Music to help your birds relax - not.......2006-11-10

I bought this CD as I had read about it on the Quaker Website. I thought it would relax my quaker parrot and 3 cockatiels. It had quite the opposite effect - they spent the whole time screaming at the bird sounds. Still, it did achieve something - the birds were entertained! Great music for both birds and humans.

Tropical Rain Forest Revisited on Amazon Rainforest.......2002-04-09

The artist used the identical recording of tropical birdsongs from his Tropical Rain Forest cd; overlaid it with a new musical soundtrack; and gave it a new name! Together these are jarring sounds. There are better cd's of bird recording than what you'll find on this re-tread.

Great CD.......2001-09-26

I bought this CD for my parrots to listen to while I was at work. Turns out that they love it, and I love it, too! It's relaxing to play this while I'm reading or resting. Some nature CDs get really annoying after awhile, but this one is mellow and never gets old.

Continued Peace.......2006-03-17

As a massage therapist, my original intention for this album was to have music for my sessions. At first I was disappointed because it didn't fit my idea of what a massage CD was supposed to be. One night I couldn't sleep so well, so I popped the CD in my apartment stereo on repeat. As the sounds of the rainforest filled my abode I drifted off to a peaceful sleep. When I changed jobs to a more challenging environment, I found the regular "massage CDs" starting to get old. So I pulled this CD back out and popped it in. It replicated the feeling of being in nature, despite my very urban surroundings. I listened to it for weeks leading up to my trip out to Hawaii. The first night of my stay on the east side of the big island - which is very much rainforest - I heard almost the exact sounds of the album coming from outside my window - only it was real! I was amazed at how well the sound was captured. It is now definitely my favorite CD that I play whenever I am stationary for a length of time. I highly recommend this to any nature lover.

I've been listening to the second track on this CD, Amazon Rain Forest, Pt. 2 since I was 13 years old. I was something of an insomniac and my grandmother lent me the CD to help me relax so I could sleep. It did wonders. Since then I've used that CD almost every night I've had trouble sleeping and within a matter of minutes I'm having the most relaxing sleep of life. It's a truly amazing CD and I would reccomend it to anyone seeking solitude music. You won't regret purchasing this CD.

Very Relaxing........2001-03-28

An excellent CD. If you live somewhere noisy, or with a snorer and are tired of using earplugs, this is the CD to get. It really makes you feel like you are in the rainforest environment, and relaxes you tremendously. I highly recomend.

Much Room for Improvement.......2003-09-03

This was a beautifully recorded CD of the bird songs, except..I d like to listen to the birds' solo without interruptions by some freelance music. If I could just listen to the birds alone it would have been a perfect CD.

I got this disc as part of a surprisingly cheap set of bird CDs from Brazil. This disc is actually a CD version of an album by Johan Dalgas Frisch, a pioneer in the recording of Brazilian bird songs. He produced several albums of nature sounds from his country, as well as several more in which the sounds were accompanied by dubbed-in music. If this is your cup of tea, fine, but I prefer my nature sounds straight. (A little nature sounds with music goes a very long way for me).

This disc does have some interest for the first three tracks, which are edited-together sound portraits of various wild places in Brazil, without accompanying music. The remaining tracks have musical accompaniment. Aside from the music, this disc's biggest debit is the sound quality, which suggests that it was mastered from an old LP rather than a master tape...pretty lo-fi, to say the least.

I don't play this disc too often, but when I do I program the CD player to play only the first three tracks, so I can hear the bird sounds without the embellishment of Stephen Foster, or any of the other artists whose music is probably better appreciated elsewhere. As entertainment for your pet bird, this will probably suffice; as an exciting sound portrait of any exotic land, there are lots of better CDs out there.

Much of the CD has music along with the bird songs. The birds by themselves would have sounded much nicer. The CD does not mention that it has music, background trains etc...

I play this CD for my African Grey Parrot. He loves listening to the birds, and sings along with them. It keeps us both entertained for hours.
