About the Artist
Susan Osborn is an internationally acclaimed singer and educator who performed and recorded with the Paul Winter Consort for 8 years and for the past 10 years has been recording, performing and teaching in Japan, including three recordings of traditional Japanese melodies in English and performing at the 1998 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games in Nagano, Japan. In 2000, her first recording of original songs in 15 years, ReUnion, was released by her company Golden Throat. This year she reunited with former Consort members Paul Halley and Nancy Rumbel to record Still Life, classical melodies with lyrics written by her and her husband David Densmore. She continues to teach a class called Silence and Song around the world, a class that explores the power of singing to generate silence and presence. In 1999, she and David opened The Living Room, a Salon for Music and Art on Orcas Island.

Album Description
Journey: Live in New York is filled with the signature Richard Smallwood melodies, harmonies, and orchestral arrangements that listeners have come to expect and adore. Smallwood's musical genius blurs the lines between live audience and taped recording, transporting the listener to the actual event, rather than leaving them sitting in a spectator's position. And, just as always, Vision, the rich and vibrant choir, backs Smallwood to bring his songs to life. Journey: Live in New York, boasts guest appearances by Chaka Khan, Kelly Price, The Hawkins Family and more! This double CD also includes special enhancements and live concert video.

Two words: "...Morning's Breaking!".......2007-07-31
Like everyone else who attended the 2005 live recording in NYC, I could not wait for this album to be released. It was a GREAT concert, and the best songs of the concert are my favorites on the albums:
1. "Morning Breaking" (should have been on Kelly's album!)
2,3. The Smallwood Singer classics "Holy" and "He Won't Leave You"
4. I'll Trust You
5. I'd Rather Have Jesus (another classic Smallwood instrumental piece, not recorded at the NYC concert)
Honestly, that's all I listen to. The Hawkins song is cool as well. I appreciate the 3 bonus tracks as well...great idea!
New Yorker and all, this is not one of my favorite Smallwood projects... He just outdid himself in Atlanta and Detroit! (Oh, yeah, and where are my Clark Sisters?! FYI, they were advertised to participate in this project...Whoa!! Maybe that would've been too much power on one album!!) But I would buy this just for Kelly and Vision to break down "Morning's Breaking!" Powerful song that gave me much timely encouragement. Thank you for your ministry!
Excellent Variety.......2007-07-20
Once again Richard Smallwood has released an awesome project. When I first listened to it, I said "It's o.k." But, the second listen sold me. The project has his signature style all over it, and true to Richard's nature, he showcases other talent as well. I love the raw, earthy voice of Chaka Khan, the melodic soprano voice of Janet Chandler-Eteme, and Kim Burrell's gospel-honed big voice. It is all about worship to the King of Kings, and Journey: Live in New York does just that.
Excellence Personified!.......2007-07-05
Richard Smallwood's latest project, Journey: Live in New York, is his best work to date! It is an expressed representation of musical excellence that ushers you right into the presence of God! This CD set is a must have for any serious lover of gospel music.
Awesome.......2007-07-05
Ilove Richard Smallwood I have been a fan since I was 15 years old and this CD project was amazing I went to the actual concert in New York abt 3 years ago and I was amazed then as I do now. I belong to the church where Richard Worships and I sing in the choir that he consults (when he is in town that is) But I really love his style of music as it takes u there and if you are not careful you will find yourself underneath a church bench in the spirit. Si get this porject if you have not as this wa is absolutely awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Not the typical Smallwood item.......2007-07-03
This is a 2-CD set. A lot of his past work is on the CD. There are several new songs that are nice but this is not his usual standard.

