Shamanic Dream by Anugama(62minutes) uses flutes, bells, gongs, and subdued drumming to create a mood that is irresistibly relaxing. To get this effect, the musician combined sounds and melodies known to correspond with certain human brain waves and energies of the Earth itself, as established by modern geophysics.

Very good.......2007-06-26

This is my first shamanic music CD that I bought and I am quite happy I picked this one so I will probably be getting the Shamanic Dream II soon as well. The music on this CD is perfect for winding down after a hard day at work and for attuning to the earth energies. I usually listen to this CD with my eyes closed and at some point during my listening session, my eyes start to move rapidly which is called REM (rapid eye movement) and is indicative of a high theta state. My mind becomes much quieter and I feel deeply relaxed. So this CD is very suitable for meditaiton practice. Highly recommended.

My favorite yoga CD.......2007-06-08

I am a yoga teacher and this is my favorite CD to teach to. Shamanic Dream features two, half-hour tracks which are extremely hypnotic and relaxing, and help to promote a feeling of meditation. The first track has a steady drum beat which feels like a heart beat. I find it to keep a great beat which makes you want to have a rhythmic, engaging yoga flow practice. The second track is similar, but features insect noises that are extremely relaxing. You can float away listening to the insect hum. That might sound annoying, but it is very relaxing. There are no vocals on the CD. I frequently teach to this CD, and use it for my home practice, and I never get tired of it.

There are not enough stars in your choices for ratings to say how good this CD is. I was transported by the subtle qualities of the sounds. As a meditation aid it is absolutely transporting. I first played it while driving and it was almost dangerous because I was hypnotized by it. I really had to pay attention to the road.
If you are looking for an aid to meditation I recommend this CD. I will be using it a lot. I will also use it for other areas as well. It is such an uplifting piece of music.

Both volumes of this title are top notch. The sound is rich and quietly rhythmic. The inclusion of vocals blends perfectly with the instrumentation. And while the sound is hypnotic and relaxing, it is never monotonous. My only regret is each time a track ends...

Another off the rating scale..........2007-05-07

Here is another one of Anugama's off the rating scale. The Chakra section was wonderful and I felt each of these energy points open up and respond to the sound of the music like I have never felt them before. I can't wait to introduce them to others like myself that want excellent music to help myself, as well as other to meditate better and to reach deeper into the connectedness of all things. I feel playing any of these CDs by Anugama that I am not alone in when I am playing them in meditation, but a part of a world that is seeking inner peace. Another WOW.

I bought this CD to play in my Yoga classes, and it's perfect! Relaxing but not distracting.

THE tai chi music.......2002-09-16

This cd is widely used in tai chi classes in my neighborhood. It's a perfect antidote to the ubiquitous chinese tai chi music. I do it to Chen style and find it particularly suited to the Chen energy.

Wonderful For Mediation or Healing Work.......2002-03-28

I use this CD for Reiki and other healing work. Anugama has given us a fine CD complete with all that could be considered a shamanic dream indeed. Drones, gentle yet heavy monotonic drumming helps set a trance-like state, careful use of human voice and flutes and much more lends this CD to many uses. It is fine for Reiki if one does not want the usual synthesized sounds but something unique and real when it comes to the instrumentation and reaching the deeper elements of who we are inside.

damn cricket.......2002-02-01

Shamanic dream is an excellent CD. Both tracks are very relaxing due to monotone tracks behind the subtle melodies. However there is a damn cricket in the second track that totally distracts me. That is why I rate it a 4. Remove the cricket and it is a 5.

I ran into this CD by chance at a bookstore. From the moment the music reached my ears, I was hooked. I now have 6 friends also turned onto this CD, most of them saying it's brought them profound comfort, enjoyment + helped with deep meditations. They music is absolutely beautiful and soothing.

Getting in a groove.......2001-05-09

This is an excellent tape for getting into a meditational, calming groove. I use it often in the workshops I teach, and the students quickly fall in love with the mildly "driving" feeling that the tape offers. It has a circular sound that is excellent. It works quite well if you use the tape along with breathing exercises where you time the breath to go along with the music.

I am very grateful to own this cd. It is invaluable in what it offers to me for dreaming and meditation. There is nothing else like it that I have encountered that is so genuine and heartfelt. I especially enjoy the healing bowl track! I highly recommend it to anyone seeking a sacred life and wanting to delve deeper into their spirituality. It is a magical musical journey. AHO!
