I didn't know that Cirrus were from California, I thought they were from UK, but I made a mistake and they are a great electronic music band!
The CD is great! I love their music!

The best Jungle music I've heard.......2001-11-29

I'm more of a fan of trance and house music, but Cirrus realy turnd me on to jungle, or at least their brand of jungle. Track 2 is favorite, it was the first of their work I heard, and hooked me into exploring the rest of the album, and eventually buying it for myself, as well as their album "On a Mission". In short, this album is a classic.

These guys are too great!!! I love it. Buy it. You won't regret it believe me. Everything from dance music to music to just "chill" by. Go buy it!!!!

Not As Engaging As I Had Hoped.......2000-02-17

I'm not a huge dance/techno/electronica/call-it-what-you-want fan, but I do dabble. And seeing the addition of vocals, bass and guitars to a dance outfit piqued my interest. Unfortunately, it didn't hold it. Nothing really bad here, it just didn't make much impression. "Drop the Break" is OK, and I liked the trance-y feel of "Yallah Habibe". The only other impression I got was the rather silly lyrics on "Abduction". Serviceable for background music, but not really an album I could get into.

A great album.......1999-07-26

I heard back on a mission first, but this album is really good! Especially Superstar. If you like Electronica, then you should have this in your collection.

The Cirrus album you really want..........2005-11-23

Mmmm...a tasty recipe of some big, funky beats and a great, smooth easy to audibly ingest voice. -And she doesn't invade every song. I love techno but this has some mainstream crossover hit capability...if the American Media wasn't so fundementally rooted in evil! Previous albums diplay a less matured yet still viable techo band. Don't believe anyone who assocites Cirrus as soundling like Prodigy. Prodigy kicks arse while with Cirrus it's more like a stern hiney patting. With the singer chic, they've added some swirling to the patting, which is nice.

Did I miss something?.......2005-04-13

It just happens to be pure chance that I have run across Cirrus' CD Countefeit. Unfortunately, I only pop It in to hear "Hit the Decks, Intermission, and Straight Laid Out" which is a dissappointment. Maybe I haven't become accustomed to his style to be able to appreciate this yet or it might be that I'm searching for something else. I look forward to the past CDs for guidance.

WORD.......2003-11-13

Fo' shizzle. This album is just straight dope. A great listen the whole way through, and the perfect CD for that brand spankin' new sound system in your car. Loud, heavy beats mixed with some of the most soulful female vocals I've heard in a long time help to make this CD a must have for fans of the electronica genre. If you're into the Crystal Method or BT, you will dig this. I just bought the CD today and I haven't been able to take it out of the stereo. This is my first introduction to the music of Cirrus, and they definitely do not disappoint. Pick it up if you want some great, driving, up-tempo beats to pick you up. If your looking for a great electronic CD that will stay in your collection for a long time, then this is your disc d'ya dig?

CIRR-I-US!!!.......2003-10-14

GET IT? Oh, never mind! I'll just review "Counterfeit"--a masterfully done CD that was nothing like I thought it would be. The beats are wild and funky and the placements of Laura Derby's vocals on certain tracks break up the monotonony of this often innocuous style of "breakbeat"/cheerleader music. The sophisticatedly groovy, "Half a Cell," "You Are" and "Boomerang" are sure crossover hits, that is, if they can manage to get picked up by these radio stations that are overly-saturated with Top 40 garbage. Other killer tracks on "Counterfeit" are the outrageously funky "Dragon Lounge," "Intermission" and "Matter of Time." Everything else on "Counterfeit" has to grow on you, but are great songs for the gym, and for when you need that extra jolt when cleaning up the house or yard. All in all, a very impressive CD--Nothing "Counterfeit" about it!! GET IT? Oh, never mind!

Keeps You Movin'.......2004-12-08

Seriously! Cirrus is on a mission to make you dance all night, or at least tap your toes. I was given the CD as a gift by my Aunt who is a publisher for Moonshine records and I never heard of them before. Driving around, I popped the CD in the car stereo. Instantly I was blown away, and even with a pretty decent system I only wanted it to go louder (and drive faster for that matter). They obviously have skills and it shows on every track. ABBA Zabba is one of my faves. True talent and energy combine for an "OFF THE HOOK" set of tracks that will make you want to hear more, and more, and more...

i am a techno fan and i must saythat this is one of the best albums ive ever heard. With their matrix-style of urban beats and fast - paced lyrics. Beating the crystal method out of the top spot, this wonderful mix of techno and rap/hip hop makes this a must have for anyone who likes a great beat.

This cd is full of high energy, crankin' techno. Everyone I know who has listened to any one of these tracks wants to immediatly go out and buy it. Times running out is one of the best high energy techno songs I've ever heard. If you get the chance, see these guys live, you won't regret it.

Mission aborted.......1999-10-05

Techno junk food with some Rap/R+B influences. Amazing how a 5 minute song can seem like 8 minutes, when the majority is ust the same, repetitive hip-hop rhythm scheme.

Moonshine Records has had a history of great underground dance music - whether is be house, garage or electronica - and this cd fits the bill fine. With six versions of the song to choose from, there should be one to fit almost anyone's dance music needs. We have your harder mixes (remixed by Micro, Deepsky and The Coffee Boys) and you have your housier mix as well (done by DJ Dan) and you get your original mix. If you like anything by The Chemical Brothers or The Propellerheads, you should enjoy this one as well.