The best crystal bowl cd ever? Yeah right..........2007-02-17
That's what I said as I read the reviews here and clicked over to the author's website... so I reluctantly handed over my cash with little expectation, and well, I have to say... I agree!
Frankly, I was a little surprised, I love this kind of music and my last purchase of Stephen Halpern's Crystal Bowls was disappointing to say the least as it was filled with synthesizers and other cheesy New Age effects. This one is not and I wouldn't even lump it with a New Age tag (as the product description has). It' just truly beautiful music. The resonance is wonderful and the first chakra track is great for getting me, or my space back into alignment. Simply put it on in the background and clear your space. Wonderful! The other tracks on the CD have beautiful touches including shamanic instruments like the Buffalo drums, rattles, native flutes, rain sticks and other instruments. All appropriately added, expertly played and NO New Age cheese. What's interesting about it is that the CD recorded in one evening with no manipulations. I love reading books and listening to audio of people that have opened their heart - you can feel that in the work... in a similar way I think this is transmitted through music and it most definately is here.
I have since recommended and raved about this CD to all my friends. If you're a healer with a practice, you're going to want it for background music or just clearing your space. For everyone else, it's wonderful for relaxation and coming back into balance (put on your headphones for a real treat) or just some soothing music to play after a hard day or most definately for people who are not feeling well.
Other crystal bowl CDs I like include Benjamin Iobst Seven Metal Singing Bowls of Tibet and Crystal Voices by Deborah Van Dyke. Daniel Goleman's work is also fantastic - Chakra Dance, Chakra Chants and his Om CD (although all his work is good).
I highly recommend this beautiful CD. There are extra touches, with different instruments so if you're using it purely for meditation, that may distract you (as some other reviewers seem to have experienced). That is, I guess, a matter of personal preference - some people would be okay with the other instruments. It's the kind of CD where you that makes you go and buy everything the artist has ever produced. Of the hundreds of the healing type CDs I have, this is, and will remain, well and truly at the top of the heap. This might just be... the best crystal bowl CD ever!
Very good for meditation.......2007-01-11
I listened to this during my hospital stay on my iPod because I could not sleep. It helped me immensely.
Incredibly Healing and Soothing Sounds!.......2006-11-03
This CD, just like all Crystal Vibrations productions, is pure healing. I can always count on the first track (Chakra Alignment) to bring me back into balance and alignment. I also use this disc as a space clearing tool for my home... the high vibrations resonate throughout, leaving my space feeling warm and wonderful. A multi-purpose musical adventure... how can you resist?
Wow, Raising the Vibe!!.......2005-11-23
Pretty incredible music that makes everything I do while listening seem to happen effortlessly. It shifts and "tunes up" the energy in the room and in me! The Chakra alignment is like a warm up to the magic of all the other instruments that weave in and out of the singing bowls. So you can stay really focused and present or drift off into deeply meditative states. Listening to the soothing music on this CD is one of the best prescriptions you can give yourself! If you want to journey to the far reaches of the universe, treat your self to their CRYSTAL PORTAL CD and get Journey to Wholeness for taking care of everything else!!
Lighten Up, Chill Out and Recharge.......2005-10-17
This is my favorite of all the meditation and singing crystal bowl music I own and I have a huge collection. Initially, I used it for meditation in the morning before work and then again when I got home. It left me calm for the day and recharged at night. Then I thought to put it on while paying bills and doing stressful chores. The resonance of the crystal bowl tones had an immediate effect. I was able to focus and breathe with ease while I completed my tasks. The sound quality is superb and you get all the beautiful overtones that can only come on a live recording. And the effect is lasting. For a real vacation, listen to this CD with headphones.

