing and non-boring, and another one of those literally music to the ears. It never tires after repeared listenings. If you enjoy this CD, you might want to look at Medwyn Goodall's Christmas Tapestry. These albums are absolutely charming, amazing!

Our Family Favorite for eight years.......2002-12-07

This Christmas album has been played every Christmas multiple times so it's time to switch from cassette to CD. It is one album that the kids particularly love and ask for, and if it is misplaced from last year's Christmas, that is not good and it must be found. They're now ages 17 through 22 and it's still a favorite with all of us. It's of course peaceful, as the label implies, but lively enough with instrumentation varying from piano, orchestra, bells, woodwinds, artfully interwoven with choir, birds, surf, a crackling fire etc in the background. The classics are reinterpreted, nothing heavy, but enjoyable enough for a real classical devotee such as myself. For peace, perhaps in more ways than one, try it!
