About the Artist
John Luttrell is a composer, and multi-instrumentalist. His original compositions range from acoustic rock and progressive rock to ambient electronic soundtracks and solo piano.
John played guitar and keyboard with the rock group Chillum from 1974-75 in London, England. In the 1980s, he played guitar and sang in the Los Angeles-based progressive rock trio Helios with fellow rockers Dave Veirs and Tony Betino. In 1989, Luttrell released the album Lost In My Dreams. This album also marked the beginning of OtterSong Records. In the 1990s John performed at venues in Southern California and composed material for new projects.
His 2000 release Underwater Flying Lessons, features ambient new age compositions for piano, synthesizer, and guitar. The 2004 follow-up A Sense of Impending Levitation is the next chapter in Luttrell's atmospheric musical journey.