A Stunning Document of early 80's Journey.......2007-06-15
Awesome sound quality, Awesome performance, Awesome setlist!
This CD also comes with a nice fold out card stock inner booklet with some very nice pictures. All of which I've never seen before (unpublished?).
As for some of the reviewers saying that Steve Perry is reliving the past by putting out the Houston Live 1981 & Greatest Hits DVDs, let me shed some light to this myth. Steve Perry was approached by John Kalodner (A&R Guru) to get involved with these projects and oversee production. There are also interviews where John Kalodner states having lunch with Steve Perry asking him to reconsider joining Journey.
In case you're wondering what kind of clout John Kalodner has, whenever you see his name in the credits of an album/CD, it just simply states:
John Kalodner : John Kalodner
His name is his title. Kind of like- God : God
Don't get me wrong, he's not God, but is held in very high regard in the music business amongst musicians and record executives alike. He put Aerosmith back together in the mid 80's.
John asked Steve Perry to produce and Steve Perry said yes.
NEWSFLASH!!!! Journey is without a lead singer once again. Their website has just announced that Jeff Scott Soto (filing in for the ailing Steve Augeri) is no longer in Journey.
I smell a Steve Perry/Journey reunion, don't you?
had to get cd.........2005-12-29
This cd is a replacement of the Journey-Greatest Live tape that I had found in a music store. I had played the tape so much that it became useless. This cd brings back the Memories of youth, fun, rock and roll. It has all the best songs on it. This is the cd that made my kids fans, I can not keep them away from mine.
Great collection of songs but.......2005-11-20
Captured is better. It has a better "live" feel than this one. I'm just not feeling it with this album. Despite reading most of these (and other) reviews first, I bought it anyway since I like their music. If you don't have Captured, buy that one first.
Great live album from a great band.......2005-01-23
Great melodies, super tight band, great vocals and all live with no overdubs. Most live albums are full of fixes and overdubs but this band was a band that sounded live the way they did on the record but with more live energy. Steve's voice soars. If you are a Journey fan this is a must have. Obviously they were much more than just an 80s pop rock band. They could really play and sing great. Refreshing in a time when so many acts are lip syncing, singing to tracks, or just singing poorly. This is an example of how a great band is supposed to sound live. They made sure they gave the audience their moneys worth. And so does this CD.
another underated super group.......2004-12-26
after listening and comparing this compendium album with others done by groups recognized as great power groups, i was shocked by how well they measure up to the likes of cream, zeplin and santana. sorry to admit that i didn,t even know who their lead player was. neal shoun's work on this album compares favorably with jimmy pages work on how the west was won and without overpowering steve perry's usual superb vocals. if you are only going to own 1 journey album this probably needs to be it. it also shows that, despite what some of us older rock fans believe, a few great groups did really exist in that decade.

Through the 1980s, Hot Rize's virtuosic brand of bluegrass combined eclectic progressivism with bedrock traditionalism, earning a following that extended well beyond the young quartet's home base of Boulder, Colorado. Though vocalist-mandolinist Tim O'Brien subsequently moved further beyond bluegrass convention as a solo artist, focusing more on his original material, the band's reunion concerts in the '90s remained popular affairs. This recording of a 1996 homecoming performance at the Boulder Theater finds the foursome in spirited form, with a generous selection of 20 cuts. From the spiritual call-and-response of "Keep Your Lamp Trimmed and Burning" and "Working on a Building" to Pete Wernick's banjo breakdown on "Empty Pocket Blues" to the Irish romp through "Colleen Malone," a signature tune for the group, the interplay has the feel of friends who plainly enjoy each other's musical company. The belated release also serves as a memorial to guitarist Charles Sawtelle, whose thoughtful, bluesy progressions give the music a unique dimension, and who died of leukemia in 1999. --Don McLeese
Customer Reviews:
Lightning........2007-01-11
Product was perfect and arrived three days after the order was placed. Enough said.
God Bless Charles Sawtelle.......2004-07-20
After their amicable breakup in 1990, Hot Rize staged various reuinion concerts over the next several years, including this marvelous 1996 effort secretly caught for prosperity by bassist Nick Forster. Hot Rize appealed to almost every facet of the bluegrass world by, as mandolinist/fiddler/lead singer Tim O'Brien put it, "Making the old sound new." Most of the group's non-original material (O'Brien is a prolific song writer, with Forster and banjoist Pete Wernick also key contributers) came from the classic bluegrass artists/old timey song book (represented here by Bill Monroe's "Blue Night", The Delmore's "Life's Too Short", and Hazel Dicken's "Won't You Come and Sing For Me"), but the band's trademark instrumental synchopation gave their music a fresh, modern sound. O'Brien and Wernick are wonderful players, but the true intrumental "voice" of the band was the late, great guitarist Charles Sawtelle (a/k/a "The Bluegrass Mystery"), whose unmatched tone and clever phrasing pervades and haunts this session.
Hot Rize was one of the hardest working and most popular bluegrass bands of the '80's - and the most remarkable aspect of this concert is how tight and fresh they sound despite their layoff. One senses the compatibility and friendship of the boys in the band throughout. This one is definitely worth a listen - it'll stay on your player for a long time.
Hot Rize at the Top of Their Game.......2002-06-03
While the always innovative Hot Rize continued to perform reunion shows throughout the Nineties, their last studio album was 1992's Take It Home. That's what makes this 1996 live recording of a couple of Boulder Theater shows such a treat. Hot Rize is performing before an enthusiastic home crowd and the band is hitting on all cylinders.
Although Red Knuckles doesn't make an appearance, the band performs songs from all five of their studio albums on this hour-long CD. What a joyful tribute to one of my favorite bluegrass bands. As bassist Nick Forster says in his liner notes, "This is what we sounded like on a good night." If you're new to Hot Rize, this is a great place to start. If you own their other albums, you'll want this one too. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
Great live album!.......2002-05-15
A nice posthumous concert album from one of the big bluegrass supergroups of the 1980s. This album features Hot Rize at their best, professionally plowing their way through a powerful repertoire of original tunes and well-chosen oldies. This set was recorded during a 1996 reunion gig, and band gets a little looser and a little more playful than on some of their studio albums, as all concerned, including the late guitarist Charles Sawtelle, play the good stuff, all sweet and fine. Recommended!
Fond musical memories of a fantastic entertaining band.......2002-04-14
Just listening to this new release of some great "old" material from Sugar Hill brings back many fond memories of a fantastic band that knew how to both pick and entertain. It is a Hot Rize album called "So Long of a Journey: Live at the Boulder Theater" and was recorded on March 6-7, 1996. Nick Forster hadn't told the other band members that he had asked some friends to record these shows. So the result is some totally uninhibited hot picking and singing from this band of almost brothers. Then, Charles Sawtelle and Nick started talking about how to mix the tapes. The tapes were lost for a number of years. Now, we are rewarded with some live Hot Rize during their 1996 reunion tour. If you weren't aware, Hot Rize won IBMA's "Entertainer of the Year" Award in 1990, and guitarist Charles Sawtelle died of cancer in 1999. This live album has 20 bluegrass cuts, making it an excellent value for its price. The band's alter-egos (Red Knuckles and the Trailblazers) don't make an appearance on it. "So Long of a Journey" gets my two thumbs up. The scuttlebutt is also that Hot Rize will be doing some reunion shows soon, although it is not clear yet who will be replacing Charles on guitar.

