Another terrible recording by Nature's Music.......2004-01-01

I bought this cd with "Ocean Waves" , another recording by the same artists. Both are awful and technically not up to par. As I have written elsewhere (see my review of "Ocean Waves") there are numerous short interruptions of the sound on this recording, which makes it absolutely useless.

Anyway, should you be lucky enough to receive a cd without that technical flaw, you will probably be disappointed by the sound of the rain itself.

Here are the two major problems I detected:
-there is no transition: as soon as the recording starts you hear the sound of rain pelting down at maximum intensity. The good rainsound cds like the one released by Echoes of Nature have you listen to the whole process, beginning with the sweet sound of the first droplets of water falling on the dusty leaves of the banyan tree amid the joyous (but faint) concert of birds.
-the sound is hard and monotonous: the raindrops on this cd are not falling on tree leaves or on the grass blades of the prairie, they are falling on the concrete pavement outside the recording studio. At least this is my educated guess. The sound is irritatingly hard and uniform. This rain doe not sound like a gift from heaven but like a slap in the face!

Stay away from this terrible cd and buy "Thunderstorm" by Echoes of Nature". You will not be disappointed.
