About the Artist
Mary Martin Stockdale fell in love with the piano at a young age. She began her classical training at five and wrote her first original piece at eight years old. Mary has taught piano for over twenty years and has composed original, improvisational pieces throughout that time. Mary's love affair with the West began when her family moved to the mountains of Arizona in her teens. Now living in northwest Colorado with her husband and two daughters, Mary continues to draw inspiration from the overwhelming natural beauty of her surroundings. A prolific composer, Mary possesses a unique skill for translating visual imagery into strong musical themes which form the basis of her fresh and surprising improvisations. Mary continues to teach, compose and perform full-time from Steamboat Springs, Colorado.