Having used her own modern travails to reorder both her personal priorities and music, Olivia Newton-John seems to have largely cast off the breathy sex-kitten image that haunted her career. But this live album (recorded at Atlantic City's Taj Mahal showroom in 1999) shows she's lost none of her commercial and artistic acumen in the bargain. Neatly interweaving songs from Gaia (the '94 album that chronicles her quasi-spiritual rebirth) and her Nashville outing, Back with a Heart, with a generous slate of hits, the singer deftly casts it all in an aura of uplifting hope with her brief comments between songs. As on-stage shtick, it's oddly not so different from the Rev. Al Green's latter-day tack--and often as effective. Songs like "Xanadu" and "Magic" slide surprisingly well into the mold, even if the numbers from Grease and Let's Get Physical remain obvious crowd pleasers. Newton-John's voice seems much stronger throughout than in her media icon years, backed by an eight-piece band that delivers it all flawlessly. --Jerry McCulley

Still going strong!.......2005-10-25
This CD captures 30 years of Olivia and is well worth the money! Seeing her in concert during her anniversary tour several years ago was the greatest, and this CD serves as a wonderful reminder of that memory.
Not A Good Decision.......2005-07-06
Using the term DTS to search for concert DVD's I foolishly bought this item thinking it was a combo CD/DVD(see Flaming Lips).Starting with the two first cuts I quickly realized that this was not one of my better purchases -"magic" was a major disappointmment as were most of the up-tempo songs. If you listen to the ELO or Boz Scaggs DVD's you will here songs arranged as they were originally recorded. Her material is not that musically intricate so one wonders why little attempt was made to do the same. The sound quality is iffy at best - there is an annoying sax on some songs which does not belong. Technically the overall mix is poor and not worth the purchase price.I played a Remastered Bob Dylan CD("OH Mercy") after listening to ONJ and found the sound significantly better. There are remastered recordings of her songs available- one CD will be released on July 12th- and perhaps that's the way to go if you want original recordings properly remastered.
AWESOME.......2003-04-02
ONJ has a beautiful angelic voice. Her version of Have You Never Been Mellow is my favorite. I just wish the song Physical was the newer samba version she's been singing at her concerts.
Smasheroo.......2002-09-08
Olivia has always been an exceptional in-person performer. She comes well-prepared, has everything down perfect and her shows rocket along with nice up moments and nice smooth rides between. This is one artist who not only doesn't need the studio to sound like herself but actually sounds better in person. She's as beautiful as her photos show her to be, and getting even more so with the years. That's the inside beauty shining outside, folks. This woman is beloved worldwide and this album is a wonderful opportunity to enjoy a panoramic look over her exceptional career so far.
a surprisingly poor recording of a great concert.......2002-09-07
Having been to ONJ's wonderful concert, I bought the DVD-Audio of "One woman's live journey" in the hope of reliving that experience, only to find that the sound quality left much to be desired. The instruments sound tinny and the voice is edgy, which is distracting to say the least. This doesn't do justice to Olivia's performance.
The sound quality is definitely within the bottom 10% of new recordings. Let's hope that the record company will rectify the problem by releasing a remastered version in the near future.

