The Ozark Mountain Daredevils belong in the Rock'N Roll Hall of Fame. They have never recorded one bad song. They are "the Beatles of the woods."
This new live recording is great from the first note to the last. It was done on New years Eve 1980. The songs sound close to the originals, but more lively, as you would expect. Steve Cash's harmonica resonates very well on Black Sky and several others. The vocals are fine, sometimes alittle over the top. There are a few musical instrument noises that are off the wall, but generally the sound is excellent. My only complaint is the lack of fiddle playing by John Dillon. Mike Granada's voice adds the usual comic relief. The original line up of musicians rounds out the band.
This live cd proves the Ozark's should not be forgotten in the American roots-rock music scene. They are one country rock band that should tour again.

This is a great recording of OMD live. In the meantime I'll just have to wait for the DVD version and the new studio album that I hope is in the works.

      this is really one of the goodmans best cd's i have been trying to find sheet music or accompaniments for this. lord paint my mind in paticular. my sister sings at our church and would love to find it? if you could help me GOD BLESS YOU. i have been searching for this about a month now, and would love to surprise her with it thanks again.........lost in dallas

      This CD is everything a GREAT Gospel CD should be. Old songs with the new. Even a song or two from the old Ryman Auditorium! The voices just shine on this recording. When Vestal sings STANDING IN THE PRESENCE OF THE KING, the rafters ring! If this CD doesn't get your toes to tapping, then you're just dead in the spirit. Not to worry though, after a listen, you'll be right back with it!

      I was super disappointed upon receiving this CD. I thought I had finally scored a copy of "Sit Down I Think I Love You" by the Mojo Men. I excitedly put the CD in the player and waited to be transported back to 1967..."What's this crap!" Something came out that sounded nothing like the original. Other songs were even worse. I then read the small print on the front of the disc "New stereo recordings by the Original Artists". A must to avoid!!

      This is truly a moving video to watch if you like great southern gospel quartets. It has some of the greatest singers that have made up the greatest gospel quartet of all time and even the ones that have not been with the Cathedrals for 30 years still sound fantastic. It is a blessing to watch.
