Album Description
"...In an agitated stream, it is difficult to see a reflection. In a calm lake, that reflection is clear...."
Liquid Mind VII: Reflection, the seventh in Liquid Mind 's unique ultra-slow relaxation albums, ebbs and flows with a peaceful and introspective elegance. Science has proven that our minds and bodies harmonize with the tempo of our surroundings, and that slow music may cause a general relaxation of muscle tension. This beautiful album is "musical healthcare" at its best: ideal for sleeping, meditation, anxiety and anger management, as a background to Reiki, Yoga, massage, and to enhance all healing activities. Parents and teachers find it useful to quiet hyperactive kids, veterinarians use the music to help animals recovering from surgery, mothers give birth to it, students study to it, artists paint and writers write to the musical backdrop of Liquid Mind. This subtle music has a way of opening our hearts and minds to our true selves.

Meditative Masterpiece!.......2007-06-09
Looking for great meditation music? Listen to Liquid Mind's assortment of musical meditation arrangements! I purchased Liquid Mind III years ago it's music became almost sacred to myself and other family members and friends. So, I purchased the entire series! Need I say more?!!!!
The music has a great "trademark" sound but each CD has it's own uniqueness. I found it was great anytime you need "background" music. I loved each and every CD by Liquid Mind and will treasure the music always. Thanks to Chuck Wild and all involved in the production of Liquid Mind!
ok massage music.......2007-03-31
It's a little slow and boring for my taste, but it provides for constant airy sound. Typical spa music.
JUST MELT.......2007-02-06
When the day is through and nothing is left but the thoughts of the day that you wish would go away put on this music. Close your eyes, your mind, and melt away on the soft liquid sounds of this calming energy. IT is so soothing I can forget my noise filled mind and find a cloud to stretch out onto and just be......nothing
Exactly what I was looking for.......2007-01-17
I always tried to relax by listening to classical music. Some classical is relaxing, but it can change tempo and volume often which I find distracting. This is much more calming then anything I've ever found. We have two of these cd's -- Reflection and Unity. I use it in the kitchen, or while I'm reading at bedtime. My 10-year-old listens to one at bedtime to help him calm down. I really love these cd's.
A perfect CD for Massage.......2006-04-14
As a massage therapist, it is really tough to find appropriate music for a session. This CD hits the mark. No singing, chanting, or other distracting bird calls. Just pure melodious tunes that flow from one song to the other. My clients love this CD and you will too.

Customer Reviews:
Liquid mind is what you are looking for.......2007-05-25
Liquid mind albums are just what you are looking for if you need a cd for sleep, meditation, or napping. This album is difficult to stay awake to. Synth sounds glide in and out like clouds; you can't focus on one too long as it will pass by and you will find another sound-cloud to float on. No rhythm, no melody, no beat; there is enough change to keep you from being able to predict what is going to happen next but not so much that you stay alert. Very good for this purpose.
ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ.......2007-03-10
This is one incredible compact disc. It is so good, I can't wait to get home, hop in bed and throw the headphones on. The synthesizers are soooo soothing, they put me in a state of cosmic euphoria. I feel the stress of the day, just being pulled out of my body, and a soothing clam that follows. It is one of 3 that I have purchased which provide the same sense of tranquility that I require at the end of the day. If your daily life is filled with stress, (and who's isn't). This CD is highly recommended.....
Numb Resemblance.......2006-11-30
Balance is a mirror of Chuck Wild's first project (Ambience Minimus) 3 years earlier. Unfortunately there is no forward progress in the Liquid Mind series. There is more warmth than it's predacesor "Slow World", but that ethereal "Ambience Minimus" tone is lacking. Here the tone tends to be outlaid rather than uprisen. Yes it dose maintain that flowing monochromatic state and it's planes dissolve well with some interesting soundshifting. But that is not enough to make this project appealing.
Liquid Mind III: Balance.......2006-08-20
I use this product for massage background music. All Liquid mind CD work well. After purchasing the entire series, I realized you really only need 1 or 2 of this style.
A superb work.......2005-05-14
In my opinion, this is Liquid Mind's best work. If you haven't listened to this type of music before it is quite different. There is no beat, no melody, but drifting synthesizers that rise and dance on a theme of inspiration and grace. If you're looking for Yanni type New Age music you won't like this. If you're looking for something that plays well in the background as you do your work or meditate, this just might be the cd for you. One of my favorites.
I gave it to my father who leads a meditation healing group at his church. They play this cd during their session and people really find it promotes an atmosphere of quiet positivity.