Album Description
Allow us to take a bit more space than we usually would for one recording, as it is a recording we not only feel will be critically acclaimed, but is also one of great importance in its origin and purpose...
The artist community out of Colorado Springs known as "Blue Renaissance Creative Group" is a non-profit organization which consists of the folk ensemble 100 Portraits, acoustic fusion band Calling Cedar, and several other independent artists, all holding a global vision for reaching the lost through music. They evolved organically apart from the music industry as an expression of the Body of Christ from this generation. They brought us the Enter The Worship Circle recording last year, something they threw together to document their worship time together. Astonishingly, that rough recording captured in a make-shift studio in an old house has sold over 70,000 copies.
Without much change, and paying little attention to the success of the previous recording, 100 Portraits, joined by other Blue Renaissance artists as well as Will Hunt of Apt.core, returns with more of their original and down to earth worship-oriented songs... this time with the same name, simply being distinguished by the sub-title Second Circle. Several of the folks from Blue Renaissance have often traveled to third world countries to share their talents in the outreach efforts of indigenous churches. In recent visits to India, they were inspired by the native instruments and songs found among the village churches, and in fact documented some of the sounds they encountered, mixing select portions of those samples into the new recording.
Driving Indian rhythms intertwine with fresh, intimate, uninhibited expressions of love and worship to create this ground-breaking album, using instruments such as tablas, dumbeks, an amazing sitar, and who knows what else. With all original songwriting, even a few seemingly improv lyrical inspirations captured during the live studio recording, Second Circle allows you to join the musicians in their realization of how deep, wide, and amazing the love of God is. This collection of passionate songs reflects a desire for simplicity and spontaneity in worship, with its use of basic instruments and genuine expression. Hand percussion and acoustic guitars, simple arrangements, and a new world of looping-rhythm sections blend throughout every track creating a beautiful tapestry. Blue Renaissance is designating a dollar from each sale to go to Christian orphanages and schools in India-- one US dollar is the equivalent of an entire day's wages in India.
Every once in a while something truly different comes forth from creative wombs by the grace of God, with power enough to change the way you think about music, worship, life... this is that something. We give it our strongest recommendation.

great for entering in to worship and His presence.......2007-05-26
This CD is really great and deep in worship for our Lord. It really helped to awaken and engage my heart in Jesus and His love. I really treasure the times I've been able to spend just listening to this cd in my room + worshiping Him. Of all of my favorite worship albums, this is one of the best I've yet heard. Some other great ones like this are "The World Can Wait" by the Merchant Band, Misty Edward's cd's, "I Can't Wait" by Various Artists (might only be available at ihop.org), the WOW greatest Worship songs, and "Worship" by Micheal W. Smith.
crying worship.......2004-02-25
this album has been such a blessing to me! the songs on this cd are so prayerful, thankful, meditative and heartfelt! for anyone in need of pure worship in tears to God, this is it.
Not one to pass up........2003-11-29
When I first purchased this cd off of Amazon, I was already familiar with the first circle. I had actually bought this cd for a friend of mine for her birthday. a little later, I got a chance to listen to the same songs and borrow the cd in depth. (Ok, I admit it, she burned it for me.)
Were my expectations high? Yep. Were my expectations met?
Oh yeah.
It's really hard to write a review on a worship cd, because a worship cd is either kinda dull, and you like the sound of the songs, but you dont really get anything out of it, or it blows you away. And I have to say, that the songs on this cd have blown me away, and brought me to a deeper level of worship. (If any of you gifted people who helped produce this cd are reading this, then thank you for moving in the spirit.) But, I wanted to write a short review for those of you who may be interested in this but are not sure.
The cd starts off in much of the same style as the first circle with the song I Will Bow. the first 6 tracks on this cd are incredibly powerful words that are spoken directly to God. Especially, in my opinion, Near to you, and Faithful. Rush River Rush, and Praise Awaits You, (Tracks 7 and 8) are incredible worship songs. Lost Art of Living was a bit of a culture shock to me at first. It's style is actually more eastern. But its really a cool song/poem. The rest of the songs are awesome, and I had to dance to All I Need, and I Cannot Hide My Love.
The style of the music is hard to describe for me. If you just wont listen to music without heavy guitar or drums, then you wouldnt enjoy this cd for its musical value, although there are some sweet guitar chords and combinations in here. Most of the stuff is soft, and even the faster songs are very rythmic. but if your just looking for an awesome cd to worship God to, then I would recommend this to you as a valuable treasure, and an excellent addition or start to your worship collection.

