Really nice soft zone-out music.......2004-12-14

Greetings...if you are looking for a nature CD that will relax you, and let you go to sleep peacefully, buy this CD. Some older copies like mine might be titled "Melody Of Thunder Bay" and you might also see it as part of a boxed set. The reason why I was so impressed with it is because the rain sounds blend so smoothly with the nature sounds, and there is not a lot of highs and lows to the volume that in my opinion, make a lot of nature CD's kind of annoying. This disc has only one track, a long tone-poem of sorts which drifts pleasantly along from one theme to the next, with various mellow synthesized instruments. I believe most people would find it to be soothing and stress relieving. Enjoy!

I first heard a song off this release on a New Age sampler "station" and was so intrigued and had to look for the CD... luckily, I found it at a used CD store. Thunder Bay has not left my CD player since. My George Winston CD's have been put away because frankly, Kurt moves me more... the expressiveness and beauty of his music is beyond decription - there is not one track on here that dissapoints. I guarantee, one listen and you will fall in love with Kurt too!

Thunder Bay is an excellent album by relative unknown Kurt Kunzat. A native of Michigan who spent many summers in the upper portion of the state, it is obvious that Kurt drew on the beauty of the suroundings in composing this music. One can almost see the water of the Great Lakes when listening to any one of the tracks. We can only hope that Kurt continues to compose and produce music of this quality.

Loved It All!.......1999-05-17

A few weeks ago, I was coaxed into going to a concert by The True North Brass. Am I glad I went! These 5 are immensely talented musicians and performers. Much of the music I heard at the concert is on this CD - a wonderful mix of Bach, Duke Ellington, folk, and "new". My favourite is a "new" piece "Downbound From Thunder Bay". I didn't think I was in the mood for "brass" the night I went to the concert, but I guess I didn't realize just what amazing sounds a brass quintet could produce. Nor how much the artists' obvious enjoyment of their performance could add to my own. I wish I knew more about music so I could do this group justice.