Subtitled "A Musical Companion to the Art of Brian Froud," Faeries comprises a mixed bag of music--techno, trance, cinematic soundscapes, New Age--befitting the mythical objects of Froud's paintings and drawings: at times impish, lovely, annoying, majestic, curious, and beguiling. Overall, it's an interesting if not wholly satisfying hodgepodge of pop-techno vocal tracks (all using female voices) and instrumental works that have no actual link to the notion of faeries (or, for that matter, to one another). After four female-rooted vocal selections (the most notable being the inventive, pulsating "Dreaming" from producer-DJ BT), we arrive at the disc's showcase track, "Miserere," a radiant choral mini-epic borrowed from Paul Schwartz's State of Grace disc.
Also of interest is the stroll along a gleaming, heavenly pathway (augmented by a percussive, Mardi Gras-like atmosphere) from James Hood and Grant Showbiz (a.k.a. Moodswings). The disc's two concluding numbers are the only ones with ties to Windham Hill's traditional sound: the anticipation-edged title track from Aerial Boundaries by the late, great Michael Hedges and the slightly wistful "Hugh" by Nightnoise, which provides the album's lone hint of Gaelic influence. The package includes a 16-page CD booklet, which contains some Froud artwork. The enhanced CD adds an interview and more artwork, some of it not seen before. --Terry Wood
Customer Reviews:
A great gift from my son I love it........2005-06-16
I really like this cd it is different and that!s what I like about it. There are all different types of faeries so there needs to be different types of music to go along with them . I think that!s what Brian Froud wanted when he picked these songs to go along with his book. This cd puts me in a different frame of mind when I listen to it. I have all of Gary Stadlers cds also celtic faery music I enjoy all of them.
Different But Good.......2003-03-05
This is definitely not a CD for relaxation, but it is good music, mostly techno/pop stuff. If you're looking for relaxing instrumental music instead, I'd recommend David Arkenstone or Yanni.
Faeries, The art of Brian Froud.......2003-02-19
I love this CD!! I listen to it at work, using my head phones, and I'm in another world. Of course I also listen to it in my car as well. Two songs on this CD really are absolutely enchanting, haunting and just beautifull. The first one is "Miserere" and the second one is "Nevermore", which is very pretty to listen to. I also like the variety of music on this CD. It's not the same sound of song after song. Different melodies, beats and so on. I perfer this CD than the Woodland CD. Though Woodland is not bad, but it seems to repititious in it's songs throughout the CD. But the songs do sound nice.
Beautiful, But...........2003-02-12
I have always thought of fairies as celtic entities, and light airy music as their forte. This CD was a little too dark and mysterious for my taste. I found it impossible to meditate to. I found it to be very TODAY type music with a tilt toward the dark side. The art work is lovely. I love everything that Brian Froud as done artisticly, but this music was too edgey for me.
Return me to the realm of Faerie..........2002-11-05
Faeries: A Musical Companion to the Art of Brian Froud
Review by Kerrie Colantonio (C) October 2002 All Rights Reserved
Rippling sounds, waves, breaking through the pool that gathers at the base of the spring, arms reaching out to draw me in, to trade places, worlds. Faerie walks the world of Man, human girl wanders lost in wanderlust, head swimming in glitter and glam.
This past Spring I was beckoned into the Faerie glen by the poetry and lilting notes of Woodland at the Faerieworlds Festival. Early this Autumn, I found myself again drawn into the realm by FAERIES: A MUSICAL COMPANION TO THE ART OF BRIAN FROUD, falling in step with leaf-sailing pookhas and faeries in legwarmers and scarves!
From ultraviolet underground to light and aerie, the songs and melodies selected for this collection are well mixed. The seductive sounds of "Sweet Allure" by Ballingomingo and "Dreaming" by BT will pull you down into the underground dance scene- and right on through to the realm of Faerie. Soft and ethereal, the voices of Aylmer and Cahill singing "Nevermore" will sweetly haunt you as you go about your day, while the joyous notes of "Alegria," from Cirque du Soleil's show of the same title, will raise the spirit and send it on its merry way to paint the world with rainbow colors.
Upon starting the enhanced portion of the CD, faeries and piskies dance in and out of view, a smooth blend of mythical art and digital mastery. Enhanced features include a Gallery, text from an Interview with Brian Froud, a Film Clip from "The Fairy Faith," an Animation, and an Excerpt from the new Lady Cottington's Fairy Album.
Images in the Gallery feature friends old and new, some never been seen before (as is the way from time to time with fairy folk) - particularly haunting is the image, "The Ragged Wood," a masked woman, emblazoned with a red rose.
Jugglers and fans of GOOD FAERIES/BAD FAERIES and THE FAERIES' ORACLE will clap their hands with joy to see the young balancer, Adroito, with his magical balls in motion in the Animation. Look carefully- faeries like to pop in and out of our lives and the screen in the blink of an eye!
Photos and folly, faith and fancy, following and falling- here they all start with the same thing- Froud. I think Brian said it best in the Interview: "Music has a wonderful ability to create space; it discretely lifts you out of the current moment and transports you into another world. The type of music is not important; what is important is that you surrender to it and let it take you away?" I surrender, I surrender?
Night dances back to the edge, sends herself to where I stand, and I stand on the edge, where I once stood, so long ago, so recently. I do not return to where I once lived, for I did not live there, did not breathe there, I merely was. Following the path I thought I knew, past the cottage where I once grew, towards the horizon, so deep and blue, to find and begin a life made new, a Life True.