Album Description
In the spring of 1986, Fats Domino was one of the first inductees into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame and Rolling Stone journalist Kurt Loder noted, 'Domino was an unabashed apostle of fun and good feelings . . . His lusciously slurred delivery, set atop a classic Crescent City musical base thick with saxophones and clumps of block-chord piano, created an atmosphere of foot-tapping amiability. Fats seldom deviated from this patented style but the style itself was endlessly appealing.' It was as Loder wrote, 'the distinct sound of a city'. And that city was New Orleans. Sentimental Journey features 16 hits, recorded live at The University of New Orleans in 1987!

Live and Kickin' Kicks!.......2006-03-16
I love this CD! It's just plain old fun for adults and children alike. I had never heard of David Holt before I listened to this CD and I'm now a confirmed fan. For me, coming from a rural background, the folk instruments (spoons, bones and washboard), banjo and harmonica are like coming home, comfort food and your favorite dog. This is "down home" music, stories, and humor all woven together is a brilliant live performance. It just doesn't get any better--unless Mr. Holt were to appear in person! Very highly recommended!

Great Live Document Of Journey's Biggest-Selling Tour.......2007-07-07
LIVE IN HOUSTON 1981: THE ESCAPE TOUR is a wonderful document of a single concert on Journey's tour in support of their 1981 album ESCAPE, and it's great to have the concert available on CD, as the album and its ensuing tour were Journey's best sellers both in terms of album sales and concert tickets. The previously-recorded live album, CAPTURED, featured Gregg Rolie, whereas this one features Jonathan Cain on keyboards. It has been said that the band's manager, Herbie Herbert, didn't really like Cain, but that's irrelevant, as Cain brought more of a pop feel to the band. This is a CD that anyone who's even remotely interested in Journey should own.
Fantastic! Awesome! Out Of This World.......2007-01-04
Journey has always been my very favorite of all the American rock bands. I've traced them right from the beginning because of being a Santana fan. Neil Shon and Greg Rollie started something that was very addictive. When Steve Perry joined the band, that was it. No singer can or could ever replace Steve Perry. Without SP, Journey isn't Journey. This live set just blew me away and the DVD that came with it is out of this world. It's too bad that Journey seems to be at the end of their journey. I highly recommend this set to any Journey fan even if you already have a live Journey CD, this is by far the best of all of them. Don't do what I did though. Order the set that has both the CD and DVD. It is well worth the money.
Good Show.......2006-11-09
Great show!. I saw them on tour for this Album and this CD captures this!. Journey is a little harder in concert then the Albums.
A great Live album from Jorney.......2006-07-18
Journey were amongst my favorite rock bands along with Boston.this live collection is almost a complete greatest hits collection as it contains all their hits like Open arms.Dont Listen to "FED UP",this collection is great so buy it.Please avoid all albums from the lousy pussycat dolls as recommended by him.
Pussycat Dolls are The Spice Girls of 2006 whilst Journey are ROCK GODS.......2006-07-18
Triple H(as Fed Up): The Pussycat Dolls are awesome and better than Journey. Shawn Michaels(as Hellraiser): Journey are so 1981. Triple H: I got some news for ya, Journey are great musicians and were a GREAT BAND who thrived on music. Shawn Michaels: This concert has Journey at the top of their game. Triple H: The Pussycat Dolls are good to look at and get off(meaning m*st*rb*t*ng) at but their music s*cks. Shawn Michaels: This Journey concert has classics like Escape, Who's Crying Now, Mother Father, Where Were You and Wheel in the Sky among many others. Triple H: Neal Schon kicks *ss on the guitar. Shawn Michaels: Steve Perry was the voice. If you are not down with Journey and D-X we got TWO WORDS FOR YA(crowd yells "S*CK IT!)

