Soothing Sounds for the Stressed-Out.......2004-06-13

On the back of this CD it states this music is by "pioneer sound healers". I'm aware of the therapeutic effects that music can possess but I've never heard of "sound healers" before. I won't argue, I'll take their word for it. One thing I do know - this is incredibly beautiful and effective music for meditating, relaxing and falling asleep.

Some numbers contain the serene bliss of nature sounds right up front combined with soothing melodies while others keep the ocean, wind and whatever else softly layered in the background. A few more numbers are accompanied by whispery female vocals. All the tracks flow together nicely without any abrupt changes in mood.

On a few occasions I've listened to this CD while working on the computer - right now is a good example - and have noticed less tension in my neck and shoulders and my breathing slower and deeper. Anything that succeeds at the demanding task of coaxing my twitchy little brain into an even partial state of tranquility truly deserves my highest recommendation.

Musical Healing is Profoundly Powerful.......2002-11-05

As an energetic healer for over 15 years I am quite aware of the profound influence that subtle energies can have in terms of providing general healing effects. This release from Sequoia Records contains an extraordinary compilation of the most soothing and meditative tracks from the very best of their label artists, perfectly sequenced into a beautifully fluid and peaceful journey that uplifts and nourishes the soul. When I put this on for my client's sessions the music really assists in melting their tensions away and creates a wonderful sound environment within which to do my healing work. I especially like the two new tracks from the Gordon brothers, Healing Passage and Healing Ocean and was delighted to find Sophia's Sweet Surrender contained on the release. The CD is rounded out well with fantastic tracks from Gary Stadler (one of my favorite Sequoia artists), Zingaia and Solaria. All in all Musical Healing is an incredibly harmonious, gorgeously balanced and profoundly powerful album. Take two tracks and forget about needing to call your doctor.

Musical Healing is a Journey to the Healing Heart.......2002-01-08

This compilation album from the folks at Sequoia Records comes with several unexpected gifts, chief among them that the exquisitely sensuous singer Sophia has joined the Sequoia family. Her "Sweet Surrender" remains a particular favorite, and I'm delighted that it appears on Musical Healing. Other gifts include three previously unreleased tracks "Twin Souls" by Solaria, and "Healing Passage" and Healing Ocean" by David and Steve Gordon.
Many of the tracks on Musical Healing include lushly textured nature sounds with bird songs, waves, and running water weaving in and out. Gary Stadler, Stephannie, Zingaia and Deborah Martin all have tracks on the album, making Musical Healing a great introduction to the softer side of Sequoia Records. Flute, harp, piano, guitar and angelic vocals join the nature sounds, creating a stress-free atmosphere conducive to massage, meditation, yoga, Reiki, and other healing modalities. Soothing Sounds of Nature.......2003-07-02

While I can appreciate the sounds from a secluded lake, there is nothing like the sound of a thunderstorm rolling in. For the past few days I've been in rainy day heaven. There is nothing like snuggling up in bed and listening to a thunderstorm while you read poetry. Of course it would be better if someone was reading you the poetry although the thunder in the "Rolling Thunder" CD is so realistic, it will keep your full attention.
You can hear each droplet of rain hitting the parched earth. The storm brews slowly, then the wind starts to blow and finally birds chirp and the thunder gets louder and louder as if the storm is rolling across the sky. Spectacular! The best I've heard so far and well worth the price of the entire set. Of course my cats fell soundly asleep to it and once you get used to it, you can eventually enjoy it late at night as you fall asleep.

"Morning in the Mountains" is perfect for a time when you want to listen to a cool mountain stream cascading down the mountainside.

"Secluded Lake" is much more restful and you can hear the cry of a loon as it echoes off the alpine shores. The sounds on this CD were recorded from sunrise to sunset.

"Ocean Shore" is mostly rolling surf and a few seagulls. You really need to dig your toes into some sand while listening. ;) It will inspire a trip to the beach.

"Bird Sanctuary" is a symphony of birds serenading one another.

"African Rainforest" was actually quite comical in places once the gorillas and monkeys have their say about it all. Exotic birds, insects and a tropical rainfall makes this the most unique recording in the set.

"Humpback Whale Serenade" is an interesting conversation between whales to the background of a soothing sea and rolling surf. The haunting echoes seem to surround you if you imagine yourself at the bottom of the sea. Truly the best recording I have heard to date.

"Pine Forest" is filled with life. All you need is the scent of pine to complete the experience.

"The Deep Woods" has a chorus of birds mixed in with cooing doves. If you think about it, the harmonizing is rather amazing. These are the sounds you would hear if you were on a long hike and got to the place in a woods where you imagined no man had been before. This was my least favorite as it seemed a plane was flying overhead, an echo from a cave was included? or there was a sound that I could not quite identify which could remind you of a generator or car passing by on a freeway. If anyone figures out the sound, I'd love to know. So, I would not recommend "this" particular CD for that reason. Also, I could hear a rooster crow. So, not sure exactly what is going on in that CD and the birds really overpower the other sounds. Hey, 9 out of 10 isn't bad.

The first 9 CDs would be perfect for Massage Therapy, a quiet moment, calming background for writing, or just a complete nature escape. Each one of these recordings is clear and realistic except I was not happy with "The Deep Woods" for various reasons.

I'd pay $20 just for the "Rolling Thunder" CD because it is that good, so getting 8 additional CDs that I love almost as much was a great deal for the price. Think of this set as being 9 CDs and you will be very happy with this collection.

This is a wonderful relaxing meditative cd. I first heard it in a gentle yoga class and was swept into a comforting flute and universal heart rythym, healing energy. I now also listen to the cd before bed and it has been mystical gift for my spirit. Highly recommended!!!!

Will Tuttle is an exemplary author, expert pianist and a purveyor of universal peace. This CD is a must buy for people who love God, his animal creation and wondrous piano virtuosity. It is celestial, serene and idyllic ! Will Tuttle's greatest talent is his personal magnetism that he selflesly uses via his compelling books and music to implore people to have reverence for all life. If you seek spiritual healing, solace and/or simply a celebration of all life (human and animal), it is imperative to purchase this bona fide materpiece of vivifying piano songs !

This has just become my favorite CD of all time, of all the ones I've heard, including the ones in an extensive collection of music. Each piece eloquently captures the essence and spirit of each of the animals represented. Very touching. What a powerful tribute to our furry and feathered friends (as well as to all of the other ones in the sea, etc.). The first time I listened to it, was a very emotional experience as it is very touching, yet uplifting. Also, very relaxing. Your cares and concerns just seem to melt away as these songs play. I recommend closing your eyes and listening to the songs through headphones while picturing each of the animals and their lives. The Cow Song and the Calf Song are especially beautiful, moving pieces. The poem entitled "Remembering The Vision", written by Mr. Tuttle and appearing on the inside of the jacket, left me wiping away tears and speechless, as I was listening to the music. A very, very powerful poem and a loving tribute to our animal friends everywhere. Thank you, Mr. Tuttle, for the love that shines through the music on this CD, and for your commitment to a better world for ALL the beings who share our planet and our journey while here. Overall, I highly recommend this CD, whether you are a vegan or a wannabe, as it will take you to a different place and time, to a higher plane of life, awareness and love. I would give this CD TEN stars if that were an option so I will settle for the maximum of five, golden stars. Keep up your awesome work, Will! :)

Great disc. .......2005-12-06

My naive description of the music is that it's somewhere between Dave Brubeck and Enya with a little Charlie Brown sprinkled in (whoever wrote/performed the latter, I don't know). It's paino jazz that is complex enough to be interesting but with grooves and melodies that are really easy to listen to.