Soothing Sounds for the Stressed-Out.......2004-06-13
On the back of this CD it states this music is by "pioneer sound healers". I'm aware of the therapeutic effects that music can possess but I've never heard of "sound healers" before. I won't argue, I'll take their word for it. One thing I do know - this is incredibly beautiful and effective music for meditating, relaxing and falling asleep.
Some numbers contain the serene bliss of nature sounds right up front combined with soothing melodies while others keep the ocean, wind and whatever else softly layered in the background. A few more numbers are accompanied by whispery female vocals. All the tracks flow together nicely without any abrupt changes in mood.
On a few occasions I've listened to this CD while working on the computer - right now is a good example - and have noticed less tension in my neck and shoulders and my breathing slower and deeper. Anything that succeeds at the demanding task of coaxing my twitchy little brain into an even partial state of tranquility truly deserves my highest recommendation.
Musical Healing is Profoundly Powerful.......2002-11-05
As an energetic healer for over 15 years I am quite aware of the profound influence that subtle energies can have in terms of providing general healing effects. This release from Sequoia Records contains an extraordinary compilation of the most soothing and meditative tracks from the very best of their label artists, perfectly sequenced into a beautifully fluid and peaceful journey that uplifts and nourishes the soul. When I put this on for my client's sessions the music really assists in melting their tensions away and creates a wonderful sound environment within which to do my healing work. I especially like the two new tracks from the Gordon brothers, Healing Passage and Healing Ocean and was delighted to find Sophia's Sweet Surrender contained on the release. The CD is rounded out well with fantastic tracks from Gary Stadler (one of my favorite Sequoia artists), Zingaia and Solaria. All in all Musical Healing is an incredibly harmonious, gorgeously balanced and profoundly powerful album. Take two tracks and forget about needing to call your doctor.
Musical Healing is a Journey to the Healing Heart.......2002-01-08
This compilation album from the folks at Sequoia Records comes with several unexpected gifts, chief among them that the exquisitely sensuous singer Sophia has joined the Sequoia family. Her "Sweet Surrender" remains a particular favorite, and I'm delighted that it appears on Musical Healing. Other gifts include three previously unreleased tracks "Twin Souls" by Solaria, and "Healing Passage" and Healing Ocean" by David and Steve Gordon.
Many of the tracks on Musical Healing include lushly textured nature sounds with bird songs, waves, and running water weaving in and out. Gary Stadler, Stephannie, Zingaia and Deborah Martin all have tracks on the album, making Musical Healing a great introduction to the softer side of Sequoia Records. Flute, harp, piano, guitar and angelic vocals join the nature sounds, creating a stress-free atmosphere conducive to massage, meditation, yoga, Reiki, and other healing modalities. Profoundly relaxing and spiritually uplifting, Musical Healing is a journey to the healing heart.