KEITH STILL HAS A LOCK ON OUR HEARTS.......2003-01-06
Everything old is new again. Or perhaps that's what the marketing big-wigs at RCA were thinking when they decided that latest CD by Keith Lockhart and the Boston Pops Orchestra should simply be a "greatest hits" package -- selections culled from Lockhart's five previously released CDs. It's a gimmick that works, since those tracks chosen are truly the best of the best: "Riverdance" and "Magh Scola" from the Grammy-nominated "The Celtic Album;" "Sleigh Ride" and "Farandole" from "Holiday Pops;" "The Stars and Stripes Forever" from "A Splash of Pops." To add a bit of freshness, the closes with "Long Live the King!" a medley of Presley tunes recorded love at Boston's Symphony Hall for a PBS special. No wonder he can't help falling in love -- once again -- with the man who keeps a lock on our hearts.
The Boston Pops at Their Best!!.......2001-07-14
This has got to be the best orchestral CD I have ever purchased! My intent for buying the CD was not because of the Pops themselves (I wasn't very familiar with them or Keith Lockhart at the time), but my orchestra had played two of the songs on the CD so I thought it would have been neat to have a professional recording of them. A couple months later, here I am, I know how each one of the songs go, it never leaves my CD player unless I go somewhere (it goes too) and let me tell you Mr. Lockhart is a hottie- whether he knows it or not! Only because of this Cd, (and watching Pops Goes the Fourth) I have bought every other Boston Pops CD conducted by Keith Lockhart. They are outstanding musicians and this is the best "greatest hits so far" CD. It has pretty much 2 songs from each past CD- Tracks 1 and 4 from Runnin' Wild; Tracks 2 and 5 from The Celtic Album; Tracks 3 and 8 from American Visions; Tracks 6 and 9 from Holiday Pops; and tracks 7 and 10 from A Splash of Pops. Track 11 is Keith's introduction to Long Live the King and Track 12 is, obviously, Long Live the King-A Tribute to Elvis which has never been released before. And it's pretty sad I knew all of that without having to look at the CD case, huh? That just shows you how well put together this CD is, with a mix of everything for everyone. From the slow, beautiful "Magh Scola" ("The Level Plain") to "American Patrol" back to "A Hymn to New England" (written by former Boston Pops conductor and composer to just about every famous movie their is John Williams) and of course, their trademark "Stars and Stripes Forever", this CD is perfect for anyone with a love of classical music, or the Boston Pops Orchestra. And their tuba player better watch out- I am definetly going to replace him soon :)
The Best of the Best.......2000-07-26
Keith Lockhart does it again. All of America's favorites on one album plus a tribute to the King. It goes to show what a wonderful and masterful conductor Keith is and what a great orchestra the BSO is. Their finest album with Keith thus far. He truly is one of the best conductors in the business. I highly recommend this to everyone who loves the spirit of the Pops. It's superb all around.
Best of the Boston Pops.......2000-06-25
This is a wonderful repertoire of the kind of music played by the Boston Pop. It's for all ages. If anyone wants one CD that is representative of the Boston Pop Orchestra, this is it! Kudos to Keith Lockhart for including a medley by the King. This is my favorite Boston Pop CD next to "Runnin Wild" and the "Holiday at PoPs".
6th CD!.......2000-04-25
I went home this weekend and look what I picked up! The 6th ablum by Mr. Keith Lockhart and the Boston Pops! Great CD, love the music selections that Keith made to put in this one and I loved the Long Live the King! A Slaute to Elvis. You haven't heard anything until you have heard a full orchestra play Elvis Presley music. Number six, and it was great! My favorite piece is DoddleTOWN Fifers, or whatever it is called. The MCV (Middlesex County Vouleenters) are great, and I'm not just saying that because I know Earl, the Music Master for the group, they are good.