Album Description
Calm as the Night is a solo harp CD for deep relaxation and sleep. Each of the five 10-minute songs starts slow and continually gets slower and s-l-o-w-e-r. This is the musical principle of entrainment: our bodies synchronize with the music's rhythm and gently move through four stages:
1. Pain Distraction/Focus on the Music
2. Reflection
3. Meditation
4. Sleep

Precursor of "Muzak".......2006-03-11
Erik Satie cultivated his fame as an obscure pianist within the smokey cabernet-cafes high on the hill of Montmartre - a trendy, artist haunt in the shadow of Sacre Coere cathdrel overlooking 19th-century Paris. His novel music, isolated lifestyle and unusual fashion (always a dark velvet suit and derby) were eccentric yet endeared him to - not only to the poets, writers and artists of Montmartre - but to the Parisian musical elite. Another oddity of Satie was his contentment - and sometimes insistance - that his music be relegated to the background as to not interfere with patron's festivities. Where Beethoven or Wagner would have cringed to have their compositions played as "musical wallpaper" (or featured on a "Relaxation" recording like this), Erik Satie would likely have been pleased. In this respect, his music was perhaps the precursor of modern "Muzak" heard by many an elevator user.
Over three-forths of Satie's compositions are for solo piano. Often he gave these pieces strange titles and programmic references - such as his most famous work, Gymnopedies, which is related to some ancient festival honoring Apollo. In fact, this gentle, melodic piece so charmed Debussy that he composed an orchestral version of it, emphasising its dreamy qualities. However, on this CD, this famous piece is heard four times in different variations, which presents a great risk of trivialization and weariness. That is one downfall of this collection.
Satie's music indeed does fit well with the "Relaxation" theme with its simple, slower-paced, child-like innocent melodies bathed in rich, yet austere harmonies. In this respect Satie's music is often downgraded by music critics as "lightweight compositions from a French eccentric." They have their point. But, the weary looking for some "nice music" will often find Satie's works a balm - free of pretention, complication and attitude. Yet, it was this simplicity and minimalistic approach that earned Satie the title, "The Precursor" as his textures and forms foreshadowed the minimalist music of John Cage and the Surrealism/Dada movements in art.
Like any, Satie's music is not for everyone. At times the repeated-note simplicity can be downright boring; other pieces can remind one of a player piano at the cabernet. Yet, many pieces have great charm and appeal once you get past their simplicity. So, overall, this CD is a decent sampling of Satie's music for piano - solo or with one or two other instruments - recorded in good sound quality. Also, there are few if any loud outbursts for those wanting to nod off in their relaxation. But, the overplayed Gymnopedies pieces are unfortunate - typical when the public gets hold of a popular piece and plays it to death.

Cellist David Darling, well known for his poetry/cello CD, The Tao of Cello, enlists a group of fine musicians here for an introspective album whose 18-minute compositions slowly unfold in circular rhythms and pensive grooves. It's an utterly successful ensemble, with John Marshall on drums and percussion and Darius Kauffman on flutes and whistles. Pieces where acoustic instruments such as guitar and flute are the centerpiece work better here. "Dream Pearls of Kathak" is a chamber work whose contemplative expressionism unwinds like a river, with sparse instrumentation steadily giving way to more complexity and sound. The low booming drum of "Irish Miles" is enough to center any stressed soul, and along with Darling's signature moody cello leads the ensemble in a grounding, beautiful melody. This is the sort of CD that's just melancholy enough for rainy days and soothing enough for yoga or massage. In other words, perfectly Balanced. --Karen K. Hugg

This one is beautiful. I love the drum in this, perfect for massage.
Review of David Darling's Balance CD.......2006-07-01
The mix of melody and rhythm make this CD very relaxing, soothing and hypnotic. Couldn't ask for a better mix of music for massage therapy.
Popular Music.......2006-02-25
Excellent-I'm currently using it in my treatment room for therapeutic massage and my clients love it. I like working to it- it is soothing and melodic- I would highly recommend this for relaxation and/or background music. I also love the use of mostly real and not synthesized music.
Just beautiful and excellent.......2005-04-16
This CD has only 4 songs but each about 18 minutes EACH! Soft, relaxing, soothing, and simply blissful. I particularly like track #3 oh I cannot explain...almost hypnotic. You will truly enjoy this CD. A great way to just relax before or after a nice hot bath, during a massage, or simply reading a book. I recommend this CD for couples enjoying a wonderful intimate moment. I haven't gotten tired of it yet.
Not at all what I expected.......2004-07-20
After all the glowing reviews, I was very dissapointed with this CD which I intended to use for massage therapy. The music is very discordant (is that the right word?) and does not leave me feeling relaxed, just bored and irritated. Maybe this music is just the kind that doesn't resonate well with my brain waves, but I found it extremely poor.

Customer Reviews:
A musical journey much BEYOND the title of this CD.......2006-10-15
While listening to the samples of this CD, I realized it had a function much beyond comforting music for one in "childbirth and beyond." It will be a tragedy if people pass on reviewing this collection because of the title. The music is not full of heartbeats or wombsounds. It is pure music at its best. It will satisfy the mother in the delivery room but anyone present with her will be captivated by the variety of music. I had been looking for a song as background to play while showing photos of Africa--"African Lullaby" captured my ear for the project, but my heart forever. And the most beautiful song I have ever "experienced" is on disk 1--"Silent Journey." This song was an amazing discovery. Each time a song is replayed, it seems as though I am hearing it for the first time because each song is refreshing and uplifting. I almost want to stop the CD after a song and relax and ponder on the song to savor the blending of instruments, melody, beat, as one would enjoy the bouquet of a fine wine. Investment in this collection for yourself or a gift for someone else will be rewarding. This CD collection of music is truly CANDY FOR THE EAR!
Sounds of Life: A Musical Journey for Childbirth and Beyond.......2005-11-29
I had been looking for music I could take in to the labor room with me to help me relax during the birth of my daughter, Sounds of Life was the perfect CD - it offers a ton of wonderful relaxing music that helped me take my mind off of my contractions and kept me calm. I would recommend this CD to all women who are thinking about taking music into the labor room! I am still enjoying the 3 disc set when I nurse, and I love the keepsake journal that is included with the package.

Soothing.......2001-04-01
I started to listen to this at a listening station in a store when one of the clerks came over and said the store was closing. So I bought this on hearing only a few bars of the first tune. Once I got it home I realized there's only 4 tunes on this CD. The package doesn't have any listings on th outside--you have to open it to see song listing. I wish there were some samples here--maybe later. each tune is a bout 15 minutes long, so there's more than an hour of music here. each is a little different from the other--there's a "Brazilian Sunset", and a "Journey to Dudek." Point being: they're not just aimless background music. It's very soothing and I understand people play this while doing the massage thing. I haven't been that lucky yet--but I'm working on it. Meanwhile I just close my eyes and let this CD do it's thing.
